as someone who got his r3 within the last two months, even looking at an mt10 through video feels like a death threat

I spent a year on my husky svartpilen 401 for my first bike. Picked up the mt10 last year and Im just a few weeks short of having it a year. It's been a fantastic upgrade. With the rider modes, it allows you to work your way into the bike and power.

Honestly, a MT-07 would be just enough of a upgrade from the R3. I’ve demo the MT-09sp and it just asking for trouble. Breaks stops on a dime, throttle response gives plenty of power while asking to be open up. The power, weight, breaking, and the addiction of the MT10 and R1 is far beyond the R3. But once you have the skills and mastery, any bike will be rideable for you.

if it makes you feel any better, im a fairly extreme adrenaline junky, and i decided to buy a 2011 R1 for my first bike. I crashed it on a 4 lane highway coming over a hill at 45 mph because traffic was at a dead stop and I couldn't see it until it was too late, but BEFORE that it was my favorite thing in this world. Never gone so fast or had so much fun. Full exhaust, race tune, low voidrate racing tires, and a cracked radiator lol

I've been riding a 125cc for 3 years. Just only passed my bike test, now looking to get an Mt10 or the ktm 1290 Super Duke R. I've been getting bored and something more punchy.
I've never been so nervous for a random stranger riding a 1000 cc bike but you handled it like a champ bro..
"first turn, not bad, didn't die" so relatable LOL Congrats, man! Been enjoying the content. Huge upgrade!
"First turn... alright, didn't die, good, good..." ... "So, hey, this thing has a bunch of features..." I am in literal tears. Thank you, lmfao.
What tremendous words to start the video with.
Tbh if you stay in the rain mode this bike is SUPER controllable and feels extremely safe and is still fast af haha. Then again though, I got it tuned so maybe that's why it's more manageable.
You shouldn't be scared of any bike like it only goes as fast as you allow it just remember that, id love to be able to own a bike like that id open it out straight away its got to be done, im currently riding a 2002 ZX6R 636!
tilt you camera a little upward it is a litle frustating staring at the tank keep up the good content

Definitely, noticed it was tilted too low once I saw the video at home. I was too distracted with the bike to catch it early. Will do for next time!

😊 happy for you getting an Yamaha MT10. Congratulations. Sweet ride, and I absolutely love the choice of colour. Nice looking bike. 👌
Great choice my man, just keep respecting it like you do and you will be a very happy puppy. I still giggle like you every time I get on mine.
This guy had the same reaction that I did to my first 1000cc lol. Instant sub, this was a pretty enjoyable video.
Bought my first 1000cc last August. A 2015 s1000rr. I rode it from Santa Barbra to OC california which is 150 miles. Mind you I had not owned a motorcyle for almost 4 years up to that point. i rode for 6 years before that tho. I was crazy nervous! Congrats on the new bike and ride safe!

I did the same thing granted not a 4 year gap. But I got a s1k 2 months ago rode it back home with a passenger. Had a smoked visor on my helmet and it was dark outside and about 44 degrees in Michigan. I was basically having a 90 minute anxiety attack lmao
Crazy second bike! Ride safe man!
How many miles dod you put on the 390 before upgrading? Felt pretty quick
Heres the good news....you could throw a leg over a million CC motorcycle, and it STILL only do what YOU tell it to do. Just enjoy the ride brother
I just bought my mt 03 with that same teal as my first bike yesterday. Beautiful bike man!
Love your reaction. It‘s too real when you make a big transition on a bigger bike 😅 stay safe brother
Looks like a ton of fun. Stay safe.
Nice that bike is my dream bike, absolute beast
I can feel the joy. I want an XSR900 right now BADLY
I can tell this guy will reach 1m in the future
That little laugh you did reminded me when i saw the monster coming up the stairs in a scary movie. i was so scared that i was uncontrollably laughing in the movie theater. I feel you saw the same monster but on 2 wheels
I just recently went from an Indian scout to a bmw s1000xr and holy shit wat a massive difference! It took my a little bit to get used to the extreme pickup and massively better handling.
awesome bike!
My first bike tiger 900 gt pro. Test ride the mt10 and loved it.
I went from a r3 for 2 years and got a cbr 1000rr as a second bike….a real eye opener for sure the power seems endless but with a lot of common sense they are completely manageable 👌🏻👍🏼
I recommend aiming the camera angle a little more upwards so the viewers can see the road more, other than that this video is awesome!
Well wishes man. Bike rocks

