Your review is better and more to the point than 90% of the others ive seen, most of the street/sport bike riders think the power is insane since they don't ride torquey low end power bikes with a lot of throttle response and engine braking, like dirtbikes and big singles. Ive got a DRZ440 just now (offroad and SM setup i swap it around often), was deciding between exchange that for an EXC500 and convert to supermoto (again both for off and on road with both rim sets), or a KTM690SMCR (new or old one) and now think ive decided on keeping the DRZ for supermoto on road and kart track + offroad for winter, and getting an MT-09SP for the majority of my road riding and some trackdays... dirt bikes are great but you cant put long miles or do much highway on them. plus would be nice to have something low maintenance. I Think that's my plan for next year anyway, looks like a fun bike if your use to off-road style bikes. 4cyl bikes just don't have the low down torque for me and they feel too large and awkward. + im use to having a lot of engine braking. id recommend the SC project CRT pipe, ill be getting that for sure sounds insane!

I went from 50 cc scoter to riding this. I've done 13000 km in 3 months and I'm loving it. It's not perfect but it has character which grows on you

@@rabbychan At the time, throttle was a bit snappy mid corner, but after a full akrapovic and full dyno ecu flash, it is much, much better. I still own it, 67k Km on the odometer. It might be perfect afterall 😊.

I got one same mods except K n air filter + dyno jet flash , was the most cost effective way of adding 7hp short of a new exhaust, bought new so will pipe it when it needs it.mine is also in us raven in Aus murder black or stealth black. Reminds me a lot of a TT 600 I had back in the day with rider position and agility on the road. I love mine as well retire in a few years this mto9 will go in the man cave and I will replace it with a cruiser bike.The mt09 might be a budget naked but for your money unbeatable value. These bikes will become sort after classics just for the engine alone.

I have the same experience with that fuel gauge on my mt09sp... its fkn annoying. Still love this bike, have the akra carbon with db killer and the sound is amazing, even better than without the db killer imo. I love riding this bike even more than my previous 2017 s1000rr.

I have to say, Your black MT is one good looking ride.

Hey man, nice video. I have a 2020 MT-09 too, absolutely love it. The difference that I have found between the 2019 and 2020, my 2020 model has clear plastic on the indicators/turn signals, whereas the 2019 had those ugly orange colour. I'm from South Africa, so not too sure if u guys have the same difference in the US. Hope u continue enjoying ur bike, I know I am.

@@brucyburutsa241 Ey my SA brother. Can't say I've ridden the ktm or the street triple, but from what I understand, the street triple is more refined, probably do better on the track. I'm not a huge fan of ktm, but I believe the 890 is a beast of a machine. I love my mt-09 because of how raw it feels, it's just crazy torque all the time, 2000 rpm or 9000rpm, there is always power. But ye man, I would encourage u to go test ride all of them. I'm a Yamaha fan always have been, so the MT-09 was my choice. Just wish we got the MT-10 in south africa cos I would probably get that. But the triple in the MT-09 is such a good engine man

how are those tires holding up? Michelin Road 5?

Good good review and info..I was thinking on getting the new 21 sp but I think I’ll get this 20 black one you got instead..first naked and I just can’t buy into the new headlight assembly..that quick shifter is from Yamaha and does it go both up and down?

I’m with you on the head light. Just bought a 20 over a 21 because of the look. I know the new one handles better and has a bit more torque, but I don’t want to feel slightly disgusted every time I walk towards my new bike lol

I can’t stand the new throttle by chip. Sensors regulating my throttle is not cool

Traction Control 2, Ride Mode B for 95% of people. Any other setting and you're asking for it and you better have the experience to get yourself out of trouble. Everyone complains about the poor suspension on these bikes but nobody ever takes the time to set it up properly. I would get that dialed in before going full MotoGP

What’s your slip on exhaust?

I have the 2020 and just put a full Arrow exhaust with a flash by Vcyclenut. It's been raining here so I haven't been able to road test it, but it sounds really sweet. The bike is an exceptional bargain for the price. I highly recommend it.

+1 for vcyclenut. Flashed my ecu on ‘20 mt09 with full akra exhaust and his air box mod. Good stuff. 5 gear redline is 145 mph if you want to know.

I’m in love, this is exactly what I’m looking for. Can you list what upgrades you’ve added like which seat, turn signals etc. Does it come with the slipper clutch? Thanks man

Deam ;( 8 or 9 grand? I wish that that's the cost here in Costa Rica, here they are 16 grand for a brand new one, and for a 2019 used 9 grand

Tame compared to a 500cc 2 stroke Dirt bike, I own an MT09 it's a great bike but not an animal, a Ducati panigale with electronics turned off is an animal.

You don't even own a Grom .

No such thing as a bad review for an MT-09. And don't worry that everything you wear is black. During the day, that makes you high contrast, and during the night, it doesn't matter how reflective you are - the lights on the bike alone make it all a moot point. Having to wear bright clothing to be seen is a pure myth that everyone thinks they have to say. It's pure bullshit. HIGH CONTRAST is what gets quickly and easily noticed. On a bright day, black will be seen WAY before some bright yellow or orange outfit that camouflages into the desert. And at night, none of that matters because of the lights on the frickin' bike. The ONLY thing that bright colors are good for is finding the body in the bushes after an accident. Flourescent clothing is a myth we all tell ourselves and ignore anyway. Someone needed to say it. You're welcome.
