If there will be more SbB19 reaction with your mom, I want to recommend their ballad song, I recommend 'ilaw' the most, it's their best ballad song for me so far, it has no MV but there's official lyrics video you can react to, also recommend you to the live concert performance of it too, try SB19 ilaw Pagtatag Manila Day 1, or SB19 ilaw on Round Festival Jakarta, I can't really choose between these two actually 😅, it will be happiest for me if you can even just react to both concert performance, if not too much to ask hehe ilaw performance on Pagtatag Manila Day 1 is my most favourite so far, it's very brutally emotional, they all seems equally falling deep into the song. Stell has the energy that seems unlimited. And his voice is the most stable I've ever heard in my life.He dances like there's no tomorrow,not missing a single beat. And he can still belt wow!!

Mana is short from 'Manananggal' which is a mythical creature from Phillippines that will leaves its lower body somewhere and fly with only its upper body to search for a prey. Pablo as the lyricist use it as a metaphor of SB19 that no matter where they go to reach they dream, they will always stay grounded

Oh my, your Mom's amazing. I can relate with her. I'm 60 y/o and I can still appreciate the songs of our SB19, they sing different genres, and I love all of it. It warms my heart that you have your Mom by your side for a while and doing things like reacting to music together. SB19 got trained by a theatrical actress, and they do watch and support theater(Stell is a big Broadway fan). Their recent winning awards from Wish were donated to PETA(Philippines Educational Theater Association). They are great performers, got to see them live last year. AAA has 2 versions for the performances. The stage and broadcast. SB19 opened for AAA so we got their concert hype turn up the heat songs 😊 SB19 is a vocal performer group. 4:55 this is exactly why I love listening to music in different languages --- sometimes not understanding the lyrics allows me to connect with the emotions of the song even more.

Most songs, if not all, have very meaningful interpretations because that's just how Pablo composes them. Mana has a complicated meaning as it is short for a monster in Filipino folklore but Pablo used it as a metaphor. Mapa is a tribute to parents or anyone who was like a parent to us. They usually have english subs for most of their official MVs or lyric videos. You can see how deep they can go in terms of intent or subject matter.

Your mom is on point. Their showmanship is great. It's addicting to see them live. I've been to 4 of their concerts and related events just last year. And a total of 9 events since 2020. If time and money aren't a problem, I'll probably watch all their live events. 🤣

One thing that we can relate to people in Mexico is they are family oriented just like in Ph. It's good to sit and watch good videos with your parents.

Your mom got it right - SB19 are showmen and storytellers. Check out the English translations of their songs and you will find out how good a lyricist Pablo is (he wrote almost all of their songs). And their choreographies also always align with the lyrics which make their performances really shine (Stell, their lead vocalist, did the choreography for many of their songs too). &Team, the group that danced with SB19 towards the end of the performance, did a behind-the-scenes video for this performance and one member of that group did mention that they were inspired to perform better because they could tell that SB19 was really passionate about performing. So your Mom was right on the dot with her statement.

Yes, your mom is right about the storytelling. Pablo actually writes their songs. Other members also write their own songs and also contributed to some parts of their songs, but so far, he's the lyricist for all of them. And since 2021, he's also been the brains to their melodies and composes them. He then enlists the help of music producers and lately he's producing their music with his brother Josue under the name "Radkidz". His songs have some signature features: lyricism is witty and poetic (especially in Tagalog), the titles of the songs always ALWAYS is a wordplay and has multiple meanings, and lastly, the melodies he puts in his songs evoke emotions as he intended the lyrics to be, which in turns makes for great storytelling. Just watch their MV for "WHAT" and listen to the music, it is like the "Bohemian Rhapsody" of PPop which travels all over and takes you to a rollercoaster ride. It will be difficult to understand and appreciate the meaning of the lyrics unless you know the history of SB19, but just like Bohemian Rhapsody, the key is to let the music take you because it was made like that--a storytelling, an amalgamation of their own experiences, motivations, frustrations and hope. To this day, it remains an anthem for all of PPop. Starting with WHAT, I totally agree that SB19's songs feels very broadway-ish and I personally find Pablo comparable to Lin Manuel Miranda, not really in style of composition, but in the way they try to convey messages to the audience, utilizing not only words but also the music itself to deliver intentions and emotions. (I was quickly shut down by a fan of LMM, however, but I guess I just failed to elaborate my point, given that Twitter does have a character limit per post.) Anyways, even Pablo's own solo projects have a story to tell in them. All of SB19's songs may be varied in genre and message, but they are somehow related to one another. It's as if Pablo's weaving a story with every song he puts out there. I can totally see him compose for a Broadway production because Pablo himself is very clear with his vision in every song he composes, and he clearly communicates these visions to his team. There is this very skilled Canada-based Filipino music producer and vlogger/Ytuber named Simon Servida who Pablo had enlisted to produce music for a lot of SB19's songs (majority of them from SB19's latest 2 EPs). Simon has released a lot of behind-the-scenes videos on the music production for the songs he and Pablo collaborated on. You will find in Simon Servida's YT channel just how extremely meticulous and particular Pablo is with his intentions for his songs. Besides Simon Servida, Pablo has been known to collaborate with producers like Jay Durias (an extremely well-known veteran in OPM (Original Filipino/Pinoy Music) known for his ballads and serenades), and Ohwon Lee (their music producer from back then who produced the song "Go Up" which became extremely viral overnight and gave SB19 their much-needed break) to name a few.

