@@danielgamez4826 Overall yes! Don't need to worry about mass shootings like I do in the US. Obviously, there are places where one needs to be more attentive and it's important to not let my guard down. I count myself lucky that I haven't really had much happen to me directly, but I have definitely witnessed things that left me shaken a bit. Many say it's like any big city, you just need to be aware of your surroundings, etc. Grant it, I don't venture into zones known to be more dangerous, nor do I go into provincia much, so I know that makes a difference.
My wife and I visited BA a few years back and found it to be absolutely lovely! Such a beautiful city and yes, the bookstore is the most beautiful in the world! Did you see Evita’s tomb? Looking forward to your next offering. And anxiety is real!! Good luck!

Since nearly none of these vloggers give good advice on where to eat and drink, here you go in case you need some ideas: *Parrillas* 1. Don Julio- still the best; best to make reservations when they open three months in advance; more expensive than all the other parrillas, but we’ll worth it and still cheap compared to US prices, especially if you’re paying in dollars 2. La Carnicería- probably my current second favorite; excellent mollejas that are a little bit fancier than your average parrilla; sit at the bar if it’s not hot outside 3. El Ferroviario- real Porteño experience, as not many tourists go there; huge portions at very good prices; a bit out of the way and not fancy at all, as it is under a highway with the majority of the seating outside; good for large groups 4. Nuestro Secreto- parrilla of the Four Season; different style asado; beautiful garden seating; you pay Four Seasons prices so not cheap 5. La Brigada- wasn’t as good as when we were back in Jan, but still a good option, especially if you’re in San Telmo for the Sunday market; great atmosphere 5. A few others to consider if you can’t get into the other ones- La Cabrera, Parrilla Peña, El Pobre Luis *Argentinian (not asado) * 1. El Preferido de Palermo- best Milanesa Napolitana in my opinion; book a few weeks in advance 2. Chori- best choripán that’s not in front of a football stadium 3. Palermo Cantina- good local neighborhood spot in Palermo Hollywood; good and huge Milanesa; cool atmosphere; cheap 4. El Baqueano- more upscale and unique takes on classic Argentinian dishes 5. Peron Peron- old school atmosphere honoring Socialism in Latin America complete with typical dishes and the theme music; locations in Palermo Hollywood and San Telmo 6. La Choripaneria- good choripán option in the permanent San Telmo Market *Upscale* 1. Chila- my favorite fine dinning option in BA; nice atmosphere located in Puerto Madero so can walk along the water before or after dinner 2. Crizia- excellent upscale seafood restaurant; go all out and get the tasting menu with wine pairing 3. Elena- another restaurant in the Four Seasons; mostly Argentinian cuisine, but more upscale *Ethnic Cuisine (everything besides Argentinian) * 1. Niño Gordo- Argentinian-Asian fusion 2. La Alacena- my favorite Italian restaurant in a city full of Italian restaurants; good brunch option 3. Mishiguene- Argentinian-Israeli fusion; has become quite famous so need to book in advance 4. La Mar- offshoot of the original Gastón Acurio cebecheria in Lima; excellent ceviches, chaufas, etc. 5. Oviedo- Spanish restaurant good for seafood; nice atmosphere, but casual and good price 6. Gran Dabbang- excellent and innovative Argentinian-South Asia fusion in a very casual atmosphere; doesn’t take reservations so go when they open *Pizza* 1. La Mezzetta- best fugazzetta in BA; well worth the trek to Colegiales if you’re staying in the city center, but go between lunch and dinner (say 3:00-6:00) because there’s always a queue 2. Pizzería Güerrín- not as good as La Mezzetta in my opinion, but a good option if you’re just in the commercial center *Bars * 1. Tres Monos- world class cocktails and solid snacks in a bit of a dive bar atmosphere; gets crowded so go early or I think you can make a reservation for the new section that opened earlier this year; my favorite cocktail bar in BA 2. CoChinChina- newer cocktail bar with excellent drinks and solid Asian food; nice atmosphere 3. Florería Atlántico- internationally acclaimed cocktail bar, but not the same since the owner and cocktail guru has moved to the US and the previous head bartender went on to open Tres Monos; very cool concept though, but gets extremely crowded since it’s famous so you have to go early or book a table for food; can also wait at the bar next door, which is the same owner and has solid drinks, but not the same experience 4. Rooftop bar at the Alvear Palace Hotel- best for aperitivo when the sun is setting; book a table in advance 5. El Federal- old bar classic bar in San Telmo 6. Uptown- if you want a party, this is a good option; don’t know what the food is like, but you can book a table and eat there to avoid the usually long queues 7. Frank’s- just down the street from Uptown, this is the original speakeasy in BA if you want something more than a bar, but not a massive party *Cafes* 1. Cuervo- my local café in Palermo Hollywood; there is another location in Palermo 2. Oli- another Palermo Hollywood cafe where I would recommend if you want pastries or lunch; excellent brunch option, but gets very busy 3. La Mulata- after Don Julio cafe just a block down Guatemala 4. Coffee Town- good option if you’re in San Telmo market and need a quick coffee 5. Atis- also in San Telmo, but a much nicer atmosphere if you want to have a longer relaxing coffee 6. If you’re interested in the classic Argentinian cafes for the atmosphere and don’t care so much about the coffee itself, you have El Petit Colon and Cafe Tortorni in the center as well as Montecarlo in Palermo Hollywood
I consider this country a fantastic option if you are planning to relocate. Argentina is attractive and huge, the people are friendly, the climate is comfortable and it has a low cost of living. The temporary residency is relatively easy to get if you can prove earnings of approximately $2000 USD per month.
Been here two weeks and have two more weeks to go. Absolutely love this city.
where history whispers from cobblestone streets and the future shimmers in the skyscrapers, all while you dodge stray fútbol matches in the plaza! The last time I was there was few years ago to film one of our TV show episode but I can clearly remember the places I've visited and I absolutely love it!

