That's me for decades. But he can do an apprenticeship here.

So my Grandfather Heinz Poike and my mother Heike Poike came from Germany and it was always my plan to go visit Germany one time in my life and see where my roots came from. Studied German in high school and have more to learn but my grandfather passed away from a sudden stroke and my mother was killed by a gunman in her home so I have no idea if I will ever make it but at least I am experiencing the country through you and your videos and I am truly grateful for your videos because of this. I wonder what the safety factor is on that bridge? Do they load test it periodically? I might walk across that bridge jn Germany. But the same bridge in China? No way!

Your videos are the only videos on which I press the like button right in the beginning without having really watched them. You haven‘t managed to disappoint me, yet. 😊

Living half an hour by car to the Alps I´m hiking quite frequently. Never gets boring. I first used the sticks to support my knees at lengthy walking down the mountains (bad experience). But once you are used to them they don´t annoy anymore, they become useful at slippery paths. For me, Berchtesgaden is the more beautiful Alpine region. There are good websites to find the best tour...from a relaxed half-hour tour to multi-day tours with overnight stays in mountain huts. Don't underestimate the risk and the weather! Great content, btw.

Pretty much my thought at those shots about Germans and the walking sticks. Up the mountain isn't the problem. The way down is when your knees start reminding you of every second helping and every slice of cake you had in the last twenty years.

I do not understand how you don’t have 500k or a million subscribers.

How can one set of parents produce the most incredible set of 5 Gorgeous sons and 1 gorgeous girl? All 5 brothers could appear on the cover of Mens Health Magazine and that issue would sell out and become a collectors item!! All 5 boys have incredible physiques and beyond goodlooking!!!

Really want to go to Bavaria and have some pretzels now. Haven’t been home in almost 3 years.

This bridge is terrifying! I'm really impressed that you walked over it at all so no need to feel ashamed.

Some minor note: The Suspension Bridge is not located in the German Alps but this is close to Reutte in Austria and called "Highline 179", connecting the castle ruin Ehrenberg with the remains of Fort Claudia.

Beautiful mountains, beautiful scenery, beautiful castles and beautiful people! NALF has passed down third wheel status to MALF.

Used to laugh about walking sticks. I was young and dumb. Then I hiked up to the Zugspitze for 12 hours. And hiked from Oberstdorf Germany to Meran Italy over the alps for 6 days. I wouldn't have knees right now without sticks. Especially for (surprisingly) hiking DOWN. It's a must have tool.

I am glad you like this little Spot in the world. This is near where I live. Excellent drone footage!

Nick, you were brave. I am scared of heights also. I couldn't do that. Brave man.

The castle was awesome. I have been inside. It is amazing

This bridge reminds me of the mandrills scene in Jumanji - The Next Level! The scary part is that you can look through the bridge when looking down. Great drone shots!

Actually, the bridge and this particular Burg Ehrenburg are in Austria, just outside Reutte in Tirol.

What a wonderful video, Nalf, you made my day! It made me forget about all the horrible things we can't avoid seeing. And finally you have to acknowledge that Bavarian Butterbrezels are better than those in BaWü! And it is so funny to see how Laura gets you climbing up the mountains and walk on wobbly scary bridges. I fully understand that you went back because I have the same problem and in my opinion human beings are created to walk on solid ground. Walking sticks may seem bizarre to you but they are good for us elderly people to do a kind of workout because when you do Nordic Walking you activate not only your legs but also arms and shoulders. Mikey is really the cherry on the cake, when he got "lost" you reacted like a dad would do. Please, please more of such videos!

Very nice video, maybe consider visiting the Breitach Klamm near Oberstdorf when it is open again, it is a really stunning experience from my memories.

Too bad you didn't get to see the kings bedroom. His writing throne/desk is awesome, made of carved wood. Back in the 80s they wouldn't let us take pictures.

