Beautiful work, but as a Chess player, those turrets would drive me crazy as they would be in my way when moving pieces on the board.

    Hey what is your elo?

  • @eugeneedens4525

@@FlameBeastOnIce Can you elaborate, I'm not familiar with "elo." I play as an amateur, not professionally, so I'm not familiar with many terms and stuff. I started playing when I was about 11-12 years old. I met a new kid in my neighborhood, he was a few years younger than me, and he was playing Chess on his front porch, so I asked what he was doing, and he said playing Chess. So, I asked how do you play and he showed me. I won my first game (and kinda pissed him off🤣😂) and I was hooked. Years later, another friend taught me some of the finer points, and a few things about strategy and I've been playing casually ever since. I've always wondered how good I really am, like against a professional because I tend to win most games, but every once in a while I'll meet someone who can best me, and when I do, I learn from them, directly or indirectly. I'm 52 now, and I'm still enjoying the game.

A little safety with the blade never hurts. Nice chessboard, it could be improved, with fake windows on the towers, with some doors, perhaps accompanied by flags on the tower, and for the connection from tower to tower I would use a double frame on each side to give the idea of a defensive wall , medieval castle style. But this is just my opinion.

LOL, I knew there’d be commenters ref: lack of safety. Apparently utube regs aren’t written in Vietnamese and these two aren’t concerned by any potential litigation arising from the lack of safety. Having said this, I have a beautiful soapstone chess set I bought in Korea 50 yrs ago that would look great with this board. Were I to make it I would design some of the thicker ramparts thinner. The turrets would be lowered with more space between the play edge and the ramparts. All in all an ingenious creation, not surprising as these are the same peoples who stymied the world’s most powerful military. The creator of the vid is possibly a Christian as the music played is “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms of Jesus.” Interesting. Glad they are finally able to turn to more industrious endeavors at last. Semper Fi.

Nice woodwork but as a chess player I don´t think I would like to play on this board. The towers would block a good view on the game and also the pieces are to small for the size of the squares. And another thing... if you want to demonstrate when you´re playing chess make sure you know how the pieces work. I saw some illegal moves.

This is a great design, more for display than play as the turrets would get in the way. BUT, as usual your finish is very POOR as you need to fill in all the nail holes and joints with wood filler - THEN a final sand and polish for a FAR MORE finished, asthetically pleasing and professional look. That little bit of extra work would be SO worthwhile.
