I came from a index trigger release to this. And it's been 2 weeks and I absolutely love it. I'm more accurate. It feels easier to pull the poundage if that sounds weird but it does.
Excellent video on the Onnex! Since I purchased a Onnex thumb from you I absolutely love it! Thank you for your professionalism and explanation! Will have to come down to see the shop! Stay safe and always shoot straight!
Have had mine a few months and have to say it is beyond amazing! Smooth and crisp.
I switched from an index release to the Stan Onnex thumb button. I love the thing. I opted for the heavy version. It is stout and feels great at full draw. So many ways to configure it.
I absolutely love mine!! Long peg with the large barrel tilted back bout 30° is a sweet spot for me.
Great video, I got the thumb release and really enjoying it.
we appreciate your content!!
I just bought one a few days ago and I love it. I’m switching from an index release so it’s a lot different but feels way more comfortable.

My fingers no longer slide on my release. It took some time to get use to it, but it’s the best release I had
Just picked one of these up. I love it so far, better than my Tru Ball Blade Pro
Got mine a week ago. I love it.
Great review!, I think I will go for it .
Nice sweatshirt. That's a staple shop to us Oregon Bowhunters. I know Stan makes a fine release but A) I prefer a ring on the index finger portion and B) they don't make the thumb trigger adjustable to where I like it. I shoot a Cobra Harvester and I love how I can adjust the thumb button so it's right next to the body of the release and then I activate it by squeezing my thumb and pinky together. Can't do that with these releases.
I get a lot out of your videos. This year, I decided to get serious about archery and I re-started from square one. You, along with Chris Bee's and John Dudley's videos, have finally helped me improve my accuracy dramatically. Glad to see that you're working on improving your production value. It's good to begin with but one can always improve. Some feedback that I would offer for this video, and I realize that you didn't ask for it, is this: - Either the second camera is not very good quality or the settings need to be adjusted. The exposure is incorrect and the colors and detail are blown out. - If it is a good quality camera and the settings are correct, then maybe it happened in post production with whatever video editor you're using. - General rule of photography and videography is that the camera shows everything. In the second camera view, there are a lot of distractions such as the screw and various pieces of "stuff". The work surface should be clean making it visually appealing. If something doesn't add anything to the shot, it shouldn't be in the shot. - Maybe a smoother transition between the two camera views. Just a real short fade out/fade in. All it takes is 1/10 second fade out/in to make it appear smoother. - For a video editor, I use DaVinci Resolve. Their free version does more than most video editors that cost $200 or more. The learning curve is big but once you figure it out and use it, it's a nice editor. It is a resource hog though so you need a PC that is up to the task. - Just my personal taste but the split screen video that is blurry on the outer thirds of the screen just drives me nuts. I think the younger folks like it but I find it extremely distracting. Especially when going from full screen to that. Keep up the good work and keep putting out great videos!
In 20 years when my Perfex gives out, maybe I will buy one of these😀
I bought the thumb and the resistance and really like them. Contemplating the hinge, would love a review of it down the road.

Lancaster archery site says that all onnex models can be converted between thumb button and resistance. Is that not the case?
I got this release a few months ago…best one I have. Took time to get use too, but so worth it. Has eliminated my target panic

I guess you can't give us a reason how the release cured your target panic. 🤔
Appreciate the review! Which size do you find the most comparable to the UV hinge?
I’m a knife maker and I can attest that 440c is SUPER resistant to abrasion.
Don't forget that the onnex is quiter then the perfex.
You done great on the camera work I do think your 2nd camera needs to be broken closer so you can see what you're doing a little bit better
Having owned a Perfex in the past, I can tell some of the differences to the Onnex from your description. They still seem very similar with many of the same features. The biggest differences I see are the stainless construction, the pinky thing and the plans to standardize the shape across a hinge and resistance model. But the Perfex kind of did that too with a resistance model. I'd be interested if you compare and contrast these two in a future video. Do you know if the Perfex will eventually be replaced with the Onnex?