Pablo's famous quote (in reference to their live performances) is, "It's okay to make a mistake, but not now." 😊 Yup, he's a perfectionist with his craft! And we can see that with the music that he's written and produced/co-produced! He's a great storyteller and even his MV's and music production are always cinematic (he's released a new song with his brother, josue, called DETERMINADO). Mother and son are both so keen with your observations - impressive! Your mom is so right about the members doing their own thing at times but still fits in the performance - while they may show their individuality onstage and do seemingly unrehearsed moves within a choreography, Josh mentioned before that even these sponstaneous moves and ad libs, he already thinks about them and visualizes them before he executes them in the actual performance. Stell's energy is really something else - on- and offstage!!! He's probably the most stable vocalist I've ever heard in my life, doing hard-hitting choreo while singing or belting - and he never misses a beat or never goes out of tune! Probably one of the best vocalists in the world of this generation (you might want to check out his live solo performance of All By Myself and Defying Gravity from their concerts, and even SB19 performing LIHAM on The Voice Generations when he was sick with fever and had clogged nose but still slayed it!).

Though the stage and the venue is not as big as the AAA, the energy they give out is still more than 100%. Your mom is on point with entertainers.. if you want to know their story, there’s this interview with Toni Gonzaga (but i think the show do a lot of copyright of this interview) but it’s one the very fist interview i watched that got me interested with SB19.. For a little bit of background with this performance, here’s my theory of the song choices: SB19 song choices in AAA: Opening it with GENTO, shouting “Pilipinas” in the intro gets the Filo crowd, SB19 letting them know this is for the Philippines.. The first part that was sung signifies how their hard-work and how they get to be where they are now.. Mana - the verse choice making it known that Heaven and Earth meeting might seem impossible but they make it possible, having been negated as copycats of kpop and yet here they are representing their country in front of asian artists.. who would’ve known this is possible? Who? Bazinga - 3rd song speaks how the hate of those negative peeps fuel their passion and motivation to be better than their best performance each time they perform.. Crimzone - simply put : BLOOD, SWEAT and TEARS.. knowing how they went through before this performance with regards to their label with their former agency.. you can feel that this moment is hard-earned.. Then we go back to GENTO, with &Team collab.. SB19 is a real genius in this arrangement! This shows how their journey as a group now makes an influence to foreign artists as well.. how much prouder would you feel that before Filos dance to foreign music, and now we watch other countries dancing to OUR music.. that’s Filipino Pride right there! If the outro doesn’t shout ASTIG, i don’t know what is.. This was a well thought of arrangement… 🥰

hello, max! thank you for reacting to this. i'm specifically here for &TEAM (the group SB19 collaborated with for part of the performance). they were the reason i went to AAA too (and yes, i can 100000% confirm that their combined energy on stage was absolutely insane and got me absolutely screaming and bouncing in my seat like good lORD--) anyway, this came to me while your mom was talking about how it's hard to be so in sync with so many people, but i just wanted to point out that SB19 and &TEAM didn't get to practice together until the day before AAA. both groups practiced a lot on their own for sure, but it's still amazing how they were both so synchronized during the final performance. if the &TEAM and SB19 members didn't mention it themselves [that they only got to meet and practice together the night before AAA], i definitely wouldn't have been able to tell otherwise. anyway, i appreciate your videos very much! i'm hoping to see some &TEAM on your channel too at some point. if it happens, i'll be sure to share it to all the LUNÉ (&TEAM's fandom name) i know on twitter! thank you for what you do 💖

Those weren't back up dancers at the end joining SB19 that was the 9 member Japanese based group &Team. They did a awesome job here. Both SB19 and &Team also won awards that night.

Wow, I didn't expect this. I thought you just do reactions to performances on patreon. I like your mom. She seems like a very cool person. All of them have their own good individual personalities that will vibe to different fans. For me it's Stell coz he's always the life of the party, very funny and warm guy. Like a close friend even if you've just met him. And you're right, he's the most energetic, like he never gets tired, be it vocally or dancing wise. Besides being the main vocalist, he's also their main choreographer. The 3 rappers Pablo, Josh, and Ken all have swag and the youngest, Justin is another one with sunshine personality just like Stell but a bit quiet and shy. Stell is the only extrovert in the group. 😊

When (am not saying 'if' cause I am sure you will one day) you come to the Philippines, I hope you can time it so you can attend an SB19 concert. It's a totally different experience when you attend one in their home country, although they still do give their best every time they perform, no matter the location.
