Started the game last week, bought myself a Constellation Andromeda last night with money I earned from mining. Truly a beautiful ship. I literally stared at it for 20 minutes before I even entered inside.

Grats on your Tana acquisition 🚀. A friend has one and I agree that it's quite versatile for its price point. During Xenothreat fights, he really found a niche in our squad by just hanging back and unloading the surprising amount of missiles it carries at small fighters; even against superior craft, it can make for an effective force multiplier. The bed issue confuses me; even in space, you can go horizontal wing mode and log out, I've done it before.

They just need to add a button in the bed area to flip the ship, and of course later tie that into the locked / unlocked / permissions stuff :D

As someone who carefully scoped out what to buy before entering the game, the Misc Tana was my only ship purchase besides the initial starter. I got that two years ago, and it is my favorite ship to fly. I've earned more in game to fly many different things, but I just keep returning to my Tana. It's a fun daily flyer, and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks so. With the cockpit visibility and changing wing position, it's just a delight to take off, fly, and land. I tend to tell people when they play, don't pick the ship that has the best stats, pick the ship that brings a smile to your face whenever you fly it. For me, that's the Reliant.

Been a long time bf fan. Found your channel during the bf3 era. I remember watching you showing the hangar module of SC and was blown away. Have been backer since then. Thank you for what you do and looking forward to more SC content from you level!

My first in game purchase was an Origin 325a… still my favorite ship! Nothing feels like flying your first hard earned ship.

I've been taking out hammerheads in my Tana.. don't see a reason to trash it like most youtube videos. I do circles around most ships in PvE and hardly get hit so long as I stay on the move.

I'd love to see more of star citizen, I hope the game gets more coverage so that there is a bigger playerbase when it finally is finished

The reliant is by far my favorite ship in the game. Iv had SC for about 2 years now and every time the game wipes. I pick up the tana or kore. That ship scratches all the space itches I have. I'm glad to see someone as esteemed as you recommending a good ship to new folks.

I never tried it, because it didn't give me a good first impression. But now looking at it I like it better then the Avenger Titan

Bed logging actually works pretty good now most of the time... the problem here was the reliant itself defaulting to that orientation. There are not many other ships that will have a problem like that.

@@wolfgamer8770 when you log you the ships landing gear is up by default. That mean for the Reliant that the wing is vertical and the door locked.

Really glad you highlighted the Tana, it's always been one of my favorite little ships but I haven't flown it in a while because it was not flying well but I am going to take it out again for a test drive! Its really sad actually. Jam packed with microtransactions after ripping customers off to the tune of half a billion dollars while still not having a playable game coming up on a decade of _development_ . The worst part of it though is the cult followers.

@@BeefIngot i mean... did you go blind and deaf before clicking on this video? it is playable, just not feature complete and a far cry from what its working towards. it's impossible to say i'm not disappointed with how long it's taking, but i spent less in this game than some others, and feel more satisfied with my time playing and what i got out of it than i did with the games i spent more money on. people can enjoy the game just fine so long as they know what they're getting into, and when things work properly, the game is like nothing else.

@@TheEveryDayC a tech demo was not a playable game. Crazy people keep acting like this is the most amazing thing they've ever seen when you look at the videos and nothing really is happening. People ignore the crazy micro transactions, ignore the lack of content and then act like this is the best thing since sliced bread. When I say cult followers, I'm not joking.

@@BeefIngot It’s mainly macro-transactions for ships, which are entirely optional. You can get everything else that’s already playable from within the PU. The scale, detail and interactions are unlike anything else out right now, with much more to come. It’s not a cult following, it’s people watching and waiting or helping test and improve the game towards what we all hope it will be. Over the course of Invictus, there have been over 100k new accounts in just the first 3-4 days. That’s a lot of people to just blindly jump into a “cult”. Maybe you should give it another go, see what you’re missing. Find a crew and let the good times roll. Free fly is still in progress, won’t even cost you a penny.

I’m a huge Tana fan in the game. So much fun to be had with that ship.