Wow, she's selling Argentina well. I've visited ARG and I have a different opinion, very old and dilapidated city. The infrastructure (trains/buses are old and falling apart). The food is not that impressive very average in some places. A lot of Argentinians are indeed in a difficult situation for example a lot of them are exposed to starvation which is present in some neighborhoods. They desperately hide their poor and their ingenious population. Ingenious population that is bigger than the Mexican indigenous population in terms of %. Around 13%-14% of Argentinians are ingenious against Mexico's 9% to 10% and this portion of the Mexican population is shrinking at an alarming rate. While in Argentina, I missed things that you can buy in North America (Canada, Mexico, and the US). But there might be people that like Argentina.....

@@user-uo5xq4bm5m sounds like you are describing every large city in the world with regards to decaying buildings and poverty. you have zero sense of romance and sound like you see modernist glass box skyscrapers as your standard of "high class". again, food can be hit and miss depending on where you choose to eat and how much you choose to spend. you repeatedly spell "indigenous" wrong. you fail to mention that Mexico's population is about 40% Mestizo which is mixed race indigenous. but who cares what race people are? almost all of us are mixed to some degree now. you sound like a complete idiot. stay home in North America then. you are NOT a traveler with an attitude and sense of superiority like that.

we spent November and December in Buenos Aires a surprisingly green city. Amazing parks and the tree lined streets of Palermo are wonderful. We are currently in the laid back City of Cordoba which has a great bus terminal to get out and explore. Be sure to take the train to Tigre. We are to Mendoza next. I would say in spite of the economic toil the people of this country are amazing. The only negative thing for us is that the food scene is 20 to 30 years behind the rest of the world. BA was not to bad but spices are not on an Argentinian menu lol. Enjoy the value and hospitality here are unmatched anywhere with maybe the exception of SE Asia.

Can't forget that!!
I grew up in San Telmo, I'm turning 40 this year, the market used to be so so so different in the 90's, it used to be a local market where poeple went to get daily products like meat or veggies, and then it also had a lot of other types of shops, like... you could find a locksmith there! and a pharmacy right at the door (BUT THERE WERE NO RESTAURANTS OR IN DOOR FOOD TRUCKS!). When i lived in San Telmo it wasnt a tourist zone at all, it became more touristy; like Palermo, over the past 2 decades. I'm gratefull that it became worldly known but on the other hand it lost a lot of the daily life. It's no longer the San Telmo i knew. So... i met Flores in 2008, another old neighborhood yet to be conquered. I'm too close to Caballito neighborhood wich means soon this part of my city will also become a most populated, touristy zone. I trully welcome that with all my heart, i wish nothing but growth to my city; i's just NOSTALGIA

Looking forward to more vids from Argentina - a country I've never been. Btw, how do you find the Spanish spoken in Argentina? I stayed with an Argentinian host in one of my places in MX and found his Spanish really hard to understand in comparison to the Mexicans. Maybe that was random - or could it have been typical for Argentinian accent and fast speed?

This year Argentina is going through an economic recession, the exchange rate of the peso to the dollar is stable at 1000 pesos equal to one dollar, inflation is high but is falling month by month, the cost of living in dollars has increased a lot, it is in Argentina's historical values, the economy is on its way to stabilization although the future is uncertain.
