Karla - "Are you happy you've torn our family apart?" OP - "You mean like how you tore MY family apart?" Someone with that mindset doesn't deserve to be a mother. If they did somehow manage to get custody, I don't doubt Karla would have eventually grown resentful towards the baby that she wasn't actually hers. Both are delusional to believe OP would just give up her daughter like that.

Story 1. The only reason Karla stole your husband is cause she wanted your baby. I'm wondering if ex's self harm came from the 2 of them fighting over Karla failing to steal your baby. "If you don't get that baby for me there's no reason to stay with you." You need cameras, ring doorbell, & a couple of tracking devices in your baby's car seat & in a toy that's safe for babies & make sure the toy is always with baby & in pictures so anyone who looks at them will think it's baby's favorite so it won't be thrown away. Not accusing them of anything, but people get crazy over not being able to have babies. There's a movie about something like this called the "hand that rocks the cradle." Good luck

Story 1: Cheaters/toxic people are such an interesting breed. Their mindsets are so backwards and twisted. Like they can do everything they can to hurt others, especially their partners, and get butthurt when there’s real consequences to their actions and no one is on their side. Also it looks like OP wasn’t the danger to their daughter but the husband was considering the bad manic episode Story 2: Good thing Jessie showed his true colors before OP and him said “I do.” Glad OP didn’t take him back

Story 1 - I heard this story. It ended on a cliffhanger though. I still can't get over that James and Karla thought they were being subtle. Idiots. Karla might have a mandatory psyche evaluation in her future. I still don't understand why James of all people. Did she just assume because he was married James was good husband material? Look at how he threw away the woman he's been with since he was 15. Karla is delulu to really think James has any sense of loyalty or commitment. He doesn't care about anyone but himself. He will abandon Karla once he realizes he's tied himself to a dead end. Karla can't give him more children. Story 2 - automatically NTA. All that talk about adopting op's daughter was a fat lie to get into op's pants. Jesse knew what he signed up for when he agreed to date a woman with a child and wore a mask to hide how he really felt. That's such a scummy move do that but expect the single parents to ignore their children or completely neglect them all together. Sadly, many parents do neglect their children to please the new s/o but I'm happy op wasn't one of those selfish parents. I'm glad Jesse is such a big mouth idiot to rat himself out on his infidelity.

The husband is bipolar and that illness is way more well known than BPD and is more stigmatized because it is more well known. And a judge would totally not trust a woman who pretended to be someone's best friend then seduced her husband. I feel bad for the kid overall being stuck around any of these people.

Because some people work so hard to manage them and know how to actually handle themselves. Whether they were born with them or gained them through trauma is not a choice and they deserve to be loved as well. Those disorders will NEVER be a valid excuse for shitty behavior, at that point I'd argue it's just the person. BECAUSE, what gets me the most is this whole ass 180° the guy did and treated his wife as if he never even liked her! And they were together since they were 15. I'm sorry. The fuck??

I have two ideas as to why OP’s ex attempted to take his own life Option A: He found out that Karla was infertile around the same time as Op. The entire reason why he cheated on Op was because she wouldn’t be able to give him the two other children he wished for so it wouldn’t exact make the most sense for him to leave Op for someone who can’t have children. He also most likely terminated his parental rights to his and OP’s daughter thinking that he’ll be able to start over and have three new kids with Karla. However, the realization that he irreparably damaged the relationship between his parents and lost the chance to be in the life of the one child he did have for the sake of a woman who couldn’t even give him the one thing he did want drove him to try and take his life Option B: OP’s ex was aware of Karla’s infertility but chose to stay with her because he fell in love with her. Karla, regardless of the ex’s reasons for trying to take his own life, absolutely was only using OP’s ex in order to take OP’s child since she wouldn’t be able to have a child naturally. However, when the plan to manipulate op into giving up her child failed in addition to OP’s ex giving up his parental rights, Karla lost any and all access to that baby. This also meant that Karla no longer had any use for OP’s ex and most likely attempted to end things with him since he failed to give her the one thing *she wanted.* The stress of losing the woman he had ruined his whole life for got the best of OP’s ex and then he tried to take his own life. I feel like of the two options, Option A makes the most sense since as I’ve said before, Op mentions that the reason why her ex cheated on her in the first place was because her ex wanted two more children and Op wasn’t able to have anymore children

  • @TheLastHylianTitan

It’s not that simple. Children form attachments to their parental figures, regardless of how fit they are, and to have someone so close to you suddenly disappear from your life when you’re at too young an age to fully comprehend or process it can have lasting trauma and cause attachment issues. Supervised visits would have allowed OP’s kid to slowly adjust to the sudden change in her life at a pace that was healthy for her. But dad would rather leave permanent damage on his former daughter than even make an effort to care for her mental health. I don’t condone anything that fuck did and I don’t particularly like the whole “keep shitty parents in a kid’s life” route, but I know that during bullshit like this, kids suffer the most and thought and care has to be put into helping them adapt and adjust to their new lifestyle. But speaking as someone who did social work for a year, some people just shouldn’t be allowed to have, speak to or be near their kids.
