As an european living in europe I'm used to the fact that there is some sort of "different culture" every 100km (even within nations themselves). For an american this must be awesome af and overwhelming.

the coloseum in pula is not fake. it was also build by the romans. there was a lot of arena like buildings around the roman empire

Oh, it is very much a Roman one; most of their cities had a coliseum. It's just rare for them to still be in such a good condition.

proggen4fun That is true; Romans copied a lot of the Greek culture, and theatres were deeply rooted in the concept of their towns. However, this form of theater, a coliseum - or rather, a _circus_ , is distinctly Roman. It's easily recognisable from its walls, a construction that uses pillars and arches to reduce the mass of solid stone in order to build higher. This was made possible by a Roman version of cement, a tool that hadn't been available to the Greeks.

If you are born in Berchtesgaden, you don't forget how beautiful your home is. It's like being upon a vulcano in bali or in a norwegian Fjord and thinking "really nice, but at home it is at least as beautiful as here." so thankful to live in one of the most magnificent places in germany!

It would actually benefit him since the euro makes everything in Italy and Croatia more expansive then it would have been if he exchanged US $ or German Marks.

Loved how you showed your mom these parts of Europe, i hope more america citizens take their Chance to visit this variety of cultures and people all around of Europe.

You only visited a very small piece of Croatia...arguably the most beautiful country in the world. You need to visit the islands of Hvar, Brac, Korcula, Vis and the city of Split and neighbouring towns of Trogir and Sibenik. The Krka Waterfalls and the waterfall town of Rastoke are a must and amongst the most beautiful natural sites you will ever visit. And of Course you cant miss the big draw cards of Rovinj and Dubrovnik but the whole country could be declared a national park ...it is that good.

He's back! And with a HUGE smile on his face.

The Croatian lakes you were on, are respponsible for one of the main impressions Germans had of America. Haha. The Winnetou movies were made there, which are hugely popular here. It's the old west for us ;)

And the Spaghetti western are all shot in the Tabernas desert, near Almeria, Spain. There are still many locations from Clint Eastwood movies that are possible to visit.

The Plitvice lakes are beautiful. Been there in the mid 70's. @@runear1 If I remember well, tolls are mostly in the south around Oslo, Kristiansand and Stavanger. For the rest roads were free. Only the many ferries cost some money. Travelled twice from the Nordkapp to Oslo by car. Amazing experience!

Yes I watched the final of the world cup 2018 and every. single. Croatian was freaking out! We were all so proud to be second and the atmosphere was breathtaking

I used to bring my mum to China (she never been out of Europe) and I remember how happy she was discovering the world...

If you stop calling it colosseum and call it amphitheater instead, you are right. There only exists one colosseum and it's name derives from a colossal statue standing in front of it the first few hundred years. The colosseum is not *a* colosseum but *the* colosseum. It's not a name for this kind of buildings (that'd be amphitheaters, and there are few of them that remained over the time) but for this particular building.

I lived my first 16 years of my life in Germany and never went to those places...it is a shame... I def have to do that. Hope you like it in my country Croatia :D I live near Split and it is also worth to see ... just a recommendation for next time. btw it is not really a fake Colosseum...the Romans did build several in Croatia as well... this one is just one of a few which are nearyl perfectly preserved ;)
