Exactly he's a professional. Then you have the likes of Oprah literally shouting over people ...and she's worshipped. I don't get it.
I just paused the video and reflected on my short time, my "snapshot" in an American jail & then acknowledged he did 8 years in the various circles of hell & you can tell from how clear and concise and genuine he is that the British tried they're hardest to break this lad and he remains intact, my dad was a staunch republican, born in Ireland but spent his adult life in the USA and he would tell me about people like Bobby Sands and watching this man's recollection of events it honestly gave me chills, if you can't respect this man's strength, determination and courage (even if you firmly disagree with his stance) then there is something missing in your human foundation and you should do some soul searching, this man is the personification of human determination and the will to go on, I hope I can have 1/1000th his strength and fortitude in my life and the struggles and trials and tribulations that I will inevitably face

So here’s a thing, having just returned from my first tour of Belfast and all the tourist spots of the political divide ( on both sides ) and without disclosing my back ground or beliefs as it would offer no purpose to my comment…..I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, this interview and testimony by Sam Millar is the single most informative and in my opinion, honest, piece I have ever heard concerning the troubles by someone involved. It’s fearless, brave, heartbreaking and mind blowing all rolled into one. Quite stunning. Sam, I fully tip my hat to you for your bravery and courage in the face of such dire consequences and I salute you as an inspiration.Your honesty has removed many of the so called truths I have carried on this subject which have been constantly peddled by media and other outlets that have been pushed over the years. This is been absolutely fascinating and the best thing I've seen and heard in 2022. as a kid growing up in the 70 and 80s make you realise how grim that era was compared to the 90s and later. No one of my generation will have forgotten Bobby Sands.
I’m English /British, I’ve great grandparents from Ireland all catholic, yet my family are not religious. I grew up in the 70s 80s, hating the IRA, but over the years I’ve realised that if I was Irish catholic I would’ve chose the same path as Sam millar. The oppressed have a much better cause to fight for the rights of equality. Respect to any person and people fighting for change against the system, I see things so different now, and during this plandemic I realise I/we/ all of us together cannot trust the government, the BBC,the media suppression, podcasts like this give a real uncensored view of all things that the average person is oblivious too. Good luck Sam and best wishes.

I don't use the word legend lightly but my good lord what a story and what a legend he is, one of the best podcasts I've ever listened to, you really let him tell his story and didn't unnecessarily interject.

Good to hear.from me as an irish republican all my life,i never had any ill will towards the english public or joe soap.it was always the government that was hated.i have to be honest what always amazed me was hearing working class people in england singing god save the queen with pride, her family are not even british and have butchered and murdered all across the globe.the day the english people get rid of the royal family i will celebrate with them.they dont care about the people.drop them

Wow!...going to be hard to top that one James!!!... Great job as usual 👌
Very powerful and honest memoirs. Had me in tears in parts and hysterics in others. As half English half Irish I was never truly educated to what the troubles were about and this has got me intrigued to look into the history of both sides (soldiers not politicians). Great interview James
Thank you for sharing your story.... You deserve a Medal! Much respect to you 👊
When I was in Iran, I visited Tehran and they have a street called 'Bobby Sands St.'
Straight off the bat - amazing. What a great interview and insight into the troubles. God bless ALL who lost their lives in that war.
One of if not thee best interview iv even seen. What a life store and a fantastic interview. I was born and raised in Northern Ireland in the 60’s 70’s and 80’s and lived through the troubles. My mother was able to get us out of the country and to America in 1985 but iv seen and know all about everything he’s talked about. Being brought up catholic we use to pray for Bobby Sands in our morning assembly through the whole hunger strike. I have also lost close friends to the troubles it was a really hard time over there for Catholic’s and this brings back a lot of memories good and bad. I can’t wait to see the movie about Sam’s life. What a hard life he’s had I’m glad he has come full circle and is enjoying his life now. He deserves it. God bless you Sam.
hi James, thank you for this interview with Sam, i am a loyalist and i enjoyed listening to his story. very honest interview which i was very surprised at, and james you were very good with your questions and how you allowed Sam to answer ... well done to everyone

I’ll be honest James. I don’t usually listen all the way through I’ve got a short attention span. Can’t keep my concentration. But this one with Sam was something else. A very articulate man and honest man who’s story is both fascinating and frightening at the same time. I liked your style of not saying too much. You let Sam tell his story.
