Indian Scout Bobber Review | 2 Years and 25K Miles

In this video, I do an Indian Scout Bobber Review in the same light that I did two years ago when I bought the bike. What do I think about this motorcycle regarding power & performance, handling, comfort, and aesthetics now that I have owned it for 2 years and 25K miles?

    Amazing review my man! Having all these insights from someone who Really RIDE that thing is always helpful. Appreciate the time and effort you put in all your videos! I also have a Cafe fairing and thinking about switching to the Road Warrior.. right now all the air hits me right on the shoulder/neck and when I ride for more then a certain amount of time at any speed higher then 65 I find myself "attached/grabbing quite hard" on the handlebar. Do you think the fairing could help? Or maybe is more a riding position thing?

  • @dadwithabike

    The fairing will help quite a bit but it will move the air up. Some have said it caused them some buffeting but it doesn't me.

    Great review man! Very thorough…also coming from sport bike/dirt bike background, Ive been looking at this one, speed twin and street bob 114. Still up in the air, but I like what you’ve done with your bike. And I like the style of that one a lot as well. Going to be a tough decision…

    Great video! I have a '21 Scout Sixty and absolutely love it as well but the wife might take it over next season as she gets more comfortable riding. That'll open the door for me to "upgrade" to the Bobber next summer. Your honest review really helps with that decision.

    I'm 6'1", with long legs and I added the extended reach foot pegs and extended reach seat to the Sixty. It fits me perfectly and the extended reach seat is like a comfort seat with the added padding to raise you up a bit. I also just added the Bassani slip one and it's making it hard to want to give this bike up for the wife, lol. The one thing I noticed you didn't mention that other reviewers have, is the feeling that you are sliding off the back of the seat under acceleration. Unless maybe I just missed it.

    You’re right on the money...I test rode the Bobber at Daytona last year and instantly felt in love with the bike. The way it rides is like no other bike, felt like I was gliding over the pavement faster than in actuality but planted and low to the ground. I rode it twice at bike week and couldn’t get enough of it with one caveat, the stock seat has to go. For someone with limited experience riding, this might be a deal breaker because the stock seat is hard and your rear will slide backwards. However, for someone with more experience riding different style bikes, it’s a no brainer. You immediately realize that an aftermarket comfy seat makes this bike an absolute dream to ride endlessly. I have a Saddlemen seat on my Vulcan Custom 900 with the gel insert and it is awesome!!!

    Got my Bobber not long ago, hit my 1st maintenance schedule in 4 days, just hit 3000 today, only have stage 1 intake and Vance and Hines slash cut for power, but I'm almost due for a rear tire already. Took me a couple weeks to realize how much I was burning rubber on take off. It stays so stable beneath you. First and only street bike but I definitely have to throw my vote towards last bike I'll ever own, short of getting a brand new version of the exact same bike!

    I have owned my scout bobber for the same time as you and have same miles as well. I love every minute of it haha. No fairings or wind screens, stock tracker bars still, they look great. The only mods I have done are fox rear suspension and progressive front springs which as helped stiffen it up for bumps. Performance wise, trask intake and V & H slip ons. Would love to have a 2 into 1 one day but so far the after market, in my opinion, has yet to make a good looking 2 into 1 exhaust for Indian scouts. Other than that, just a dean speed sissy bar and a couple end cuoio bags for when I go on longer trips. Oh as for tires, commander 2s have been amazing.

    10k miles on mine in a year and a half, but I have a couple of other bikes to share my time around with. Really loving it as a non cruiser guy before this. Lots of similar mods. I have the Rinehart slipons which sound really good, but are way too loud. Any recommendations on a less obnoxious pipe that still makes power?

  • @dadwithabike

    @dadwithabike

    2 жыл бұрын

    Slip-ons for the scouts only add a little bit more power, not substantial so for that you'd have to go 2-1. I do find the Vance and Hines to be nice but sadly ANY exhaust on the bobber is loud as hell. You could find if there are baffles for the Rinehart and go that route .... but a modified exhaust on the scout - even slip-on - is loud :-)

    The Scout Rogue ... is basically a bobber with mods. No changes to power plant, no tech upgrades ... just a fairing in the end. Personally, I'm not a fan of the Sportster S so I'd still go with the Scout platform - but that is just my opinion.

    I’m debating on a scout bobber or rebel 1100. The rebel is best bang for buck and seems more comfortable. The Bobber is the one I’m leaning towards although it seems like I’d be uncomfortable being 5’7. Haven’t found a video comparing these 2 bikes yet.

  • @dadwithabike

    @dadwithabike

    2 жыл бұрын

    Really depends on what you want. Both bikes will fit you just fine, low seat height and the forward controls won't be bad for you on the bobber but for comfort you'll need a taller handlebar. The Rebel is a better value if you are looking for features (cruise, etc). The bobber is faster and more performance oriented. Both are outstanding bikes.

    Ever compare it to a Softail Slim (M8 107)? Cuz I'm torn between a Scout Bobber ABS, a Chief Bobber ABS, or an HD Softail Slim. I'm coming off a 2015 Scout.

  • @dadwithabike

    @dadwithabike

    2 жыл бұрын

    So if you are coming off a 2015 Scout you will be disappointed with the M8 107 engine. I found that engine to be horrible and it just felt like it had very little power. I did test ride a Harley Sport Glide because I like the way they look - but after riding it with that 107 I said...no way. Sadly, the Indian 111 feels sluggish to me as well - so I'm guessing it is the Scout engine that makes the 107 and the 111 feel underpowered. I have ridden an upgraded softail with a 114 and those things are torque monsters. If I was going to go the HD route it would be on a softail with a 114.
