So many of you have commented over the years about how the Nalf is a great ambassador for SHA, the Kreis, the Laend and Germany. This is a perfect match up. TSGO
"Geil" was a youth word when I was a teenager, about 35 years ago. Now I am 48 and am still using it on a daily basis. Not really sure how much "youth" is left to that word :)
I started watching videos of Americans a few weeks ago. That made me realize how stupid we are sometimes because we just complain. We're doing so damn well in Germany! It's people like you, with open eyes Germany see and understand that we no longer have anything to do with Nazis and don't want to have anything anymore! And it's people like you who bring me closer to Germany again and, as a German, make me proud of how we've developed. Thanks for that!! !
"Geil" was a youth word. In the 80s. It was a little controversial, because prior to becoming a youth word, meaning "great, crass, awesome, etc) it was the German word for "horny" (well, it still is). A British duo (Bruce and Bongo) even wrote a song about it in 1986: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Ymd60KR_o8azhrA.html

It is still used by the youth in that exact context. My elementary school teacher didn't want us to use it but she had a hard time explaining why. :)

@o.b.7217
Жыл бұрын
@@urlauburlaub2222 I think, you are mixing your terms here. "Gay" is a old word for "carefree" or "cheery". (1) "Geil" is the word for "horny" - that's its original meaning and in this sense, it is still in use today. (2) Since the 80s, it's also used as a "placeholder word" for "great, crass, aweseome". But apart from the fact, that a gay person can be geil (horny), of course - "geil" and "gay" have nothing to do with each other. These two words are not interchangeable.

Well, who is SHAs best promoter for now almost 7 years.....a man with now 105.000 subscribers (and they're getting more and more)....someone who made the south of Germany look so good in so many of his videos and showed this also to his folks in the States....I think to have you, Nalf, being involved into this project was a clever and logical step for the project "The Länd". The high tech companies in BW is one thing but there could not be a better ambassador for Good Vibes in the landscape and towns of this area than you. BW needs you..........WE NEED YOU !!!
Hey, the drone shot 0:52 is Würzburg, which is in Bavaria. Definitely worth a visit, though. It even has a UNESCO world heritage site the Würzburg Residence.

As a german I hab a big smile watching the D-English brainstorm meeting :)
Had to google the company...yes, they really do call their line of industrial robots "Horst"...
Just saw Unicorn Town on my flight from Newark to LAX. Nice job... especially since i had zero expectations (I'm german... I tell it like it is). I thought I'd watch the first five minutes of it and turn it off but was pleasantly surprised and watched the whole thing.
I guess you missed the original sound at 07:40 Mark asks: "what have you done already, what have u been involved in?" Uli says: "Documentation film" (At that point you say "Mee too, man") Than Mark replies: "That's shit".... THAT is typical direct German beeing.
....now I get it! The Würzburg drone shot was on purpose, because in the länd mark showed the rhinefalls, wich are in Switzerland! Bazinga, you are a genius Nalf 👍
You showed the Festung Marienberg in Wützbug. That‘s Frankonia (northern part of Bavaria), not Baden Württemberg. But „Wir können alles, außer Hochdeutsch“ is valid for Frankonians as well 😁

I recently found out that my Dad’s side is from a small town in Baden-Würtemmberg. All my German family lives in Munich now but I am hoping to make it to that town next year 😊 love your videos ❤
I really love your very beautiful aerial shot of the Festung Marienburg in my home city of Würzburg at 0:52. But although Würzburg is quite near to its border, it is not in Baden-Württemberg but in Bavaria (although we Franconians usually deny that 😉!).
Love it Malf! Can’t wait for the next episode. 📺
I love that the robot is called Horst.
I actually have a model of Hohenzollern Castle on my desk at work in the US and since I work for a very big German company, people sometimes recognize it and nod.
Wait, did you just claim Festung Marienberg 0:52 in Würzburg for Baden-Württemberg?

Really nice and funny, greeting from Switzerland, you know that country where the beautiful Rhinefall shot was taken in the beginning.. ;) good luck with this project.
Don't forget Porsche is Baden Wittenberg as well...
thanx for the interesting background information, very well done as always I have already spotted your cameo apperance, very nice maybe you could show us in a film the modern sides of schwäbisch hall
So cool and funny. Looking forward to some Christmas at the Alfieri's content.
That's the result of asking an American for help - the national campaign "Make Baden-Württemberg great again!".
Awwww, there is a drone shoot of my former school Michelbach. I even saw the window of one of my former rooms.
Awesome video as always
Extra thumbs-up for promoting the Länd - best state in Germany!!!
A funny video, and a good example how a film plot and reality get merged into a new film. The board of creatives, the director who see himself as the next Steven Spielberg, his assistants ( I love the scene where he dumps the suitcase outside the car and then gets in, as if he is a celeb) and the sober people at the robot company, and how he asks them "Have the robots build this place?". Pleasantly different to the usual promotional films that cities or companies often have made.

0:16 - Actually the best version is a mix between both versions: the "Baden-Württem" from the middle part and the "berg" from the end :D (at the end you say "werthemberg") I know how hard it is btw. It's sad to say that without a competent superior taking part in the meeting and stopping this fountain of buzzwords, a lot of meetings in big companies (especially the tech companies) actually go like that. (Speaking from personal experience.) One problem is, that the competent people realize, after trying to stop the fountain of fluff a few times, by asking the buzzword-generators to explain what they mean in more detail, that it's pointless. Since the modern buzzword-generators don't actually do any work, they spend their time on an never-ending-quest to increase the amount of buzzwords in their repertoire. Hence they are able to answer with even more buzzwords, becoming even more vague, conveying even less meaning, than before.

Very creative....Many years ago I experienced german corporate managements attitude toward advertising and publicity. In a word, stifling. It was just about impossible to think outside of the box. I also worked for a company based in Baden Wurttemburg, but in the USA division. I managed to suceed in some creative ideas by the grace of my american "idiotenfreiheit". Perhaps those americans who take BW companies up on their offer of a job can practice their own idiotenfreiheit in germany.
the video has strong "perpendicular lines" (famous video about marketing/board BS bingo) vibes xD
The länd of the death
A bit of a pity they didn't call it "The Ländle" instead to give it a nice little mix between English, German with the "Ä" and "le" endling for the area :) BUT it's at least a creative approach. Better that what my state Rheinland-Pfalz is doing I guess. Always like watching your videos, keep it up.
