There is a reason people do not swim when it is cold. I guess it helps that you brought a change of clothes.

Anybody ever swim in lake Superior? I don't recommend it 🍁🥶
I miss swimming in winter, when I was young my friend and my sister and I would eat frozen strawberries while sitting with our legs in the pool then we'd swim around for a bit then get ready for school
Bravo! A winter dip in Loch Lomond is now on my bucket list...mainly because a winter dip in Lake Winnipeg could make me kick the bucket!
"Sorry I'm pulling out a wedgy!" LOL
Thank you, Erin, for bringing us along on another adventure. I hear those Loch Lomond sharks can be up to 12 feet long; it’s a miracle you survived!
After all these challenges over the last year, I'm glad you can get good experiences like this. 🏊♀️
This is grand! Again, it's good to try new things. Glad to see another of your outdoor videos too! And Loch Lomond looks like the perfect spot! It was also fun watching your reactions! Love this! Thanks Erin!

You are braver than I! Love the part about changing and the people walking by. No matter the timing, you could just count on it. Another great video.
Yayyy congrats on your first wild swim!! 👏🎉
Well done, Erin! It’s really good for your circulation. Congratulations!
that looked like a lot of fun :) I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for adding the captions. It makes it easier to understand
This is the first video I watched of yours. Really enjoyed this and I like open water swimming. Well done Erin . You should make more wild swimming videos.
It always makes me laugh whenever I see a video 10:01 mins. long. I remember the Pewdiepie memes. Great video Erin! I came for the Scottish accent lessons, but I stayed for the warm and friendly tone of your videos. Its like a friend telling me how her day was.
I do the Polar Plunge every year on new years day. A "friend" convinced me to do it. I hate it as it is soo cold but it is healthy. I am proud of you Erin.
Liked the adventure and production of video. Well Done! . . . . luv the flat horizon of the Lock, a great example of F.E.
Oh my gosh you did so well! I just moved to Edinburgh from London and am just about to start wild swimming nearby - eek!
Haven't to the Loch since 2019.....and I doubt I'd ever get in there without a dry-suit. Brave wee lass.
You are a brave person to go into that water. I live in the desert and have never seen that much fresh water in one place. It looked as cold as it could be without seeing any ice or snow. I bet it was a good feeling to check another adventure off your list.
Great job finally doing something that you've been wanting to do. Maybe it will start a new tradition for you to enjoy nature around you. I personally don't understand swimming in cold water. I've swam in a spring feed pool at Fort Clark in Brackettville, Texas. The water is 68 degrees Fahrenheit year round and that was too cold for me.
So beautiful the scenery. It’s on my to-do list to visit for another day.... My hot flashes would probably love a dip in the loch 🤣🙋♀️
"Cactus socks" Oh no, I might be in love
I am enchanted y your voice...could listen to you all day!
Great video Erin. I am going wild swimming this year, I can't wait. Slanj.
My God Erin you’re way braver than I, I’ve never been in Loch Lomond when I haven’t been absolutely frozen and that’s always been at the height of summer!
I'm so jealous! I miss being able to do this. We used to go swimming all year round when we lived next to the water
We will probably move to Edinburgh next year. And I find your videos both useful and entertaining. Hope to see you there.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that makes random noises when I freak out. These days, it’s when I forget my mask😭

This is pure madness!! We have a thing near where I live, on the Chesapeake Bay (near Washington DC and Baltimore), called The Polar Bear Plunge. They do this in January when it's freezing outside. I think sometimes they cut a hole in the ice, if there is any, and then the clearly insane people jump in the water.
Love this!

as someone who lives in Florida, this reminds me why we don't get the gulf until the water temp gets to the high 70's to 80 degrees f (26+ degrees C)!!

Well done 👍 Erin!! You know what? The best way to get used to the water is to just dive in head first. Seriously. Hey did Dan bring any fruit with him? Lol in all the videos he’s eating fruit 🍎. So you finally was able to go for a wee dip with your pal..I’m glad about that😁. You are so funny!! I think the farther into the loch you went the funnier you got!! What’s next bungee jumping?? Well I guess if your going to take a dip in a loch that is pure baltic it might as well be a nice loch 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Hahah aye I've only ever swam in it in summer! This was fun
Glad you had fun turning into a "vanilla pop-cycle" Erin. Plus it was very smart to get out of the wet suite as fast as possible. The splashing must have set off "Loch" alarms to generate a "trying to get dry crowd" LOL Make sure your swim suit is of a good synthetic material. The smallest bit of wet cotton on the body will draw so much body heat from it, to make it near impossible to warm up / recover from hypothermia.

I would love to do this but I don’t live in Scotland I live in Northern Ireland I only got to swim in Lough Neagh
We have the Polar Plunge here in US and Canada. On News Year's Day we rush/jump into a frozen over body of water that has been opened up. Usually 32° F / 0.0° C. Try that.

Good for you Lass "Well Done". Remember 'Somethings in Life cannot be Taught but need to be Lived'. It was good that you had Dan there for support - always have your safety in mind when doing any Challenge!! You should've had a wee swig of a Malt or a Rum Coffee when you got out & dressed again into warm clothes, I'm sure that would've Heated you on the inside for sure.
I’m glad to see you gave it a try. A good winter swim wakes up the soul. Aren’t you glad your friend was persistent and talked you into it?