I messaged Stan directly was told: "We discontinued the Perfex. The new Onnex line we released in January has replaced it."
Hey sir, You said to adjust Trigger Tension you have to first loosen a Set Screw. Stan's Tech Instructions say nothing about loosening/tightening any set screws. PJ over at Lancaster has a review - he doesn't mention any set screws. AJB Holsters also has an Instructional Video and doesn't mention any set screws. Hope it helps, John
As for draw length, how does it match up with the ultraview hinge?
I'm still waiting on mine.... 3 months on back order so far....
Will you be reviewing the onnex hinge? Do you hunt with a hinge at all?
I've got 2 Perfex, a heavy metal for 3D and a blackout for hunting. Looks like on the new release they didn't put a point to run a cord for your wrist. Any insight as to why?
Been trying to score one them for awhile. Where can I order one.?
One question, one comment…. I noticed when I turn the tension a half a turn more than what you describe, the trigger breaks again. Is this normal? Also, with the pinky “cradle”, I’ve found it’s nice to just bring the pinky back to activate the thumb trigger. It doesn’t signal a shit is about to go off like using the thumb. Just an observation….
How the sizing ? Is the large bigger the the large in a prefex?
rad color
I’m interested in this release but I’m not sure what size to get. I wear XL gloves, would I order an XL even if I don’t shoot with gloves?
Mercy, all sears should be made of stainless steel, The hardest made or no thanks. I want brand names that don't use harden steel for sears?
Hey what’s the sizing like? Is it like the perfex where a large is really a medium or is it like a shoot off (which I have) and a large is as expected a large? Keen to get one, but I’ll have to get it mailed, Cheers

I’m in the same boat Josh - did you find out anywhere?
I've only been shooting about 18 months and was using the truball bone collecter and I just recently grabbed this release and WOW, this thing is party in my left hand and no one's invited, haha, just joking, it's not as if I know how all the other top releases feel but man this thing feels unreal, I have no one to help me along where I live so I have to rely on the guys here on KZread, and Kellen is one of my go to guys, I'm really happy with my progress so far, thanks heaps Kellen, I don't know what I would've done without guys like you. Peace out from Australia 👍 🇦🇺

Thanks brother!! Appreciate the support
The fact they made a Onex with thumb release, hinge and tension release all with the same ergonomy is genious, so any one can swap the releasing style whitout changing the anchor point. Sadly it has two problems: 1) they chose to change the size compared to the PerfeX, so PerfeX users as me had to change their anchor point and relearn the proceess (or change the DW) to enter in the new model, and 2) the new neck is huge and not as good in ergonomics for mid or small sized hands as the PerfeX Long Neck Heavy Metal.

Just curious, Does the Onnex run larger than the PerfX? I have both in medium and the Onnex seems slightly larger. My girlfriend loves my medium PerfX so I'm wondering if the small Onnex would be closer in sizing?
Hey I know this video is a few months old but I'm pretty new to archery and am transitioning to a thumb button. I bought a Chinese knock off and already see a difference in consistency and accuracy. That being said, what would you recommend for a thumb button with the best value?? $200+ is not in my budget. The stan onnex is something I'd love to have but is not in my budget. Just would love your feedback/recommendation. Love you educative videos!!

Hi I’m Shooting a PSE Drive NXT. With a 29.5 in Drawling my Arrows are Easton 6.5 hunter cut to 31ins. My Draw Weight 60pd I’m using a 340g with a 100g Broadhead what the arrow and with my arrow set up

@@InsideOutPrecision am I using the right arrow size for the bow that I’m shooting and a drawling. And what would the arrow weight be with everything on it will still be considered at 340
@InsideOutPrecision
2 жыл бұрын
@@morriscopeland5813 so the 340 has nothing to do with the weight, that’s the spine (stiffness of the arrow). If it’s cut at 31 inches I’d guess it’s a little too weak. Id cut it down to 29.5 if you can, then it should be about right if you’re only going to shoot 60lbs. Any more draw weight though and you’ll want to bump up to a 300 spine
The onnex hinge doesn't come with a click is that correct