Hi Levelcap, excellent video, concise and it looks and sounds great too. Maybe i missed it but its worth noting that the Tana carries a whopping 20 size 2 missiles. You mentioned the wing racks but of course it also carries 8 size 2 missiles hidden in each wing. So 16 in missile bays plus the 2 +2 on each exterior rack on the wings. I run my Tana with 6 Bagders and let a lot of missiles fly before engaging with repeaters!

As a lifelong B-Wing enthusiast, the Reliant has been my favorite SC ship for years. Nothing else like it!

The Reliant Tana has been one of my much beloved favorite ships in SC since the start of my journey, 2 years ago. In the current balance, wacking 6 fixed s2's onto it melts most ships easy!

I always kind of ignored the Reliants despite their gnarly design. Now I am really considering saving up for one in game due to how fun you made it look. Well done!

I also have some much more expensive ships to fly, but love taking the Tana out to do my run around stuff. Gives off the b wing vibes and it's good at doing bunker missions, especially with the new addition of being able to bring a 1 scu box with you for loot

Love it when oddball uncommon ships are talked about. I purchased a Gladiator as my 1st ship, and used the ever living hell out of it and loved it. Unfortunately sold it to upgrade to a Cutty Black and then purchased a prospie as well so I can pair the 2, but fully intend on getting my Gladiator back. 07 welcome to the verse!

The Tana kinda reminds me of those fighters at the start of 1998s Lost in Space. Big bubble canopy with rotating outer wings. Always thought that was a cool design as a kid.

That ship shown in the intro reminds me heavily of the one ventris used in the 2003 star wars animation.

I would like to see if cig would make a "warm bounty " variant for this ship........ie........that 1scu of cargo into a prisoner transport.

Been rotating between a Kore and a Banu Defender as my daily drivers for about a month now. Both are very underrated

Just make sure you don't store the ship. It sometimes spawns on the pad with the wings deployed and you can't get into it. That's why you get a Nomad at the moment as a loaner ship. I love this ship. Its the closest thing we get to flying a B-wing in this game.

@@LevelCapGaming As of today, all the Reliant variants are still on the bug report. We'll know if it's fixed if pledges of these no longer have access to the Nomad. From my experience, it happens when it was the last ship you stored then the server 30ks. What I do to store it is I just fly next to the pad and EVA or if I'm planetside land, then let the AI store it instead of going to the Terminal and manually storing it by just leaving it on the pad. Currently, the only fix is a character reset.

@@orangeoffline The thing is U5 looks very pretty, but the second your map starts to grow or you want to include heavy backend systems, U5 will tank. The starengine has had it's fair share of problems, but right now it's one of the best engines a game could have, and they are still building and improving/reworking outdated parts of the engine. CIG has stated that they have written about 70% of the starengine code. The rest are leftovers from the Cryengine.

Wow... I've played for years and never realized this about the Reliant

This ship reminds me of asajj ventress’s ship from Star Wars the clone wars and how it could change from horizontal to vertical

The first starter ship I bought was the Reliant Sen. Still one of my top 5 favorite ships. Just fun to fly. Absolutely useless in a fight, but fun to fly. Can't wait for science gameplay

I did the exact same thing back in 3.9! I grinder non stop to get a Reliant, because I am actually poor. The reliant is an absolute gem, I just wish it had a foldout bed.

My first ship was the Reliant Tana as well! Love the ship even thou it is kinda bugged with missiles...

I love the tana, it's a great ship despite it's issues. As soon as I got into the game I just knew I had to have one. These days I've moved onto the banu defender though, not as much firepower, and way less missiles, but it offers that great versatility in a small ship while also being able to keep up in PVP dogfighting against meta fighters.

I wish the main back section of the reliant was a bit larger and extended down a little similar to those Jedi ships from Star Wars so it doesn’t look completely flat while landed and also that weird opening in the wings when it is flying would be filled

An easy fix for the bed logging issue would be to enable the ship transformation at will as an extra option. being able to toggle between manual and automatic too, for take off and landing. i like the idea of a fighter getting so used to this vehicle that they start implementing random transformations mid-combat as part of their strategy.

