At 42, I've only heard 2 bands ever that could pull off the off-tempo tone. Tool, and now Sleep Token. And after Tool being my #1 since the 90's, Sleep Token has shot right past them! And man, Vessel's voice! If my soul had a G spot, they found it! WORSHIP!

Very true. But what is crazy, Sleep Token is ahead of TOOL musically and lyrically at this stage in their respective timelines. The potential for the future is insane. Additionally, TOOL doesn’t really shift into different genres the same way. I have no idea how Sleep Token is this deliberate. I’ve seen TOOL 14 times since 1997. I have seen just about every solid band in any genre and I have never heard such clarity as I did at the DFW Sleep Token show. This band is pretty amazing.

What’s crazy is the more you listen to this album the more you’ll enjoy it. It had to grow on me at first but now I’ve listened to it entirely too much

Best album I've ever heard in my life

What I love about Sleep Token is that their sound is so diverse they can appeal to all different types of crowds when it comes to music tastes. Want hardcore screaming? They got you. Want somethin more chill and emotional? They got you. Want something more soul/R&B? They got you. And yet somehow even with all the different styles, they still maintain a unique "Sleep Token vibe" and sound to them. Just an overall amazing band.

I remember 10 years ago me and my buddy were talking where bands would go and this is exactly it. A mixture between beautiful writing, wicked heavy, and technical both on riffs, beat, and structure/arrangement. The rock world has lacked this. It’s beyond refreshing

I've watched A LOT of reactions to this song and it's crazy how almost everyone who is really listening has a VISCERAL response to is...chills, sweating, feeling of "flying through space"--and then the bridge--and then the MFing FONK...the smiles, the joy...the stank face. This is a gospel album.

Sleep Token is absolutely phenomenal. The different layers in terms of drumming, guitar, keyboards and those Godly vocals is insane. The first time I heard this song, I was blown out of the water. Truly beautiful song.

Welcome to Post Metal. Time signatures are challenging to identify because they are probably changing up just when you thought you got a grip. They are going to throw curves and swerve whatever you think is going to happen. It's always a ride.

I started playing drums at the end of august this year. Before I watched many drum covers and videos from Drumeo. There I saw Greyson Nekrutman drumming through "Hypnosis". After that I searched for the original, then I heard this song. I got big respect for metal now. I never knew that I could love this kind of music before.

I discovered sleep token 2 months ago and I just can't stop listening to them! I want to go see them but the closest concert is 2 states away ! Fuck it ima do it

The reason the “beat is awkward” is because this band uses complex time signatures so it’s hard to catch a beat and for a normal person that doesn’t know much about music you’d have to learn to like this music in a different way than simple music personally I don’t even listen to sleep token other than one song and it’s for that reason there’s no hook or nothin but I still like complex music
