My 'Go-To' Tackle | Tungsten Tubing | Mike Holly

Спорт

Many anglers associate Tungsten Tubing to be an alternative to other leaders that may be subject to a ban on some venues. Not for Mike Holly! For Mike, it is his first choice and something he has used everywhere he has fished. The photo album speaks for the rest!

Big fan of tubing as well. And this ESP tungsten has been great!

Tubing used correctly and lead clip set up correctly and you will have no issues either semi running or bolt style

Ive been using lead core for years but switched to this having to fish closer to buoys on the lake, i was really surprised how it blends in with the lake bead, be nice if they did a lighter gravel colour

I have used ESP from the start and the tungsten tubing has evolved from the rather stiff grey stuff into a brilliant product that I use pretty much for all my carping. How come you no longer make a thinner 1.25mm version?

Love the stuff but I do get a build up of white stuff on the tubing once dried? Anyone else had the same thing?

Never had that mate, always been as good as new, straight out the rod sleeve. 👍

It may of been something in the water I can only think of, that aside it is by far the best tungsten tubing on the market 👌

Mike do you fish the lead clip fixed with a pin or running. Or like one shake and it becomes running. Been a nightmare finding leadclips that are the right size for just enough of a fit on swivel to hold but then become running for me

Korda lead clips pal and push the swivel in to the clip .and only push the tail rubber on lightly so u drop the lead on the take 👍

I’ve been fishing mine bolt and run style for years but recently seen people deeming this as unsafe, do you tend to agree? I’m using just enough tubing so about 9 inches and it seems perfectly safe to me, especially as not fishing around snags or weed

A RUNNING lead clip set up with TUBING is particularly dangerous. The tubing with it's low diameter can easily get clogged up and will prevent the mainline from running through the tubing. The lead will become fixed on the mainline therefore impossible for the carp to get rid of the lead.

Videos need to educate the viewer on this. It's never mentioned how dangerous this set up can be.

Nobody uses running lead clips really, and Mike doesn’t on this.

With the lead set right on the clip even with it running the lead will eject and I never had issues of tubing sticking on line but I only use a piece just longer than my hook lengths

No offence Mike but listening to you and reading these comments I'm thinking 🤔 WHAT. I live and fish in the Cotswolds, and with our crayfish problem anything tungsten is chewed and chopped. You seriously telling me you've not had it chopped from top to bottom? I'll put some on then send you a picture of it after spending some time in the lake. Never heard of a crayfish back in the 70's

I don’t fish lakes with crayfish in them mate. I don’t mention anything about crayfish proof in the video David 👍 we all know crayfish will mangle tubing etc. I’ve just not fished in or around them on the waters I fish. If I did I wouldn’t use anything tungsten related.

If crayfish are an issue, no choice but to change it up to lead core or a lead free version.

The tubing can’t slide off the line in the event of a crack off, if a fish picks up the rig it’ll have to tow the tubing around with it! Never put putty above tubing.

  • @BaitworksTV

My putty slides off with less resistance than it would take to slide the tube off mate 👍 nothing is fixed, apart from the clip onto the swivel which is key to losing the lead if needed.
