My Indian Scout Bobber is Now Complete - Maybe?

Holy modifications batman! I have modified my Indian Scout Bobber and upgraded numerous things on this bike that I do think that my Indian Scout Bobber is Now Complete - maybe? - HAH! So let's walk through ALL the changes I've made, my thoughts on each of them, and a little bit about why I did it. Comment and let me know what you think!

    Ive been following you since I bought my Scout 60 bobber a year ago. I just watched this compilation of all your upgrades. I was happy to see you have the same seat on yours, the Jarod Mees. I love mine. I did a little more for the installation, I bought a seat mount for the back part of the seat, so it slides into the back mount (like on the scout) and then you fasten the front. It did require some careful measuring, drilling a hole in the rear fender and using a nut-sert, but I figured that part is always going to be covered even if I take the seat off in the future. Keep up the work, I love following your posts and upgrades.

    Awesome, thanks! Yeah the Jared Mees seat is nice. Sadly, mine was vandalized and I had to get a new seat and ended up with the Syndicate from Indian. It's pretty dang nice ... but I loved the look of my Jared Mees.

    I get a lot of buffeting with the road warrior 13' vented windshield at 5'10". But I do love the fairing. looks great.

    Hrm, I ride with the 11 vented and the 15 for long trips. I only get slight buffeting on the 11 but nothing on the 15.

    My daughter is okay on it for about 30 minutes, after that she doesn't like it. If you are going to do passenger a lot I would look at a corbin with a corbin pilion seat.

    Thank you for running through everything! I've actually used your videos in the past to gauge the improvements I am performing for my Scout Bobber 20. The 2-Into-1 Exhaust + High Flow Air Filter are amazing for performance increase. Mine makes 90 HP and 67 ft•lbs of torque without the PV3 but soon as you said you make 100+ HP and about 90 ft•lbs of torque I hopped on revzilla and ordered me one! Haha Anyway keep on living life man and enjoy your awesome Bobber! 👍

    Beautiful bike! The twisted chopper vaulted handlebars look sick! Do they have more sweepback than the stock drag bars? And did you need to replace the stock clutch and break cables and wiring to fit them?

    Happy holidays. I just installed the same fairing on my 21 bobber and I noticed that your head light protrude out a little. My head light is recessed about 1in. I am 100% sure that I order the correct headlight extension.? Did you do anything different to get it to sit out the way you have it. I like that look better.

    I'm sure you ordered the correct stuff. The grommets are adjustable where the fairing sits on the clamp grommets. Those can be pushed out or in about an inch or so. That's all I do.

    They are a little more streamlined but not much. The optical illusion is because of the LED ring.

    I think your Bobber has a 41 mm fork. Does the quick release on the fairing have enough space to fit on a 43 mm fork?

    So I "think" it would fit. The quick release for me is set to the closest setting and you have 5 more notches in the fork mount to grow on the fairing.

    I use a handlebar bag to sit on top. Specifically I use the Burly Brand bag and it just sits over top to hide / and protect them a bit. The headlight wiring harnesses are all water proof so as long as they aren't in direct striking water the'll stay good, clean and well connected.

    I cant decide on this scout bobber or stepping up to the Harley street Bob. I LOVE the looks of the scout but wondering if Id wish I got the street bob for any reason. Most my riding will be in town with an occasional ride from Phoenix to Sedona which is only about 100 miles. Thats probably the longest trip it would go on

    The 11.5 raises the rear end some. I wanted that because I load it often when I travel. 11 is standard size.

    Oh I still have them and use them when I'm on longer rides. These pegs are the Arlen Ness Knurled.

    @@fishballx8 No, they are a direct swap. Mine did not come with pins so make sure to use your stock ones. It's also a good time to replace the pig tail pin with a pinch pin on the retaining bolts

    You still rocking those twisted chopper bars? I have been researching and those seem to be a great compromise of performance, comfort and ease of install. We’re they pretty easy to install with standard cables? Any regrets? I’m 5-10. Thanks in advance

    I actually just moved to 8" Titus bars from Dean Speed. Sadly, my vaulted started to have a weld fail. I still went for 8" but I think I like these Dean Speed more. Stock cables work just fine, but I upgraded my clutch cable to a Barnet cable

    @@dadwithabike whoa. Weld fail on handlebars is NOT GOOD. dean speed website is saying like 8 week lead time did you experience that? That’s the primary reason I am looking at others.

    @@briandrake496 Yeah, it was exactly 8 weeks. I "kinda" saw the failure coming and got ahead of it so I got them in time to not miss any riding. Sadly, most custom places are about that long. You may get better response from FMB Chopper Parts but they just didn't have the bars I wanted.

    I've tried both with and without. I don't need one now .... especially since I'm getting gas every 100 miles anyway

    @@dadwithabike you mentioned in a previous video that your daughter wanted to start riding, and that you were going to start riding with her on the back. Does she have any complaints about the Mustang seat? If that’s asking too personal a question I understand. In either case I think it’s fantastic she wants to ride and good luck to her.

    @@MrJoeylap as long as we keep it under 30 minutes she's fine. Much longer and she hated it. If I were doing true, long 2up riding I'd need a different bike.

    Only because I've had coolant leaks on bikes before and hose covers hid it ... so paranoid maybe :)

    @@dadwithabike Understandable! I don't think you'd have that issue with what they have. If I'm honest, I'm not the biggest fan of Kuryakyn in general, but that cover is a slick little piece. Zero regrets on mine 🍻🤙

    I love my bobber but I don’t know I’m on the fence between getting another bike more than likely a sports bike I love cruiser feel but I hate the comfort and I know if I get a sports bike I won’t get any more comfort but I’ll get added fun in my opinion I just throwing my ideas out there to get some suggestions back I’ve also thought about getting a Springfield dark horse, I just don’t really know how I want to set up my bike I like aggressive but what comfort and normally they don’t come together

    Sounds like a sport touring bike is what you are looking for. The Yamaha Tracer GT or the new Suzuki GSXF 1000 or something similar.

    @@optimisticdream1907 try tuning the suspension first and if that doesn't help you'll need to look at better rear shocks

    I have ridden the scout and it's more comfortable out of the gate than the bobber. In hindsight I probably would have been better suited for the scout based on the changed I've made

    Sometimes the baffle is in, sometimes it isn't. If I'm going on a ride with my club I'll throw the baffle in .... no one wants to ride next to me when it's not baffled - lol
