That truck you found was SUCH a good find. It can be extremely hard to find practical trucks in America these days. I live in farm territory and all of the farm trucks are old as hell because newer "trucks" are pointless showpieces too big to fit anywhere without the storage to match. No one who actually needs a practical vehicle can really use them... trucks like yours make me miss the one we had on the farm when I was a kid (old man alert lol).

Take a look at Ronald Finger's workshop rebuilding videos, as well as Wesley Treat's. They're both in Texas, with similar spaces. Insulation - in depth - is highly warranted. You may want to consider a mini split air conditioner as well. We live nearby Laura's new place, and once insulated, our three-car garage (with an exhaust fan) is pretty pleasant even in the summertime for our hobby space.

I love looking at a pile of unwanted, seemingly unrelated material and seeing the beginning of something; then just reaching in and making something out of it. Knowing how the idea started with not much at all and then blending together ideas as I go is so satisfying, especially when the blurry vision I have at the start is not at all what I end up with. I don't have the tools, funds, or skills to do it as much as I'd like to, so watching you do it is a great substitute! You probably already know about it, but the Habitat for Humanity Re-stores have been fantastic for me as I've spent the last year completely re-building an old camper trailer. I'm still in the process of finishing it, even though I met the goal of getting it ready to go see the recent solar eclipse. With new wood sooooo expensive, getting old maple, oak, and other wood scraps, and even entire cabinets, has made this doable for me. I visit the two near me regularly.

I understand the fun of intuitive unplanned projects. I do both that way and the "normal" way of planning things out first. Depends on the project. Your projects are fun to watch and inspiring.

Great choice on vehicles. I love the old little trucks, got a 2002 Frontier myself, and love it.

At 7:05 I couldn't help but smile seeing the wall go up and seeing the vision come together. I can't say I was here at the beginning of your channel and youtube journey but I'm glad I got to see another beginning for you and are here to see what ever you've got coming in the future.

At first it looked like you were making a pinball hall!! Then Voila!! Laura happened to create a wonderful work space!! Going from working in a chilly shop to needing air conditioning! Loving it! Hugs from 🇨🇦

What an exciting new adventure for you! I'm really curious to see how your USA series will feel different from those filmed in Germany. I always love the banter that you have with your friends in Germany - it's so authentic and funny. There was something about this episode that felt very different to your other content... I can't place my finger on it, but it didn't feel the same.

Lostine Oregon!!! yes!! another Magical Place of Nature!! I was born and raised in Oregon and my dad worked in the lumber business (actually i LOVE your connections to Oregon. not just Leatherman, but SawStop originated there and is now headquartered just outside of Portland in Tualatin. sooo cool)
