I swear the worst part about homeownership in a 4-season area is the dang leaves in the fall. Even with a blower it’s a full weekend project if you have lots of leaves.

Oh my gosh yes and we have so many trees that are still green and have yet to fall so more like a month process haha

I hear ya about stress, I work from home so I have to keep my Mini Aussie occupied. His favorite game is playing with a balloon, he goes crazy. It is the closest thing to herding sheep!!

WE moved across the country when we had 4 dogs, so there couldn't be a gentle transition. Three of them did really well, but the fourth one, a heeler, had a hard time going from living in the country to living in town. It's just as stressful to them as it is to us.

Yes, every morning, as I'm dressing, my mini Aussie sniffs my clothes as I'm putting them on. I assume she's tuning into my scent for the day so I can be tracked and herded. It's what she does, it's part of who she is.

Yes my dog always smells my pants to know what I'm going to do. Thank you for the home tour. I really enjoyed it. The progress you've made it remarkable. And your dad is a wonderful person to help you so much. I have a similar dad who has helped me through every move I made. You are a great dog dad. The dogs are super sweet and love you so much.

Joey I know what you are saying. When I moved from Florida to North Carolina it was a big change. We had to live in an apartment while my house was being redone, but they love living in the country and have fun roaming the farm.

My attitude to leaves has always been in the name leave them there. It’s great for pollinators and I don’t have to do the work.

I agree with you but in certain areas ahah some spots in our yard they would just stay wet, soggy and mold. just end up being a swamp lol

It's really cool to see a properly done vlog-style video by a dedicated creator from Ottawa. I find most things from Ottawa are just about Ottawa. This channel is a nice relief. A peaceful one too.

What a beautiful home you are making for your family. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see the final product. I also stressed last year as we were bringing home a new puppy and were just starting major renovations on our home but all the dogs are just going with the flow and its going well.

The leaves are technically good compost for your lawn but that is a tone of leaves........ Hopefully it doesn't suffocate your lawn because of the quantity.... Hope you are able to take it one step at a time and maybe prioritize the gutters since that will cause more of a problem with water accumulation. As for what you are doing to make the dogs comfortable I think you are doing amazing!!!!!!! The look super happy and comfortable already and I'm sure the more you live there the more they will feel at home and safe :) I think you being there makes the dogs feel safe as well so take a second to feel calm as well :)

Yeah we have a lot of raking to do but it will get done :) and yes I am waiting for all the leaves to fall before i do the gutters so it is once and done ahha

I grew up on an acre with lots of trees. All we did all fall was rake, rake, and rake some more. Then the wind would blow and we ended up with the neighbors leaves in the yard.

If You're Happy and enjoying yourself an at ease the dogs will follow suit you did a nice job on your place but honestly as long as you're happy and comfortable you could live in a cave and they would be okay with it
