He took a guitar that's failed commercially in the past and convinced Ibanez to turn it into his signature guitar specifically to play this song. Amazing!

There’s a reason it failed. Even though this is a massive improvement it still sounds a bit thin and tinny. It works for what polyphia does but it seems like a super case sensitive guitar if that makes sense.

@@brynjolf3974 For sure. It works great in songs like this but would be kindof crappy for acoustic classical guitar, a random cheap 300€ fullsized one sounds way fuller/better on its own. This is mostly focussed on it being plugged it and the amount of electric nylon players is not that big. Though as someone who has played mostly classical guitar i would love to plug one of these into a DAW and have some fun :)

hell, tbh ibanez prolly owe these guys even more. Ibanez will pass Gibson amongst the younger crowd with some many influential artist's using it. Hell i've been on board ever since I saw Mick Thompsons Hate guitar when I was a kid.

Absolutely incredible. We all know that Tim's playing can stand on its own, but having a hype video for a signature guitar with absolutely no corny voice-over or narration, barely any accompaniment and complete focus on the incredibly clean tone and Tim's skill is just genius.

It kinda look like those knockoff Chinese hollow acoustics they sell in the street. As much as the quality being godlike as expected from Ibanez, its looks doesn’t reflect it. Love the fretboard inlay though

@@scarecrow7x I'll give him a little more credit than that, also I believe it's some sort of hybrid like a Godin but made by Ibanez. He's playing a style I'd more associate with Nylon/Gut string players than just, electric guitar players as a whole. His tone really reminds me of just DI'd guitar with no gain and slight reverb. Which is pretty interesting. And doesn't really give you anything to hide behind He has major chops, I don't really see any reason to hate on him as a player. But the whole Staning and insane fans of his intrigues me. Because, he really isn't doing all that much new. Yet people act like he's doing something that has never been done. Oh well, it's probably just because he's good looking.

Definitely glad this happened. Tim knew the potential of what a guitar like this could do and sound like. It’s a gift to Tim, Ibanez, fans and musicians! I still can’t get enough of this song! It has become my favorite of theirs. Playing God is just an amazing sounding song! It’s hard but groovy! I can’t listen to it without moving my head, lol! The guitar looks amazing! It’s slick, almost minimalistic but with great fantastic detailed accents that compliment the guitar. The colors are perfect for this guitar. Wow! The sound is ridiculous as well. As someone else said it’s a piece of art! Well done! Genius to have Tim in the ad and playing this song that really lets you hear that sound.

I’m primarily an electric guitar player because I don’t really enjoy a lot of acoustic music. I enjoy his acoustic playing quite a bit, so that inspired me. There’s no need to call somebody a sheep for getting inspired.

it’s crazy. i remember when yngwie was playing nylons live with a pick he was getting sooo much hate for it online and that was maybe like 12-13 years ago. now we have a modern guitar player doing the same thing on a signature model. both different styles of music but tonally it’s very similar. i bet a lot of the people praising this signature were some of the original haters back in the day for shredding on nylons with a pick. in any case congrats on the sig, hope people buy them!!

Absolutely beautiful! Couldn't find any information on the price on the Ibanez website, but other sources estimate it might land somewhere in the 700$ range, so actually an affordable signature for once! Still hope that Ibanez will release that sweet light-grey/ silver electric guitar that Tim was playing in the NeuralDSP trailer.

There’s a reason it failed. Even though this is a massive improvement it still sounds a bit thin and tinny. It works for what polyphia does but it seems like a super case sensitive guitar if that makes sense.

@@brynjolf3974 For sure. It works great in songs like this but would be kindof crappy for acoustic classical guitar, a random cheap 300€ fullsized one sounds way fuller/better on its own. This is mostly focussed on it being plugged it and the amount of electric nylon players is not that big. Though as someone who has played mostly classical guitar i would love to plug one of these into a DAW and have some fun :)

hell, tbh ibanez prolly owe these guys even more. Ibanez will pass Gibson amongst the younger crowd with some many influential artist's using it. Hell i've been on board ever since I saw Mick Thompsons Hate guitar when I was a kid.

Absolutely incredible. We all know that Tim's playing can stand on its own, but having a hype video for a signature guitar with absolutely no corny voice-over or narration, barely any accompaniment and complete focus on the incredibly clean tone and Tim's skill is just genius.

What’s crazy is this sounds so good on its own but when you add in all the layers of polyphia as a band it’s on another level of songwriting

It kinda look like those knockoff Chinese hollow acoustics they sell in the street. As much as the quality being godlike as expected from Ibanez, its looks doesn’t reflect it. Love the fretboard inlay though
Tim will be the guitar hero we'll tell our kids about in the future.
Can honestly say I think Tim is evolving an entirely new genre.

@@scarecrow7x I'll give him a little more credit than that, also I believe it's some sort of hybrid like a Godin but made by Ibanez. He's playing a style I'd more associate with Nylon/Gut string players than just, electric guitar players as a whole. His tone really reminds me of just DI'd guitar with no gain and slight reverb. Which is pretty interesting. And doesn't really give you anything to hide behind He has major chops, I don't really see any reason to hate on him as a player. But the whole Staning and insane fans of his intrigues me. Because, he really isn't doing all that much new. Yet people act like he's doing something that has never been done. Oh well, it's probably just because he's good looking.

Math Rock, is what I understand it's called. There are other players who do a similar style. Ichika Nito, Aaron Marshall, Plini.
This is such a badass signature. Basically no other signature guitar out there is so specifically crafted for a certain sound, totally unique

@@jobean5073 The guitar does not sound anything like I've ever heard a computer do. Maybe parts and production of the song but the guitar playing is raw emotion, technique and style. And I say this not as a particular fan of this type of music but as a fellow guitarist.
Definitely glad this happened. Tim knew the potential of what a guitar like this could do and sound like. It’s a gift to Tim, Ibanez, fans and musicians! I still can’t get enough of this song! It has become my favorite of theirs. Playing God is just an amazing sounding song! It’s hard but groovy! I can’t listen to it without moving my head, lol! The guitar looks amazing! It’s slick, almost minimalistic but with great fantastic detailed accents that compliment the guitar. The colors are perfect for this guitar. Wow! The sound is ridiculous as well. As someone else said it’s a piece of art! Well done! Genius to have Tim in the ad and playing this song that really lets you hear that sound.

I’m primarily an electric guitar player because I don’t really enjoy a lot of acoustic music. I enjoy his acoustic playing quite a bit, so that inspired me. There’s no need to call somebody a sheep for getting inspired.

it’s crazy. i remember when yngwie was playing nylons live with a pick he was getting sooo much hate for it online and that was maybe like 12-13 years ago. now we have a modern guitar player doing the same thing on a signature model. both different styles of music but tonally it’s very similar. i bet a lot of the people praising this signature were some of the original haters back in the day for shredding on nylons with a pick. in any case congrats on the sig, hope people buy them!!

Absolutely beautiful! Couldn't find any information on the price on the Ibanez website, but other sources estimate it might land somewhere in the 700$ range, so actually an affordable signature for once! Still hope that Ibanez will release that sweet light-grey/ silver electric guitar that Tim was playing in the NeuralDSP trailer.
