@@jennysneckpillow1971 Actually, do force them. My parents didn't force me to learn Korean as a kid. And, it's one of my biggest regrets in life. It's extremely hard to learn a language later in life if you aren't naturally language skilled.

But i think gunhoo is having speech delay because he’s confused on which language to use (his appa, mama, even abuela all speak different languages). So i guess each kid is different in their ability to learn languages

Anna said they dont force naeun to learn these languages. They do it naturally. Anna speaks to her in straight German JooHo speaks to her in straight Korean while Anna's Mom speaks to her in spanish. And she picks up english along the way or when watching movies/tv . Im still amazed how this baby do this. I think you cant force this to kids. But if you do what they are doing to their kids as early as possible they will adopt quickly. Kids learn a lot quicker than adults i guess 💓 and im sure gunhoo will be the same as her noona.

I speak three languages thanks to my parents. I grew up speaking my mother tongue at home, German in school and friends. Later I learned English once I got in college. It’s not hard to learn any language when you are young.

Anna only speaks German and English to her kids while Jooho speaks only in Korean, so the kids can learn without getting confused. This is the best way to teach your kids to be bilingual.

TRI-lingual. You mentioned three languages. Bi means two. Tri means three. If she also speaks Spanish one could simply say multilingual, as in multiple.

Anna has said in an interview that Aciel Gunhoo's babbles are "Germanized Korean" [the term she used]

For everyone who doesn't speak German. They are in Switzerland and there they have a different language that sounds similar to German. But as you can see many of them speak German too, but they have an accent which can be hard to understand even for native germans. So respect to Naeun for communication even with them having an accent. She is really good.

Naeun and the swiss auntie speak high german. Naeun speaks well for her age but makes mistakes a native child wouldn't. Kaya doesn't use dialect with her. The other people they might do talk swiss german, but it's not too different. (source: am swiss).

Parents - key for success introduce your children to few languages. At 7 I was fluently speaking 4 languages, with help of books, cartoons etc, then at school learnt French & Spanish. I’m 33 now, speak 8 languages & learning Korean now with my children. They’re learning so much faster than me for sure.

I learnt english and korean but end up like forgetting some words from my Indonesian and javanese as my mother&national language. 😆😆😆 it's often mixed up and sometimes i have a hard time to remember some words. For me as a swiss person it‘s incredible to see that she even understood when they spoke to her in swiss german since it‘s different from normal german! She really is a language genius. Oh and I was on Rigi Mountain just 2 months ago with my fiancé’s korean family. They loved it! I can really recommend going there!

Good idea and you might need to consider adding in Drippin Alex from Mainz. Pretty much live along this Railway line Haputstrecke Karlsruhe Duisburg via Mainz Hbf. What I did there was combine Kpop German Line with the British Dovetail games train Sim 21 and Train Sim World routes that go pass their hometowns.

Thank goodness Naeun is not too mischievous and she really translates and ask for what’s needed. I hope she continues to retain every language as she grows up

It was kbs themselves who give most of screentime to Gunhoo because he didn't have much expose when Park Family first joined TROS and Gunhoo was still baby back then. Anna even sad (she said it on her insta) because naeun has been neglected even she had tried her best

She wont she exclusively talks to her mother in german and english and her grandmother in spanish and her father in korean. Plus her mother and granparents are multi lingual her gentics and environment are both inclined to be easily and fluently good at languages compared to someone who doesnt have both genetic and environmental advantage add to the fact shes lived in both countries and travels regularly enough that she can also easily experience the culture first hand and interact with locals so thats just cementing her natural abilities. It would be extremely unlikely shed forget any languages.

After their first birthday this ability disapears. Long story short: There is no genetic advantage for her.

nctzens Depending on where they usually live, the children will have higher language ability in one language more than the others. Too much variation in language can also cause a delay in language development. People also do not develop multiple languages EQUALLY. Gunwoo and Naeun's Korean language ability is much lower than Rawon and HaO.

I love how she effortlessly navigates between their 2 names. Around Koreans she uses their Korean names. Around non Koreans/ Westerners she uses their « western » names

Even if we don’t teach kids a different language, if they keep on hearing that from anyone, they can learn it. Just like me. In Philippines, we have different languages/dialects, nobody taught me Bisayan dialect but I can understand and speak it because I keep on hearing it from my family when I was young, though they only talk to me in Tagalog language. I’m fluent in Bisaya but more confident in Tagalog.
