@liveandletlive2014 for a trained musician Sleep Token is a huge sensory overflow at the beginning. You hear Metalcore but at the same time it's a surprise test for Jazz groves, the guitar and bass are on crack and Vessel mixes all kind of tricks from any genre out there while doing his own stuff.

One of the things that makes Sleep Token so good is the intensity contained within a well-modulated rich-toned voice. Very much like Maynard from Tool.

Always thought Tool would stand alone for me, but that was the first place my mind went when I started listening to them. Which is crazy, the sound is entirely different. But the song structure, the layering. Lyricism and story telling. The conviction of the vocals. The technicality of the drums. It's all on another level with these two bands specifically. No idea what kinda headcanon you were in when you wrote that comment, but "nervousness" is not what's happening here.

@ 34:58, the "Oh and my love" is the exact same key and general progression as the second part of the first verse "You've got my body, flesh and bone". So not only are they carrying a heightened sense of that same ambient/more chill vibe, they are also picking up and progressing on melodies from all the way at the beginning, as is the guitar (notes played are similar to the chord progressions a bit earlier in the song). It's a simultaneous callback to like 3-4 different parts of the song, while ALSO making it different AGAIN. Absolutely insane. Unconventional songstructure is my favourite thing in music and Sleep Token is just fucking KILLING ITTTTTTT

The anticipation on Will's face for that last third of the song - he wants her reaction to the complete flip this song makes. It's worth the wait ❤

Every time I see Will, he makes me think that there still good people in this world. Love his energy and passion.

2 completely polar opposite types of singers just chilling and admiring music. Such a cool analysis, Will is such a fun dude to watch.

At 31:45 I knew she wasn't ready, but the reaction was priceless. This song is one of a kind, and can mean alot of different things to different ppl. It's therapeutic to me, to others it's the unofficial bedroom anthem of 2023. The list goes on.

The passion about music and vocals that Will shows is infectious. Like there is so much cynicism in the world today and he is having an absolute blast in this video while promoting a band HE ISN'T EVEN IN! Love it.

I love the big sister little brother interaction they naturally emit 😂😂 it goes to show that when people who are passionate about something get together there's natural chemistry that surfaces. Its amazing hearing them talking about the feels around the 30 minute mark. Currently deployed to Africa, and I will blast this song in my headphones while walking around base at 2AM. Those feels are so real.

I studied as an opera student for many years and I SO APPRECIATE THIS WOMAN’S EXPERTISE focusing on what Vessel is doing vocally. I know people get it, he’s really good. But as a vocalist, I’m always thinking critics of this band don’t know HOW GOOD! All the transitions he pulls of with his voice are INSANE and difficult.

This exists. Theater of tragedy and draconian are two bands that do this and I love em. Check out theaters old stuff. There new stuff sucks and no metal vocals. Or any draconian song.

I really want her to react to Death of Peace of Mind, even though it’s not my favorite. But starting out with Noah’s pandemic challenge video, so she can see how it came full circle, into an amazing piece of art, from the weirdest beginnings.

Elizabeth tells the whole story in her face. From the minute those drums came in, she was hooked. That smile didn't fade once. Absolutely love your love for music Elizabeth!

He treats his vowels like he’s savoring the sweetest candy, or like he’s transporting a tiny bird egg in his mouth. Every thing is so deliberate and drunkenly gentle. I’m wet. 😅

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO US???" And oatmeal was just ejected from my nasal cavity onto my keyboard. It's so fulfilling watching two repected professionals of different music genres (though I think we can safely say at this point that we've brought her over to the Dark Side) who appear to be kindred souls appreciate another professional artists work.

The friendship the world didn't know we needed.

Somehow while listening to this song, I heard elements of Pantera, Type O Negative, and Queensryche all mixed in together. Pretty amazing.

I've been impatiently waiting for Elizabeth to finally hear Sleep Token. They're overwhelmingly amazing. Every...single...song. Vessel is one of my favorite vocalists of all time, his range and expression are among the very best. And the drummer, II, is just...inhumanly talented. I could go on and on but I'll just wait for the inevitable CV Sleep Token journey. Just pick a song and you'll fall in love. And I'm so glad Will joined her for this one. For those who don't know, his vocal cover of Chokehold is magnificent. I gotta ask, if you ever think you know who Vessel is, don't tell anyone. The band's commitment to anonymity is integral to their art form. I'm definitely curious but I'd honestly rather not know, and I think a lot of fans feel the same. ,,

The look on Will's face when Elizabeth starts talking about it being almost jazzy is just full of "oh you have no idea". Elizabeth's description of the solo "bubbling over" is honestly also a really good visual description for the progression. Edit: that whole portal-tangent was the cutest

I kept asking for this song, and was getting butt hurt that it wasn’t happening. This is such an unexpectedly amazing treat. As the old saying goes, good things happen to those who wait. I also absolutely love how this friendship between Elizabeth and Will has blossomed, so wholesome!

To me it's weird that The Summoning is the one getting all they hype when personally I think that Vore is an objectively better song. I suppose it was uploaded a couple of months before Vore though so hey ho.

I’m only 5 minutes in and I’m smiling so much just from Wills genuine respect and her impeccable ear for totally intimate vocal moments…and how much FUN they’re both having. Thank you!

I absolutely LOVE their synergy. They compliment eachother so well and add such a different element while being an amazing duo to watch.

Sleep token’s song Chokehold gives me goosebumps. You know a songs production and molding of every hz you’re hearing is just absolutely resonating with you when that happens. Every now and then it can make my scalp tingly - (ie ASMR)

I’m so jealous of these two becoming besties!! I also adore how much of a fan girl Will is for Sleep Token!

Why is Will literally me whenever I try to show my friends music? It's the same energy, I swear!

The vocal transitions are very “jinjer” ish. The way the singer moves through different vocals. This song is awesome.

Vessels voice is orgasmic! He makes you feel how he felt, in the moment that he experienced whatever it was that made him feel that way! Its like eminem, you feel the venom in his words sometimes, and your like "woah" cos you know he felt it, when whatever it was, happened. Thats when you know songs come from the heart and soul of the person singing it. I have this thing where I will relate a personal experience to a song im singing, and my voice suddenly becomes a literal emotion! I dont know how else to put it! However, I'm literally crying happy tears at Will fan girling over one of my favourite bands, like my 48yr old self isnt doing the same! I've been a lorna shore fan for a lil bit too, so im just gonna save this video for the days im feeling crappy! Also, you guys are giving me life with the cutest friendship! Big love from a wet and windy south London xx

Absolutely loved this. Will giving his perspective as a fan and as a metal/harsh vocalist balanced with Elizabeth's knowledge and experience was so great. Also, it seems like they are genuinely friends which makes the back and forth wholesome

The first time I heard Will sing clean vocals was a cover of a Sleep Token song! I was totally blown away!

I am totally in love with this song . Some might says it’s too long … booo. . Well I say it’s too short . I needed more .

I would genuinely watch you guys do a 6+ hour reaction to the entire album when it comes out.
