This is such an informative video. I don’t recall anyone going through each individual setting, changing the numerical values and demonstrating the differences so clearly. It may not have been the main purpose of your video, but you deserve credit for the effort and hard work. Thank you!

Thank you for the kind words! I have also got a full 20min+ video explaining all the settings too! It’s quite a monster though
I’m a huge fan of versatility in recipes as well, my go to for a long time has been Fuji super hg v2. It’s a colder superia look but such an amazing recipe that can be used in literally any situation as it uses auto white priority wb. Been looking for a good warmer Astia recipe as well so can’t wait to try this out!
Thank you for sharing this video! I am new to Fuji and photography in general and for me this was easily one of the most helpful videos I've come across so far.
Your explanation was a big help. Lots of people talk recipes, but you explained what each setting does and why you made the choices you did. Wonderful.
Best recipe video so far in KZread. Thanks Goughie!
This is a great recipe. I have used it on my last trip to Berlin with my X-H2 and I am extremely happy with the results. Thank you.
Thanks for such a great video! You were especially helpful posting the side by side shots for the comparison of different settings, you’ve for sure given me a better idea of what kinds of settings to play around with trying to achieve my own perfect recipe 😊

Your explanation and sample images are excellent! Thanks!
Really helpful the way you explain the rationale for each of the settings, and at least on my iPad, i like the results you share. Really appreciate you sharing this.
Awesome! Love a bit of Astia. Definitely going to try your recipe. Looks delicious thanks man!
I went to this video from one of your others. So glad I did... this recipe is awesome... it is now my go to recipe for portraits... thank you very much for a great video and sharing this ...
Perfect content! So much information that I have to say THANK YOU! Definitely will try your recipe but I will also change mine now that you explained all that stuff in such a manner! Bravo mate!

Thank you Goughie. The recipe looks great and I will definitely give it a try.
I've lost count of the number of recipe videos I've watched on KZread and I can honestly say that this is the best one. I also like a warmer image so I'll be dialling this into my camera and testing it out this weekend. Thank you!

Thanks for some good and helpful content! I’ve shot in raw 100% for years. That’s mainly because my passion is in bird and wildlife photography. I’ve had a Fuji X100F for a bit over a year now as an everywhere I go camera. I plan on shooting raw plus jpeg going forward with my X100F and your formula looks like a winner for this purpose. Cheers!
Awesome video mate! I really like Astia too, the more behaved version of Velvia in a way 😅 Your simulation is fantastic, explains the wonderful warm tones in your fujifilm captures. But also reveals that Leica style preference :) Thank you for going over again the settings and their effects, seriously great help. Cheers!

Tried this out and really liked it with just slightly reduced warmth in the WB. Great video and very helpful.
Great explanation, this is the video I was looking for. Even better, actually! Thanks!
Thanks for all the explanation especially that chrome color comparison. I was never really sure was it does.
Love your choices here, especially auto white balance! Makes it so much more versatile. I'll be giving this one a shot as soon as I can!

Andrew keep in mind that once the WB has been altered it is no longer versatile because the color shift is built in. Just a heads up!
I followed one of your other recipes and it’s been a favorite of mine!
This is why I love Fujifilm. I’ve started shooting landscapes with custom recipes and it’s a lot of fun to experiment. Often times I prefer the JPEG to RAW in a processor like LR and many times I’m using the JPEG as a reference to get the RAW looking good.
This one is my favorite as well. I have tried my own, and tweaked a hundred color recipes of others, looking for a versatile, all around, go to color choice. This one is grab and go! It has taken the place of me, sitting for hours and processing my raw travel and family photos in PS or LR. Thanks, Goughie!

Amazing ! The way you broke everything down was perfect ‘ truly appreciate it . I hope you can create more videos that break down recipes . Maybe something in BNW.
I’m pretty new to Fujifilm and have been looking for the ‘do it all’ recipe, this could be the one! I’ve tried a few and I keep going back to the built in Astia. I will give this a go 👍
New here and i need to thanks u for all this information! You got a new subscriber and u deserve a lot more of it. I bough a X100F and im in love with all the kind of things that u can do on the recipes and your video for sure is going to help me to develope my style. You are a genius!

Best recipe video I've seen! Thanks!
I'm new to the X100V (though been making photos since the mid-'70s), and new to your channel. It's been, by a country mile, the most informative and interesting of the ones I've seen. This video, in particular, has been really useful for me; I've set your recipe up and shot with it and love it. I've also adapted it slightly (well, pretty fundamentally) by using all the same settings but for Acros-Ye, and find that's giving me some lovely images too. Thanks for the brilliant content.

