My New Boat and How I Organize It - Bass Boat Tackle Organization

Here's your first look at my new Alumacraft Pro 185 bass boat paired with the all new Evinrude HO G2 115hp engine. The storage space in this boat makes it a joy for tackle organization.
The little red hook holder is made by a company called Gruv Fising - gruvfishing.com/

Love the setup, I just bought a Vexus avx 1880 with the Yamaha 115 and to be honest that boat is all I need , a lot of people think that if you have an aluminum boat it’s because you didn’t have the money for glass but I really don’t glass my boat is awesome

Hey man, if you don’t mind me asking, how do you like it? I’ve found tons of info on trackers and alums crafts but the ranger (the one I want) seems to have less info. I’m looking at the 188 with a double console. Are they stable? Also what size motor did you go with and are you happy with it? Sorry for all the questions but I’m really looking hard at the boats.

I was considering the ranger rt188p and overlooked this alumacraft boat. I like some features of both and might have to look into this model a bit more. I like the rangers battery compartment better with the extra room but your boat doesn't sacrifice the underseat storage which is a plus for me. I don't like the slanted passenger foot rest on the ranger as it takes real estate away from a coangler for his daybag. I however like the built in cooler of the ranger and the new bow graph mount. Seems like boat manufacturers always mis something and nobody makes a perfect boat. I like your setup quite a bit and installing that extra cleat by your gear shift is absolutely genius.

Hey Gene, congratz on the new Crestliner! Mine is going to be ready in about 10 days and I'm ordering a bunch of stuff now so found this video helpful. Couple of things, could you post the name of the hook holder as I really like your idea of using a couple lines of them to store my most used baits or hooks. Second, as someone new to the channel (and please don't hesitate to tell me if you've already done this) but I know you are a fan of the 13 fishing gear and they sponsor you. I'm going to be looking to upgrade a few rods and reels and I was wondering if maybe you could do a video that explains A) what set 13th apart for you that you chose to use them vs other brands other than sponsorship. B) Is it worth it to step up to the higher end (which I'm considering in a couple of other brands) as I would like to get gear I can keep and be satisfied with for a long time, so don't mind spending the money if the benefits are there and worthwhile. C) Your video on what combo is best for what type of fishing was great. Not sure why folks got so hung up on it being "a commercial for 13th" when you said right up front this what about the best type for specific types of fishing. Anyway, I was wondering if you could go a bit beyond the specs and get down into the actual type of construction, feel and value items that set 13th apart. Finally, since you asked for ideas for videos, for guys like me who have to do a lot of shopping via the internet as I don't have a lot of stores close, if you were starting from scratch, (and didn't know everything you know now) how you would go about looking for a high performance rod and reel in bait casting or spinning and the key things you would hone in on, besides the obvious specs. For instance, what components would you like to see, what kind of warranty, which parts are more durable...etc. Something beyond price where you can say, if a rod or reel had these components I would tell you not to buy the "value" or "budget buy" and save up your money to buy this. Great boat and I hope to see you on the water one day!

  • @Flukemaster

The motor bouncing around while trailering is what causes damage to the transom. This stops the bouncing. They also found out the the ones that we’ve been using for years that go from the lower unit to the trailer damage the lower unit.

What made you want to switch back to a 2 stroke motor?

BRP bought Alumacraft. They also own Evinrude. So Evinrude is what I get. So far so good though. I'm holding my opinion until I have over 100 hours on the motor.

They were the only ones that felt that it was important enough to teach people how to use a fish finder. So that's what you will see from me shortly. Fish finder videos. Some talking about Raymarine specifically but most just talking about fish finders in general.

Ok. This is real odd. But I have been subscribed for a while, click on this video...and I'm not subscribed to the channel any longer and I have no idea how that happened.

That transom saver is actually bad for the transom it puts more wear on the transom where a traditional transom saver would put more wear in the trailer

I had a fishing partner almost die because his lower unit fell off while going 60mph. It was caused by the use of the trailer to lower unit style of transom savers. I’ll stick with this new style.
