If she at performing at my funeral, then I ain’t dying.
A good movie I always thought Vada was a cool character and I could totally relate to her. As for Grandmoo, it's clear she was quite old and didn't always know where she was at. If I were at that funeral I would have enjoyed the performance and not been overly appalled.

@Mika Aoife I remember Harry saying that after his wife died, Grandmoo moved in to help take care of Vada but it seems like Grandmoo was never any help at all especially whenever she's in a scene, she is very still like a statue even though she has no control because she has Alzheimer's Disease which would have been better if she died at the end of the movie instead of Thomas J since Thomas J was a main character and not Grandmoo with Grandmoo being a lot of times silent and mostly not moving a muscle.

Gramoo singing at my loved-one's funeral would livein things up though. I would have loved the entertainment. 😅Pun not intended.
For an old bag, she sure did make it lively.
This is a very funny scene.
That old bag knew what she was doing, when Veda told her she was going to the bathroom.
Freaking hilarious but messed up. She was just singing that's it but I get it. She disturbed everyone's emotions at the funeral. Haha!!
I wanna book her for my funeral, not gonna lie.
VADA'S DAD: Do you have any idea how upset these people were in there?! ME: And do you have any idea how upset she is about the fact that you have a girlfriend?

Once Harry is done yelling at Vada, she’s priceless as she storms off, all like “Leave me ALONE!” And Shelly’s expression at the end here is pretty obvious: “Perhaps you shouldn’t have yelled at her like that, Harry.” Interesting trivia: In the paperback book that was based on the movie,(that was told in first person by Vada) Gramoo sang “There’s No Business Like Show Business” in this scene. Just one of those minor adaptations made for a book based on a movie. And in the book Vada says “Actually, I thought it was hilarious, but was Dad ever mad at me. And he blamed it all on me, yelling at me right in front of Shelly, at that,” just like he does here in the movie.
I want her to sing at my funeral

Same! Ive already told my closest peeps to make sure to make this happen at my funeral or i will haunt them forever. Lol. Its cringy and weird like me, so it would be a very fitting sendoff for me 😂
I would've been looking through the program notes to see if it was part of the services 🤣
Once Vada heard Gramoo singing she hid behind the double doors because she didn't wanna deal with the embarrassment of removing Gramoo out of the Chapel and apologizing to the congregation. She wanted Harry and Shelly to take the embarrassment instead as payback for kissing Shelly and getting Vada upset.

@Michael Valadez I guess that can be true since Vada was very angry that her dad Harry was just about to marry Shelley and Vada wasn't accepting Shelley as her future stepmother until the death of her best friend Thomas J. However, it's too bad Harry blamed Vada on it when she should have said that she was just going to the bathroom and Gramoo walked out and she should have said that she can't watch Gramoo constantly.
When I was a kid, I thought Harry was upset at Vada for not watching Gramoo do her performance!
I showed this scene to my nephew and said hey that’s gonna be Grammy in the future.
Expecting a kid to watch an older person...get over it dad

Old people can be interesting lol. We were at a church service and i was the lead camera man and this old lady with dementia sat next to me. No problem right? Wrong!😂😂😂 At the end we typically do a meet and greet and as im turning the camera off my x girlfriend goes to hug her and this old lady slaps her with such force she knocked my tripod down! We were friends still but i laughed at her saying DUMP ME WILL YA LOL😅😅😅
😅😅😅 go ahead grandma
The back saound.....im so proud 😭
That's funny. 😂
It's Quarter to three.......there's no one in the place......just you and me..... so saddle up......Go...... I got a little story you want to know......were calling my friend......the end of a dream and so.......make it one for my baby.......and one for the Rose...................LOL......Priceless
It's quarter to 3 🎤🥀
I’m thinking the family would have understood the grandma wanders and has dementia I wouldn’t have gotten upset I would probably be laughing to be honest
It’s quartah ta threeee 😂
1:15 -1:48 can you imagine if someone's grandmother did this in real life?
And one more for the road 🎶
Im sorry but this was hilarious. 😂😂😂
She has a nice voice
If anyone is offended by this timeless moment in comedy…I swear I think I am going to kill myself. This is so hilarious! 😆
1:53 NOW WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!!! HUH?!!! HUH?!!! IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO WATCH HER!!! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW UPSET THOSE PEOPLE ARE IN THERE?!!!

@Devin's Movie Corner I felt bad for Vada at that point that her father Harry had to confront her over that when she didn't mean for that to happen that her grandmother walked out there especially when she told her grandmother to stay in the room while she (Vada) goes to the bathroom. Especially after Vada walked out of the room, Shelley looked at Harry like she was saying "Harry, don't you think you were a little hard on her, she might have had a reason to walk out of the room." (Of course, Shelley should have given privacy allowing Harry to talk to her but, it was good that Shelley gave that look to Harry when Vada walked out).

@Logan5Girl40 I agree. Maybe Vada should have said that she had to go to the bathroom and she can't constantly be held responsible to watch her grandmother Gramoo. Harry himself should look out for his mom too.

Very good point!
Old people can get away with anything, ya know. Little known fact, ya know.
Why did he say gramoo and him were taking care of vada if vada and harry were taking care of granmoo?
@afriendofbean
Жыл бұрын
@Brand91 Actually, Harry told Shelley that after his wife died, Gramoo moved in to help take care of Vada (Vada was probably a baby at the time) where probably Gramoo was very helpful with the cooking, cleaning, helping Vada with schoolwork, etc. but when Gramoo got Alzheimer's Disease she couldn't be too much of a help anymore where it was Harry and Vada being the helpful ones for her.
Can someone please tell me what the background piano song is, I desperately need it and I don't know the title 😭
