I was a mascot on the pitch for the 1995 coca cola Cup final at the old Wembley. Liverpool vs Bolton final, I was only about 10, i couldn't believe I was standing on Wembley next to Ian rush,John Barnes, Robbie Fowler, Steve Mcmanaman but Neil made it a extra special day for me as he lifted me up over his head as i walked past him. As a ten year old football lover that was a big thing for me!
One of the most humble and down to earth people you could wish to meet. Even as a united fan, its great to see him looking so well. Last time i saw him he was twice the size and looking quite down, yet still had a smile on his face and happy to take pics with fans and selfie hunters. He'd always have time for anybody and never put his troubles on others. A true gentleman. Id love to see him get a regular gig on soccer Saturday or talksport or something big. Hes entertaining, has stories we havent heard before, and with all the money in football these days, itd be nice to see players like him see a bit of that cash coming their way and build their lives back up. Good luck razor! Keep up the hard work and be lucky!

I'm celtic but watched Liverpool in the era when Neil was playing Great bloke and so glad your health is getting better not just for him but his family Respect bigman loved the chat and get on golf course more instead of pub
Neil rudduck what a guy, so happy he's turned his life around 👍
Razor loved hearing u today and loved watching u play. I was best player at school, primary was in school team at 7. Best player in comp school but followed my older bro everywhere and pool n football was pub pub pub. Was almost alcoholic at 16 when in the army and played for them. Left army and played pool n footy for teams bro played for and was picked up drunk off friends floor's by brother match day mornings. Dario O'Grady asked me come for trials and guess what. My bro was over the moon but i went on a bender and forgot to turn up. Glad to say after drink ruined life, marriage and many more things I'm now 14yrs sober and my 2 daughter's have just made me a Grandad to a boy and a girl. I always think what could have been then think grandkids and remember my miserable run life has now blessed me and i don't look back anymore just forward. Razor you're a top bloke. Thanks for the memories watching u at Liverpool
what a great interview and well done to both of them letting Razor talk. Great to see Razor looking so much healthier as well.

@@tonysmith4410you're full of waffle pal, Ruddock looks healthy and happy, unlike you.
Remember him arriving from Millwall during Terry Venables era and became the best Defender in Premiership. Venables promised him in those days £7000 per week but Alan Sugar had no choice but sacking Venables because of Financial Irregularities Case against Spurs, he found £7000 a week Extortionate amount for a guy kicking a ball for 90 minutes (just like calling Zola, Carlos kickaball) And Sold him to Liverpool for £2.9 million. He went from stregth to strength forming a great partnership with Mark Wright playing for England. His Gaol against Man Utd when he didnt even know he scored after receiving a knock on his head was actually brave as well as hilarious..This guy was tough he would stick his head to any boot coming towards him. Thats how players used to be, never pampered, not cocky, just good honest genuine people..Nice to see Ruddock in an interview.
So pleased to see Neil looking healthier and by all accounts enjoying life once more. I honestly didn't think he would be with us much longer after watching him play for Harry's Heroes. Good for him in being able to turn his life around.
Absolute legend totally honest Neil should be on talksport more
Probably the most honest and insightful discussion I've listened to this week
The man's a legend and I missed a night out clubbing in London with him, John Barnes, Robbie Fowler and a few of the Liverpool players after a match at Selhurst Park in the 90's, because I did not have enough money on me. My colleagues went and the footballers paid for the lot, even cabs home! 🙄😢
Great interview with Razor. Legend. Your bitterness is shining through again, Rory. Werner was 'good enough' for Chelsea, he won you a Champions League. He isn't a patch regarding ability compared to Shevchenko, Torres, Eto, Salah and the rest but his Chelsea numbers are better. Chelsea is just a graveyard for the vast majority of strikers. They probability would've ruined Shearer in his pomp too. Apart from Drogba, it's hard to find great strikers that played at the club since Zola and Vialli.
Loved Razor as a kid, remember paying £12 and £14 to get on the Kop, but that was 1995/96 Ruddock & Wright quality centre backs.

Yeah and razor spent 50 quid on beer and kebabs. Mark wright was a different class as he could actually play football. Razor a dinosaur
Omg I love Razor, he should go into movies and acting - would be hilarious another Ray Winston - amazing guy
A really great interview from a real football legend!! A real eye-opener into the pressures of being a footballer!!
The laughter at the end..Pure joy!...Razor and Neil...Both Great guys...Well done Rory n Ade for a touching convo. We need to hear more from Mr Ruddock!
Great to see Raymond look so well. From the irish liverpool supporters.
Newcastle fan here & when I was a kid I'd go to Newcastle & Sunderland home games never missed a game. It was just for the love of the game ❤
At last Neil is better. You can tell, not by the weight he has lost, but by the way he is speaking and his attitude. Long may it continue. COYI
Never a dull moment with Mr Ruddock,a great interview, good to see him so well😅
Thanks Razor, helped more than you know ❤

