You summed it up perfectly. He was a young, successful, good looking, and already wealthy young man in his 20s who could have had a girl in every town but he met the love of his life in beautiful Linda and was devoted to her until her far too early death.

Harri, Paul was in a league of his own when it came to love songs. Linda was indeed the love of his life. Please note though, that many early Beatles love songs by Paul were inspired by Jane Asher, his love during that particular period of time.

Here, There and Everywere is one of Paul's own favorites. He recorded it at 24 so his voice is still quite pure...

I saw Paul do this live in Atlanta GA on his wings over America tour. RIP Linda. You were a beautifu woman and a damn good backup vocalist.

This, and Maybe I'm Amazed are my all time favorite love songs. Paul voice was so pure, and his lover's soul just shines when he sings his "silly love" longs. Honestly, though I am a divorced person, I can only hope to find a loving, enduring, relationship like his and Linda's...that LOVE has been immortalized in his music, and exemplified in his life.

The lyric " Only my love holds the other key... to me."...Are the most heart melting words, that only people with a long lasting love for each other could ever really understand.

I still can't listen to here today without weeping. Here today gets me in the gut every time. My Love is a beautiful song...one of my favorites from the MelodyMaster... it never ceases to amaze me that these awesome and memorable melodies just popped into his head! No music training, no theory to guide him if he got stuck and didn't know where to take the melody next. Just. Sheer. Genius.

Harri. You seem like a really lovely human being. I agree the "My Love" is a masterpiece of love and music ... All for Linda. I do have another song from Paul in 1997 called "Beautiful Night" from the Flaming Pie album. This song is produced by George Martin with a huge number of violins as well as other instruments including great horns. I'm a Paul lover since I was 2 in 1966 and "Beautiful Night" just blew my mind. I am subbed with notifications. You have such a nice spirit and you even made this 56 year old tear up. You can't discount "maybe I'm amazed" it's also a great love song.

Love songs: Maybe I'm Amazed from his first solo album (McCartney) and I'm Carrying. Both will get you.

This song is a rock and roll masterpiece. And with so few words!

Can you just imagine the literally millions of people touched by this ... millions upon millions ... as long as we have electricity we'll have this masterpiece to touch all of humanity.

The recording of My Love was basically completed, when it came time to record the orchestration and guitar solo. Paul had composed a guitar solo for Irish born guitarist Henry McCullough to play. This solo was to be recorded live, with the orchestra. Moments before the session was to begin, Henry told Paul he was going to play his own solo and not the one Paul had written. Paul wasn't at all happy with this and was quite concerned with this last minute change. Orchestra recording sessions are incredibly expensive and Paul feared the solo would not fit the song and many takes would be required to get the solo just right. . Paul needn't have worried because, in only one take, Henry played one of the most iconic guitar solos ever put to tape. So perfect was Henrys solo that every guitarist whoever played My Love, after Henry left Wings, plays it note for note. Best wishes Harri, RNB

A brilliant solo, that might never had seen the light of day. To me, the most impressive part of this story Harri is Paul. How many Mega-Superstars would've been so willing to turn the guitar solo to basically his sideman, on perhaps their greatest love song, without hearing a single note? Creativity stifled is creativity lost. RNB

That shows a degree of trust that would be hard for me… Paul is protective of his music like his children, lol, so I understand his reservations. I’m glad Henry came through for him there. But I wonder how Band on the Run would have turned out if Paul didn’t have that hardship or recording in Africa with only Linda and Denny.

@@thesilvershining McCartney, Ram, Wild Life and Red Rose Speedway all show Paul trying (in some cases succeeding) to find his footing. I think My Love was the song that signaled (as a solo artist and ex Beatle) Paul had arrived. When he got that solo from Henry, it must've been energizing. Having your song dynamically improved when you least expect it are those moments songwriters live for. Till then, Denny was more a sounding board than an equal. Henry reacquainted Paul with the benefits of true collaboration. When it came time for Band On The Run, Paul was a reinvigorated artist. I'll bet his thinking was, 'Sod those two if the don't want to make an album' His confidence had been fully restored and his confidence was growing. Made a fine album to boot. Cheers, RNB

Wings were one of the best bands of the 70`s , completely overshadowed by Paul`s Beatles past obviously , they produced some of the best music of the era and this is one of my favorite Wings and indeed McCartney songs ever.

This song has performed wonders to me. It gives some kind of hope. It made me cry...yeah, it did.

About the love of his life, Linda.

