@@jasminweird2531 that's me when I go back to my mum's side..the only difference is it's still within the same country but it's a whole different language than the national language spoken. I'm Malaysian, there's east and west Malaysia which is separated by the South China Sea. In eastern Malaysia a.k.a Borneo there's over 300 ethnicity with different cultures and similar language but totally different than the standard Malay language.

I feel like it is because of her mom teaching. She said for naeun to be genius in language like that each parent has to speak just 1 language to the kid so the kid isnt confused and understand that every adult has their own language to communicate. So eden mom always speak german and call her eden while father speak korean and call her naeun. Then she knew when to speak germany and being eden and to whom speak korean and being naeun. I think this is crucial because i have a friend who said that her colleague's child speak late because the parents are multiracial couple, they mix the language and the baby confused and talk late... 😌 eventually after long time the child can talk in his native language where he was born but not the foreign family language..

@@nekonekoabc that also happened to one of celeb in my country. She is multiracial, she said she even had kinda of depression when she was kid bcs everytime she met new people, she doesn't know which language she need to use. Thus she prefer not talk to anyone at that time.

I feel for Park Joohoo, sometimes our brains can't learn a new language.

Children before age 7 can absorb things real fast. It is best that they learn languages before 7. They can learn up to 10 languages.

Yup, he does understand a little bit, he's just not confident in speaking. Plus, he's a very shy and awkward with stranger and moreover the quiet type, it's just difficult for him to strike up a conversation with people in general. Just watch the clip where Naeun and Sian meet, Donggook tries so hard to keep up a convo with him. xD

I think she's just happy to have a conversation in language other than Hangul. I'm like that with Egyptian arabic and without anyone to converse with I've already forgotten even the simple phrases 😁

But yes I can relate to your last sentence. I used to speak khmer (cambodian language) but now I can only understand what people are saying (just the kiddy language, since that was all I spoke as a kid) but when I think of a sentence it’s impossible. I find it hard with english at times and that’s the only language I speak now smh... Maybe I’m just dumb

And I'm here who can't even speak fluently in her own language

that was me as a kid. I used to speak khmer when I lived in cambodia and it was hilarious. i can hear all the remarks towards me and my dad and they’re joking and having a laugh about our foreign ways (mostly my dads bc i was literally born in there) but little did they know... I was mixed...

He does understand a bit of German because of his wife and his time in Germany, but I think he's more used to English because the coaches mostly speak in English due to their international players. Also, it's been a while since he was in Germany, so I think while he actually understands some German, he just isn't confident in speaking. He's also rather shy and the quiet type, when it comes to strangers or people in general. Just watch the clip when his kids and Dongguk's meet, he's *very* shy. xD

if you're fluent in german you clearly notice how she sometimes struggles to speak german and she sometimes just says throws some letters together and its not understandable but it is still impressing how she still managed to keep a conversation with them and that they understood her and even complimented her for her german. i'm sure her dad is sometimes a bit sad since he wants to understand everything his precious daughter is saying. parents love seeing their children getting new experience and seeing naeun having a conversation in a complete different language than his.. i am sure he is very impressed and i kinda feel like he also tries to understand her conversations with foreign people.

Noufa Althigah she was born in argentina and then her family moves to germany . She knows Spanish because her mother is Argentinian and also they can speak Italian there. German and English because she lives in Germany.

I‘m from Germany and even for me the German Grammar is really hard i‘m in 9th grade now and i still don‘t know anything about the Grammar, because it‘s really hard

Yes, plus, it could be a great family bonding activity! The dad could go to some German learning lessons and Naeun can help him. I'm pretty sure it will happen in the future though as more people are expressing this concern ; it will probably reach him soon.

Let’s all remember that the mom may not appear in all the episodes throughout TROS but that doesn’t mean that she’s not behind the scenes monitoring what Eden is saying and off cameras Eden’s mom will keep track of everything since she also speaks the language.

Alexa Fer But this whole series point is to see how a dad can take care of his kids for 48 hours without their mom presence... During the 48 hours, the mom is offered free time for herself... It wouldn't make sense for Naeun's mom to stay behind the scenes since it would defeat the main purpose of the show.... Plus, why would she be calling them if she is already on the show site? She could just speak to them behind the scenes, so no, she is not with them Source: Been watching this show for 2 years

I mean in the end it’s „normal“ for reality tv that most of it is sort of staged. And I don’t speak Korean but I am German so I think it’s just like how every toddler speaks but maybe not being in a German-speaking country has some influence on it
