Those who judge others based on their looks need a kick in the butt. Outward beauty changes, but the beauty of ones heart never fades.
I'm glad that OP and her husband got back together.
First of all, she didn't lie. I think that was something she wanted to keep to herself. She wanted him to fall in love with her and her personality. Not her looks. Wanted the best? To me, like other mother-in-laws in these stories, this mother-in-law only wanted the best for herself. Not her son. Like the others, she kept using family as an excuse to get her way. I'm glad Hana put her in place. Instead of judging Layla's outer beauty, look at how beautiful she is on the inside. Layla loves Yousef and he loves her. Was she really going to try and tear them apart because of her selfish and judgmental ways? I'm glad Yousef learned his lesson as well. Just because your mother tells you something doesn't mean she's right. When it comes to the one you love, all that matters is how you feel. Not what your mother feels or says.