Absolutely lost it when you walked up the hill backwards after laughing at the walking sticks LMAO Its even worse when walking downhill

We normally rip the legs of the brezel before we eat it and when we are finished we put a chunk of butter on them. You get the crunch with butter as a nice finishing. But this would not be possible with the bavarian brezel you had in the video. Have fun and a good day

Nachdem der österreichische Vielvölkerstaat den WWI verloren hat, strebten alle Nationen der ehemaligen Monarchie die Unabhängigkeit an. Due to the pandemic, the Schwäbisch Haller Dreikönigslauf will take place this time on 29 May. That would be a great challenge for your little brother and you! 10 kilometres through Schwäbisch Hall. You could make a great video and maybe beat your brother in the run? Or will he win? ;-) It would be great if you ran with us! Normally the run is in winter when you are in the USA.

what about the crunchy arms/legs, which makes a Swabian butterbrezel so special? Bavarian style makes no difference between crunchy legs and the buttery thicker but softer part. If you choose the Bavarian style, you can put butter on Laugenweckle which ist then pretty much the same.

It took me five tries to actually cross that bridge. But only once. After that I chose the long way down the mountains from the other side. My hands instantly start sweating whenever I see that place. Terrifying for sure!

I tried to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge years ago. Couldn't make it more than a few steps. The swaying and movement under my feet paralyzed me. You did good making it as far as you did.

I know how you feel about the Butterbrezn. I'm caught up in a never-ending contest of Zimtschnecken (cinnamon buns). However, I do love a good Butterbrezn too 🥨😋 and I would say it does not necessarily depend on the region (Swabia, Bavaria or else) that makes one better than another. There are just so many different ways of making it. I bet every artisan baker has their own recipe and chains such as the Brothaus serve an average taste anyway. I love their rye bread btw. From Scotland with love 🙂, don't mind seeing more drone footage of the Highlands accommodated in the Swabian vlogs 👍.

5:05 Highline179 is not the longest pedestrian bridge in the world. The 516 Arouca Bridge in Portugal is over 100m longer. 516m vs 408m. The Titan RT Bridge in the Harz Mountains is also longer with 483m.

i was in neuschwanstein twice but hte second time but the way we got up was wild xD and there are real hiking paths but that is something different

My thought exactly.😆 But it seems Nick is clever enough to remember that he can get rid of him sooner by introducing him to the area where he him self got found by a lovely flower. 😏 Making a fourwheeler out of that tricicle could be the beginning of a great gocart tour 😁

I would love to see Nick try the trail and cables to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park.😱

The bavarian butter pretzel versus the swabian butter pretzel has no crunchy thin part, more like saltsticks at the low part of the pretzel where the dough is crossed. Assuming that is because swabian have a reputation of being stingy? But maybe it’s only because some people exactly like this crunchy and less doughy part? I think one of the best butter pretzel can be found at „Krimmers Backstub“ in Untermünkheim or at „BäckerMann in Berlin! Give both a try, if you find the chance.

Besides my fiancee, Nick found the cutest German girl on earth. Due to Mikey's very great sense of humor it won't be long and the Alferi family lost his second son to an other German beauty .... Go for it Mikey - we have plenty left.... 😂

My first thought: "Bavarians can't walk without their walking sticks... US-Americans circumvent that problem by not walking at all!" smart 😉 (I say mockingly from my home office job having walked a max. of maybe 1000 m today 🙄)

Just fyi for everyone who might want to go there: the bridge is in Austria. 😅 Personally I also find it scary and would probably never walk across it.

You will absolutely love the Titan RT in Harz. 458 meter span located right next to the Rappbodetalsperre.

For sure bavarian Brezels are better than others. It is one of the things I miss most here in Frankfurt . Enjoy it, KNALF!

Walking sticks: They were used in the Alps already before "Nordic Walking" was trending. By that time they used their skiing sticks. In the alps it can be helpful in glitchy places - which you see now and then here and there - mud, snow, ice... then it is good to have "4 legs"

Besides the german version of Machu Picchu is located in Austria.
