My LIFE-THREATENING Pizza Addiction | Addicted to Pizza | Freaky Eaters (US) S1 E3 | Only Human

33-year-old Josh has an obsession with pizza. Pizza for breakfast, pizza for lunch, pizza for dinner, and it's taking a serious toll on his health. Josh's uncle, David, is desperate for someone to help. Can the experts help to break this dangerous addiction?
Freaky Eaters documents the intense struggles of those with a dangerous compulsion towards a particular food. With the help of two experts, the Freaky Eater confronts the painful truth behind their food obsession and fights to reclaim control of their diet and combat the destructive side effects their behaviour is having on their health. Patients include a girl who drinks more than 30 cans of cola a day, a 29-year-old mother who only eats French fries and a diabetic who has a life-threatening addiction to cheeseburger. Can they overcome their dependencies and learn how to manage their diets?

@@MrDuneedon There's plenty of other examples: Mattress filling; Gasoline; Fabric Softener, Cheese, French Fries, Hamburgers... All with no well defined, understandable reasons, except taste, like the wife in grief eating her husband's ashes or the mother in grief over the loss if her child and consuming cornstarch. My heart went out to both of these ladies.

Pizza is pretty healthy imo, cheese has protein vitamins. The dough is relatively thin, not getting to much carbs. Tomato sauce good.. veggies and meat toppings.. good.. probably only a small amount of oil is used, if it's olive that's good.. you could do fine eating pizza, of course there is a huge variety of pizzas, I imagine the ones Italy are super healthy.

I ate some pizza every day for about a year and a half. I’m diabetic, weight about 135, and work in manual labor with an active lifestyle. I would grab a slice of ny style (thin crust for people who don’t know) made with fresh ingredients every day on my way home from work. It was my pre-dinner snack. I couldn’t imagine having to exist on only pizza. I live in north east Pennsylvania and have great and diverse pizza choices but man can not live on pizza alone.

this kinda hits home too much for me i’ve struggled with eating and food since i was about 3-4 and pizza is by far my biggest comfort food and favorite thing to eat prob one of the worst things i did was work at a little caesar’s being so exposed to it made my eating even more limited than it was and this video really puts it into perspective

I got to where I had a small pizza once a week, every week, for like almost a year. I gained A LOT of weight from it. I had to tear away from it because of how much money I was spending on that and other fast foods. And it was making me very miserable. But some days, I just didn't care. I wanted that full feeling along with the pure deliciousness that is pizza. The ultimate comfort food. I haven't had any at all in almost 2 months and I feel so much better. The next time I eat it, it will be thin crust for sure. Lol just to help a little bit. That's the worst part about it, is the crust. I was definitely a fast food addict and I had to get away from it before it ruined my body even more.

@@pandashrimp9274 I hear you wanting the satation along with the deliciousness. My problem is when it's thin crust I never feel full. I'll just do a stuffed crust 2 or 3 times a year. My birthday for sure. And a salad first to jump start the fullness.

in all seriousness, i developed lactose intolerance when i turned 30 & had similar mysterious symptoms until i found out that dairy was making me very ill. i've been a non-junk-food vegan for three years, and although i miss the comfort of certain foods... it's so rad not feeling or looking like garbage anymore.

I’m lactose intolerant too but I take lactose pills often cause even though I cut out milk, I can’t resist a good ice cream or cheesecake , or cheese 🤤 but yea dairy is a surprisingly easy thing to remove from your diet without too much difficulty, there’s so many dairy alternatives out there now. There’s even a lactose free option for most dairy products now a days