What jacket is that?
With all the electronics they come with now doesn’t really matter if it’s a 700 or 1000 you can tame it down untill your comfortable
I’ve been on 0cc till the age of 37 and bough 1000cc.. i regret i never bought it earlier!
My first bike was also a ktm 390 duke as wel first gen and I've ridden it for 7 years and i instantly upgrade to the 2023 mt09 sp as my second bike and fortunately ive ridden some liter bikes in that time so am not that scared anymore but it has freaking torque for days crazy power more than enough for me
Put on a simple decat link pipe with the stock headers and muffler, and get the ECU flashed, and it picks up 10hp up top, easily. That simple mod puts about 150hp to the wheel, rather than the 138ish it comes with. It's a brilliant bike
@theenzoferrari458
Ай бұрын
It comes with 150 stock from the factory. What are you on about?
@SquireSCA
Ай бұрын
@@theenzoferrari458 Manufacturers advertise hp measured at the crank. But you lose about 15% of that through drivetrain losses, so the dyno measures the HP at the wheel. Same with cars. By the time the crank HP has to overcome all the losses going through the transmission to the wheels, you end up being about 15% lower than the car/bike maker claims. When you get rid of the CAT and flash the ECU to remove all the throttle by wire restrictions and get it tuned, you pick up 10-12hp at the wheel. Meaning, your new HP at the crank is closer to 175hp...
@SquireSCA

@@theenzoferrari458 HP on the dyno is always measured at he wheel. Most MT-10's come in around 138-140 at the wheel stock.
I got a zx14 and i may never go back now. I rode a grom for 3 years now and i think i might only touch the grom for short trips
cosy, fun and try not to die!
keep it up mate
great video quality man, but I gotta say that the audio is killer on my ears, I have a studio headset and the spikes were unbearable. Nice bike, it should be lots of fun lol
First three words you said is what I said verbatim when I rode this thing for the first time too
I just bought a brand new mt-10 less than a month ago. Yesterday someone reversed into it while it was parked and took off without leaving a note - hit and run.
IMO you did right, using the rain mode to get used to the bike. I do have a filming suggestion, raise your action camera so we can see more of the road and less of the gas tank.
oh man, that quickshifter is clEEEAn xD
Kinda funny hearing someone with a liter bike talk about practicing slow speed maneuvers! :D
@motorcyclifter
24 күн бұрын
It's easy to go fast in a straight line, thats just twisting the throttle. But low speed takes real skill, which is why I like practicing it so much! But I do like going fast when I can as well, lol. Both are fun
damn, nice
keep safe n´ enjoy
Do these have turn signals or does it vary bike to bike?
@motorcyclifter
21 күн бұрын
This has turn signals and emergency lights. All street bikes have turn signals but not all bikes have emergency lights, depends on which make and model.
beautiful bike , the mt09 is honestly crazier up to 80 or so
Bro, that brake fluid looks like coffee, I'd be surprised if the original owner did any maintenance including the 600 mile break-in.
Bro started riding a month ago ur crazy
I don't ride track, and I've red lime my s1000rr in every gear, where is the unused ppwer? 100 bikes does have a place on the street. Passing power is great. If it had mp place on the streets they wouldn't sell them With mirrors.
If it already hasn’t been flashed, dyno’d, and tuned, wait until it has… hit up Moore Mafia, they will properly uncork it and let that power flow!
Question... Did you ride friends bikes? The 400,500,600 and 800 but owned a 390?

first second of me buying my z1000 lmfao love it
My mto3 gets seventy mph in third. If you go redline, which you will always do on the turtle!
I never use first gear on the turtle gang bike.
Ohhh I know who u bought this from 🤣 definitely a good deal in this mt10 🎉
Enjoy it man 1000s are fun! Just respect her and she will respect you. I love both my zx10 and my s1k
PEOPLE DON'T DO IT. I have 4 years experience only on a 250r ninja. Bought a 12r ninja last year. I'm keeping it but it was a huuuge mistake
I'd like a faster bike than my Ninja 400 (ECU tuned) but I don't trust myself yet. Not my ability, just that I might want to go too fast, too often. :) I can wring out the Ninja 400 pretty good in the meantime. :)

Don't worry if you hit too hard out of 1st or second even 3rd gear it won't carry you into anything you might get a little hurt if you hang on just let go because it's going to come right from under you so quick you will still be standing there. If you hang on your doomed. So just let go if you hit it to hard don't fight it it's a monster so treat as such and it won't eat you.
Can I have ur duke 390🙏

I'm a brand new rider with only MSF experience. I went straight to the 2024 MT-09. No regrets. I recommend it.
No way you are a beginner rider. Obviously claiming to be a beginner on a 1000cc will get you more views. Hopefully this does not entice real beginners to get a 1000cc. Not cool.
@motorcyclifter

I am a beginner even if it does not seem like it, I practice, ride, and take more courses than most people but Ive only been riding for a few months. Secondly, I have other videos talking about how beginners should start on LOW CC bikes (200-500 at 400ish). I have NEVER promoted starting on a 1000cc bike nor do I promote it on this video. In fact, I even say "this is a bad idea". Listen to what Im saying in my videos before you make a dumb comment.
Be careful that's a mean puppy for a first time keep it rubber side down bro
U should probably fix the camera angle a little bit more not just looking directly on to the bike it should also be more looking out on the road
