    Years ago, my friends and I used to play the Star Wars table top RPG. One of our players played a Tusken Raider who sought to leave the desert and get off world with his bantha. It was a glorious moment that made me realize that the Star Wars Universe could be populated by any one for any reason. They’ve become a fully formed culture instead of just a mysterious race with a glorified cameo appearance.

    I’ll be honest, I don’t think they’re THAT sympathetic given that their whole thing is going into towns and killing everyone for their stuff, and taking prisoners who they then use until they die. @@BichaeldeAngelo Well, that lore (for why they're called Tusken Raiders) wasn't just: They came along one day and just decided to attack us. Tuskens are stand-ins for Indigenous people of a colonized territory. No one bothered to ask them if it was okay to settle on their planet, to hunt their game, and kick them off of sacred lands. After several skirmishes, they decided to fight back and maybe convince the foreigners to leave. From that point on, they're consider "bad guys" because they didn't roll over, show their bellies, and tell the foreigners to take what they want? Yeah, eff that. They've been interesting to me since I first saw them, and I'm not the only one. The idea that they have no culture beyond being a violent nuisance to Galactic citizens sounds so ... colonial.

    Boba killing the sand creature using the chains is a callback to Leia killing Jabba using chains in ROTJ. I believe the white and brown droid with green visor that was dealing cards in the casino was a R-3X/RX-24 or better known as Rex the droid. It was a nice easter egg to include since RX droids are in Clone Wars and Rebels animated series. But it was also a deep cut since that droid actually used to be part of Star Tours ride and the guide of the Starspeeder 3000 before the ride got cancelled and changed into some other ride. Though, you can find the droid in Galaxy's Edge as DJ Rex

    "Pan down from the Twin Suns of Tatooine. We are now close on the mouth of the Sarlaac pit. After a beat, the gloved Mandalorian armour gauntlet of Boba Fett grabs onto the sand outside the Sarlaac pit and the feared Bounty hunter pulls himself from the maw of the sand beast". ~ Patton Oswalt, 2013

    This may have already been noted in the comments, but when Boba makes his 1st appearance in The Mandalorian he's wielding a Tusken staff as his weapon of choice. The Tusken 2nd in command gave him lessons maybe??

    The Book Of Boba Fett; Chapter One Breakdown:- This one-off show highlights what happened to Boba Fett after he fell into that Sarlacc Pitt in “Return Of The Jedi”. Expecting a sprinkling of guest cameos from other Star Wars characters such as Din Djarin @ The Mandalorian, Omega from The Bad Batch, Ahsoka Tano, etc. In The Mandalorian; Season 2, we saw Boba fully dressed like a Tusken Raider. Even his choice of weapon is a Gaderffii / Gaffi Stick. I believe this serial will showcase how he rises through their ranks via flashbacks whilst in the Bacta Tank. As well as solidifying his position as a self-appointed Crime Lord of Tatooine - replacing Jabba The Hut. Also, his sidekick: Fennec Shand seems more attuned to Tatooine’s underworld culture. Boba himself has undergone a morality shift - more benevolent and merciful after emerging from that Sarlacc Pitt. My prediction is that this show shall introduce at least one completely brand new main character to the Star Wars Universe. Fingers Crossed!

    Hi guys! Just wanted to say thanks for all the reactions and hard work you put into this channel! Really means alot to me. I think you both would really enjoy Arcane (netflix show). It's set in League of Legends video game universe but you don't need to know a thing about the game. It's an absolutely incredible series with tons of theology, character, style, and even some religious undertones. Anyway, would be really interesting to see how you react to one of the best shows I've seen ever. Thanks again!

    Boba Lore: When he has the view from his helmet... his helmet was powered down so he could only see out the small slit in the front. When powered up the helmet uses a heads up display like Iron Man's... but even cooler than Iron Man. Iron Man's display was designed for a normal person so the user sees their normal field of view through the display. But Boba is a trained bounty hunter, his helmet display shows a full 360 degree view around him. The far edges of his display are legit directly behind him. Allowing him to not only see someone behind him but quickly discern if hes more behind and to the left or right. Extended Universe Lore: The writers here have stuck pretty nicely to Boba's EU story and Im really happy about it. They made some tweaks to make things more grounded. In the EU Boba survives the Sarlacc put by telepathically connecting with one of the pits earliest victims. He is able to get the sarlacc to grab his backpack... which explodes and frees Boba. Boba is then found in his armor by the Jawas but the Jawas bring Boba on board still in armor instead of just take the armor. Then the stupid fucking Jawas drive the sandcrawler right into the same exact sarlacc boba just escaped from. This time Boba has more to work with and nearly cripples the sarlacc with concussion grandes then escapes. Later Boba travels back to the pit intending to bomb it with his Firespray (trying to use the now canon name instead of Slave1) but when he arrives he gives it some thought and decides the sarlacc was one of Boba's most respected enemies having nearly best him twice. So Boba let it live.

    "Slave-I" is still canon, it's just been a misunderstanding on a marketing tactic from Lego for accessibility and findability. The name "Slave-I" isn't ever said in the movies, so even fans that only know the movies don't associate that name with the ship. "Boba Fett's Starship" is much easier for fans and non-fans to find, this more sales for Lego.

  • @corporealghoul

    @corporealghoul

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@alexkramerblogs It is not. When LEGO first showed the box art with the Firespray they called it Boba's Starship with no name. When the LEGO Star Wars Design Director was asked about not using the name Slave1 they said that it came down from Disney that they did not want that name used any longer. At the time however, they had no replacement name so it was just Boba's Starship. Later Marvel began their War of the Bounty Hunters comic line, which I have been picking up since they started this run. In the press release leading up to the launch they showed covers based on a "tools of war" series that had each of the bounty hunters ships. When Boba Fett was listed they called his ship the Firespray. All the other names listed were ship names... not ship classes. Bossk and The Hound’s Tooth Boba Fett and The Firespray IG-88 and IG-2000 Zuckuss and The Mist Hunter Valance Beilert and The Broken Wing Dengar and The Punishing One The name was changed... I too grew up with the ship being called the Slave1... I am not offended by it being changed. You should not be either.

    @@corporealghoul thank you for more of the context! I had not heard the additional info from higher in LEGO or the additional changes from the Marvel line as well. Definitely gives a better perspective of it all. Thank you! :) I'm interested to see if the Firespray name will come up within this series and have significance to the direction Boba as a character is going.

    I do enjoy that many newcomers to Fett are enjoying this episode. It's shame the wiped out his old canon and made it Legend. But this new rewrite seems to be working great. Fett was always my favorite. 40 years later and he still has a massive fanbase, even more so now with this series.