My Love was one of the few songs McCartney composed after the Beatles I really loved.

I was at this show on 10 June 1976 at the Kingdome in Seattle. It was the first major concert in that building and I bought myself a ticket as my high school graduation present Jimmy McCulloch's solo was awesome. "Maybe I'm Amazed" with Jimmy and Denny Laine sharing two of the most incredible guitar solos I have ever seen. Seeing Wings and then seeing Led Zeppelin in '77 were the two best shows that building ever hosted. Well, that didn't involve "The Kid" (aka Ken Griffey, je.). Ichiro or "Garr" (aka Edgar Martinez) anyway. LOL!!

Sorry to be picky but Uncle Albert/ Admiel Halsey is just before Wings fromthe Ram album and is a Paul and Linda song It was issued as a single US onlu as the BBC objeced to the word " bloody " in the song. Pretty Mild really after working Class Hero , wihere Johm Lennon.had the use of the f word on that track But there goes the then BBC for you at this time

@@kylebakke594 Ram got poor reviews following after George Harrison All Things Must Pasd and john Lennon.zimagine at a time when all the solo albums of the Beatlrs were being compared with each others on first appearance as new releases Mighty works though the full albums by John and Gerge may be, there is something about Ram that keeps pulling me back to it even after 50 years.. Every so often I just have to play it all over agsin

Just beautiful! I've always loved this song, both musically and vocally.

Man it's beautiful to see another man love this incomparable genius his singing, his Songwriting and his overall contribution to the world of music. I've been a Beatles fan since "A Hard Days Night" was released world wide in 1964 I was 13. I went in the theatre all on my own and came out knowing what I wanted to do and Paul McCartney has been my musical inspiration ever since. Love John, George and Ringo too. But McCartney stands above every Artist that ever sang and wrote a note in my opinion and that says a lot considering Stevie Wonder, "Walter Becker and Donald Fagan from Steely Dan" and many incredible songwriters, musicians and artists including Weather Report, Earth Wind and Fire, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Everly Brothers, Bob Dylan, etc. McCartney sings, writes, plays and feels like no one else. Listening to your reactions to this man's contribution was classic. Fits of laughter and absolutely supportive of every sentiment you expressed. Love you man.🙏🏽🙏🏻🙏🏿😄😁😅🤩🤣💙💜💛🤎🐞🐞🐞🐞🎤🎼🎵🎶🎹🎸🎙️

I’m a woman but it absolutely warms my heart to see men who not only understand but also gravitate to the warmth, sensitivity, and unique beauty of a lot of McCartney’s music. He’s not one bit afraid to show vulnerability even though he is one of the most secure & confident male artists who is genuinely positive and loves what he does. He is all about touching hearts and making audiences happy through music. And I think that’s a very special priceless gift!

He sang that song perfectly live. That’s better than the record-fantastic Verison.

Lovely Linda, that little ditty from the Cherry Album always pops into my head when of those two-- it's her song and her's alone (I adore his little giggle as it winds up). All his other love songs I can apply to my own conditions and circumstances, but not that one.

My absolute favourite Paul McCartney song is Beautiful Night which was half-written in the mid 80s, but eventually finished and recorded with Ringo in the mid 90s. There’s also Wanderlust, which is a gorgeous song.

« My Love » IS a beautiful love song, I agree. « Maybe I’m Amazed » is another one. There’s a track on the Beatles White Album called « I Will » which is also very good. It’s especially a solo song because Paul played all the instruments. A different kind of love song is the song « Here Today » that Paul wrote for John, after his death. Very poignant. Another poignant love song that John wrote for his son Sean is called « Beautiful Boy ». As a father, that one gets me every time. « Hey Jude » is also kind of a love song. « And I Love Her » ain’t bad either. 🥰

I dont know if youve been told about Paul MCcartney's more recent "My Valentine" His voice doesnt have the range that it once had, but the song is truly haunting. Just to say that I heard Paul sing this in 1973 at the Liverpool Empire his first return to the city since the Bestles It was a great show Harri and Made me a big Wings fan. Towards the end he played his naughty banned by the BBC HI Hi Hi. "Banned for being dirty but it isn't dirty." he shouted as an intro React to it and see what YOU think Harri It is a great little rocker. Drugs in it as well. You bad boy , Paul ! Just try the song 'Only One More Kiss' from the same album 'Red Rose Speedway' or 'No More Lonely Night' in the '80's. And for sure 'Dear Friend' on John Lennon is an incredible song, it's sad and both such a poem-song... Cheers man!
