Ben, its gonna cost you, but you will have to drain that lake before removing anything, but once the lake is drained you need to take advantage of the situation and clean EVERYTHING out, sort out the banks properly, and start from scratch. It's a mission i know, but once its done properly you'll never have to worry about it again. Just get it done. You got this!

Hi Ben, another tree guy here. You could hire a remote control machine that's 2 tonnes and has a low impact footprint. They come with 3 ton winches on, be cheaper and less intrusive then a Valtra and large chipper. To be honest those trees are so dead you could just wade through the silt once it's drained and use a chainsaw, pretty cheap and easy.

One thing to think about with dragging them out (which ain't easy) tree roots extend down and out about twice the height of the tree. This could possibly cause great damage to the lake bed causing it to leak, you know all about this 😀

For the trees to grow to any size the water must have been lower for some considerable time before it rose to it's present level. Do you know what has caused the change in level? If any groundwork was done to create the lake in the first place, I would have thought that the trees would have been removed beforehand. You need to be sure that the reverse doesn't happen and cause the level to drop.

Not surprised that most people going to fish everywhere else in Europe😅. UK lakes are mostly like a bowl - flat on the bottom (no snags or so) and small. I don't see the problem with the lake at the moment. You have everything. The only problem that this lake have is no trees on the edge. I can't imagine at 30 degrees with no natural shadow... and yes, you can put a bivvy, but its not the same without trees. I want who asking the snags to be removed, to take a look at Rainbow (France). 😅😂

Unfortunately, when it comes to planning permission improving a property does not come into it. The reasons for giving planning permission, or not giving it can be completely random. I don't get it, here in the states, "snags" are the best place to find the big fish and the most fish. People actually place things in there on purpose so the biggest ones have a place to hide. Also, here in Wisconsin specifically, carp are a nuisance. Literally thrown away. Not something I condone but thats what they do. Do you not have game fish there? Just a little confused. But like what your doing there. Trying to make sense of it all for myself.

  • @carper1993

Carp are big, fight hard, all look unique and can be extremely hard to catch. Yes we have game fish but carp are more popular due to the above reasons. Snags like this are a problem because this lake will be a day ticket lake fished by anglers with all sorts of experience levels and so could lead to lost tackle and potentially tethered fish.

I’d like to know how you can afford all of this. How do you actually earn your money, because 39k subs aren’t doing it. Maybe give us a clue so we can all do similar things and enjoy some supercars.

jesus christ Why not just go down to the park and fish in the pond. That was like normal lake snaggs... I think you English people have a very strange view of carp fishing. as small ponds as possible and absolutely nothing that makes fishing difficult