Love Razor. Used to enjoy chatting with him at Walthanstow dogs. Such a genuine down to earth man. No airs or graces. Always had time for people. Top man Razor.
Fair play to you Razor. I saw that chat session you had with Paul Merson when you looked awful and it ended in tears. You've turned it around 👍👍

Neil (Razor) my God man your looking so well! Life long Red & so glad to see you back to your glowing self. Legend on the pitch & Comedy Legend off it! Cheers bud.
Razor Ruddock was always a treasure. Loved it when he turned the collar of Cantina, brilliant. He was so funny on an episode of They think it's all over, but to see the size of him, was so sad.
Thank you Neil, excellent podcast and well done for finding health again. MUFC

Rifles in Enfield - used to be the in place back then. Nice to get a reminder of the place
Gets the big tackler shout but he had a great left foot also
Met him when he was at Swindon great lad 👍
What a great interview. Loved him at whufc
I remember watching Ruddock at the Dell for Southampton in 1990 for £2 on the Milton Terrace.
God bless you Neil! Continue with your recovery.
Great podcast!!
I don't know him but this interview really got a lot off his chest. I suggest all old players must be interviewed to tell their peace.
Good honest interview, good to see he has changed his ways, did he give any thanks to Paul merson,I don't know I didn't watch it all,Paul merson showed himself to be a proper friend telling him how it was and that he had to change his ways
That "ruddock 5" bit is great 😂
This was brilliant
I love him. A legend for me as a kid at Liverpool ❤
I grew up watching Razor play for Southampton. A privilege. It's been horrible to see how his personal demons have taken away so much from him. I'm glad he's back on the right path for his fantastic family. Great interview btw boys.
Could listen to Razor all day😊
Well done!
He’s a top bloke Razor. 😮We played at Picton Road in Wavertree then went for a few drinks after and we met bumped into Razor out. We had a great chat and he bought us all drinks, a really nice guy. Must have been towards the end of his Liverpool career. Thanks Razor.
United fan here but gotta say great interview!!
More of this this was great abit like James allcott process podcast live these open conversations with legends of the game 👍
Hell of an interview. Hell of a guy.

What a character very funny guy, honest is great to hear all the life experiences 👏👏👏
Razor was a real underrated defender
Razor looking good great to see
I used to go to a pub in Enfield in north London and during the afternoon 6 spurs players would be sat around drinking and no one bothered them
Legend Razor..Never forget his header against Man U in the famous 3-3
rory jennings talking like he knows the hell he is talking about
lol as a QPR fan I can relate , as for Harlington yep I used to live near there and even still in the 90a I could drive into the training ground and watch Chelsea train at lunchtime whilst sitting in my car , then one day the man in the gate said you have to have a booking to watch , never went back . footballers have become aloof .
Looking well Razor mate good to see you looking a lot healthier and happier in yourself bro top fella razor funny down to earth bloke
Just watching this. It just followed on from another vid & I was going to turn it off, but Ruddock is brilliant. So candid. Excellent x

I've been sitting here for the last 10 minutes thinking what's that horrible squeaking noise? Then I realized this video had been playing on my TV in the background.....Rory Jennings!
Great stuff from Razor. Honesty. Good luck mate. From a Chelsea fan.
Lovely geezer old Razor ❤
Neill U couldn't have played vs Ronaldinho he signed for PSG in 2001

35:25 Never knew that!
Infectious personality so interesting to listen too lovely bloke.😊
Thank you so much for this…Ruddock’s honesty has helped me. Also, thank you hosts for asking questions lean towards social welfare. Powerful 💪🏿
Razor Ruddock.... Proper LEGEND. Big❤ from S Wales
Razor speaks sense on the Kane topic on multiple points. If he moves his family now, he has to think about a longer term move than if he and his family were younger or he risks disrupting his kids' schooling. Then, on the topic of winning things. When the media compare his career to others after he retires, if he doesn't win team honors, they'll point it out. The fans, however, will remember him breaking the England record, breaking the Spurs record and if he stays in England, breaking the Premier League record. For them, it won't come with a caveat of whether he won the league or not. In fact - if he can break all those records without winning anything - that will elevate him to a god-like status after he retires with the fans. They'll speak about how a guy who played the majority of his career in a team who didn't compete for any major honors still managed to break all the records - and the discussion would be about how good he would have made this team or that team. They'll never forget the guy. If he moves to Germany, even if he comes back and wins something, there will be a little gloss taken off that legend/god-like status he'd get by staying.
Glad he sorted the weight out. Top man!
Neil’s a good lad let’s hope he’s with us for a long time yet 👌
Great man.
Great player and very underrated at the time. Good to see him looking healthy