One of if not my fave ship in the game. Can’t believe this isn’t a starter option? There must be a reason CIG won’t launch this as a starter package but I can’t think what? Also cant believe they haven’t fixed the bed log situation!? I mean come on, just a switch in the cabin to rotate the ship will do it, surely??

Bed logging works fine for me... rarely have I ever had any issues. I mostly live and work out of my Constellation.

Man, this game is just so gorgeous!

All the Reliants need is for the engines to pivot during flight to increase its maneuverability just a little more. Also the copilot can use missiles and lock them with the turrets giving it a 360° missile lock and fire ability.

Hey Cap, Check out the 325a and its customizable features. You can pick ship color, interior materials and color, utilities, etc. Also is a great fighter, can get more DPS than a Glad with the right parts. Also has a bed, kitchen, lower cargo ramp and toilet making it a great solo vehicle. Probably my favorite ship in the game as crazy as that sounds. It just feels and flys so good.

You're so right. Looking at erkul.games, the Reliant Tana is insane value. I would swap the gimbles for Reliant Toshima Turrets and take a twin-linked 10 series greatsword on each. Leave the S1 lasers as is. Swap the MSD-322s for MSD-341s for 8 'ARROW' I missiles. Leave the 16 STRIKEFORCE II missiles as is. Crazy powerful. Compare that to my beloved Avenger Titan with one LIGHTSTRIKE III, 2 x 10 series greatswords and 4 STRIKEFORCE II missiles. This will probably be my first in game purchase too.

Love the Tana - i had the Kore to start since i felt it had more utility with its cargo, but ive come around and seen that the Tana is just superior for its flexibility. Atmospheric flight isnt all that good imo though and coming back to the game with 3.17 and the slightly better Ai shooting skills (desync-wise) and the Ai's stupid love for jousting certainly made the VLRT/LRT's a bit more bothersome than they would have been in another craft. The Restock bug where the stations dont rearm your missiles but still take your cash was somethign i came across a lot too and as such i've currently left the Tana in favour of trying some other stuff. But, were i to be starting the game with what i know, i'd still pick the Tana over the other starters simply because of what its capable of.

Enemy ships having an automated gun turret will give dog fighters a diffcult time since approaching from the enemy's six position or anywhere but foward can results in being fired on and hit.

I have been using it for 2 weeks now, I can also afford most ships in the game at this point and I still use the Tana

I really hope that Bethesda's upcoming STARFIELD game will be similar to this but with a well-designed story containing linear RPG missions and quests. This is a beautiful game.

I think it will be very different, with much simpler ships and spaceflight, like NMS. And landing on planets will be done with a cinematic on a closed landing zone, like the original Star Citizen idea. I hope I'm wrong, but it seems that way.

sc is setting the new gold standard for space sims. many will try to make a similar game but they will fail.. look at elite dangerous for example, they tried, struggle massively and are about to fail. just wait for Squadron42, sc´s single player prequel, kinda the playable backstory of your sc character.

@@LashlayDS9 - I think that the only thing lacking in STAR CITIZEN is the lack of a story. I get that it is more of a space simulator with world-building niche. However, I hope that STARFIELD will be like this but with a backstory that continues through an open world RPG world-building story.

​@@ccchhhrrriiisss100 i hope you are aware that SCs story is compiled in the single player prequel Squadron42. you play that to define a backstory for your online character. its kinda your military carreer before you become a freelancer in the PU. and they plan to make more parts of the single player experience for even more story. its just better to put stuff like that in single player enviroments then having to find a way to put story into a persistant multiplayer universe. and they have some big faces for the story, mark hamill for example, or the lady from x files.

Reliant series is kinda underrated, you can do a lot of content in them.

Bed logging has worked for me in 3.17

0:15 I thought it was just me the Ship altitude meter is broken for me as well lol

I had a Tana as my alt account's only ship (other than than the free referral MPUV) for a while and it's a really cool ship, but the issue with its profile kinda killed it for me. Ship bounties are my favorite part of the game and the Tana really struggled in atmospheric bounties when there were multiple enemies to deal with, especially against the more effective AIs in 3.17. I replaced it with a Gladius and was sad to lose the Tana's interior and awesome cockpit view but it's so much more effective in those fights against 4+ agile fighters at once.