Great video, good explanation. Also, good to see a recipe that does not use Classic Chrome. I have been trying a recipe very similar to yours with the exception of WB offset, I use a lower offset and clarity. I have touched clarity as I don't fully understand it.

Thank you for this first of a kind informative video on this subject, I now have a much better understanding of how these simulations work. Other recipes that I've tried had too much contrast, too grainy or had a color cast that didn't work for me.
Amazing and informative video! will definitely try this out. thank you!
Great work, Goughie
wonderful video , the best on Fujifilm recipes

BRILLANT. Thank you. Perfect.🎉
Looks awesome, great video, and easy to follow
Excellent video. Very smart thinking.
THANK YOU great video. New to Fujifilm.......Very informative for a newbie
Useful case study, thanks for sharing.
Astia!! That is my go to simulation all the time. I like a lot of saturation in my photos and I find Astia strikes the right balance for me. CC is way overrated imo. You’re right about making your own recipes. I used FXW recipes for a while, but found them to be not that versatile and I found many of them to have too much of a yellow tint, too desaturated. I just make my own now. Great video.
Thank you for sharing! I’ll be adding it to my 100V
Hey - thank you so much for all your great videos. I'm in love with my new X-E1 and wish Fuji would revive that sensor. I came across an awesome Interpretation of Portra 400 there which is based on pro neg high (don't like color chrome - mostly boring). I spend the day trying to mimic that result on the x100v - it is unbelievable how different the base settings need to be if you want to achieve the same results. It comes down to whitebalalance a lot and color saturation. Whereas the xe-1 only needs a - 1 redshift - the x100v needed a +3 redshift (x-e1 is at 6300k, x100v is at 6700) and plus 3 color setting. It's all about the warmth these newer sensors are missing. Pretty happy with the result though.
Thank you so much for sharing the recipe and most importantly sharing why you were leaning towards those settings. I learned a lot. I was previously using Oywind Nordhagens "Modern Negative" recipe which also uses Astia. I already knew how awesome this simulation is, especially during summer being seaside/riverside. Very cool to see others also like the simulation, which seems to be overlooked at times (classic chrome...hello?). I dialed in your settings but already knew I had to change a few things coming from other recipes (DR, Grain, Shadow mostly). So, sorry Goughie, I may end up butchering your recipe and make it my own. ;-) Cheers.

Thanks for this video. I subscribed immediately. Very easy for a French like me to understand you by the way!
Thank You so much!!!! I really learned a bunch 😊
Good work, G. I watched it twice.
The best informative video. thank you.
Astia is rapidly becoming my favourite film sim. Will definitely try your recipe. Unfortunately neither my X-pro2 or GFX 50R have the clarity and colour chrome adjustments. Maybe I'll just set up a preset in LR for those two settings and "apply on import" to the jpegs. The color chrome blue effect seems to be doing what the "blue saturation" slider does in the Camera Calibration panel in LR, or similar anyway.
looks quit nice :) I definitely use the settings soon 👏
Great video and really nice recipe!
nice recipe! I'll try it out right away. I had bsiher only standard astia used and then applied my preset on it. Your preset is but times a good reason to get my Fujifilm camera out again. :D

Your recepie is my current point and shoot choice! I also have a suggestion for you; when making a video on other peoples recepies, always include examples of your own recepie so we can have a “benchmark” from which one can better assess specifics of each recepie you present 🤗 Best regards
Looks very promising. The auto white balance is very welcome since I was looking for a more alround recipe. Most beautiful recipes indeed have a fixed white balance which makes them only usable in certain situations. I've hammered the settings in my X100v and will try them soon :)

I´m not using Film sims. I always feel that they are falling apart in different conditions. I have been testing them out earlier, and the funny thing is that all the stored sims on my V is based on Classic Chrome. I love Astia, so now I have plotted your recipe in to slot 7. Named it Under Construction and I’m going to give jpg another shot 😉 I shot a few pictures of my dog now using your sim, Kodachrome 64, Kodak Portra 400, Kodak Ektar 100, Kodak Gold 200 and Agfa Vista 100, and to be honest, your sim won that battle easily. Thank you for spiking my interest again ❤

SO SICK!! IMMA TRY THIS ON MY 100S IM ABOUT TO LEAVE RAW FOR A WHILE!
Wow, a recipe not using Classic Chrome or Classic Negative. I am surprised! Jokes aside, I really enjoy this and added this to my camera :) nice switch from all the Acros, Classic Chrome and Classic Negative recipes. I can't wait for Spring/Summer to bring out Velvia again.
