This is why I tell people to go to a stylist at least once during their journey 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. I know they are expensive, but well worth it for healthy hair. Most influencers, although some mean well, lack the knowledge that a stylist have to properly take care of hair. And the bad ones makes very unhealthy trends that cause damage (like not washing hair with soap). Im a chemist, and understand the science since I formulate skin and hair products and still go to a stylist because they just have that extra bit of knowledge through techniques that I'm miss. So glad you went Jenn!!!!!!!

Hey Jenn! I don't think I've ever commented on one of your videos, but I had to comment on this one. I loved this video! This was by far the best "curly cut" video I have seen thus far because you asked the right questions. It was so informative and I think it will be of value to a lot of people because it will help them to understand their hair and the purpose of certain products. The stylist was nice and answered your questions thoroughly, she showed you what she was doing and told you why she was doing it. It was like sitting in the chair with you. Thanks for always going the extra mile to be thorough and to bring as much knowledge to your viewers as possible. Great, great video!

Everything this stylist is saying I’ve been saying for the LONGEST!!! Of course there’s a few holes that I needed to be closed in my understanding, but for the most part I’m glad I’ve been listening to the right people. When you stop using oils and butter and switch up your wash routine of course you scalp and hair is gonna be like whoa, but GIVE IT TIME!!! It’s an adjustment that will be worth it.

So I learned a few things watching this video... 1. Our hair performs similarly in that it loses water as fast as it absorbs it, so I may be on a 3-5 day routine instead of 7 until it can get to a point of retaining more water (or forever if that never happens). LOL :-) 2. Even though I do style in smaller sections, I probably need to use even smaller sections. 3. Consistency is key. Thank you so much for sharing this video. I really like Paula and her way of explaining things to you... almost made me wish I lived in Ottawa. :-) I also appreciate you for asking the right questions. Your cut looks amazing! :-)

❤️This video is cool and interesting to see. I like the way she explained why not to use raw oils and butters, the different oils and also the protein topic. It's so important to know what's a sealant and what can penetrate the hair strands. And it's so great that a stylist finally says it's ok not to have shiny hair and we shouldn't focus on that!! 😍I've been doing my hair similar to the way she's caring for your hair. So I'm happy even though I'm not a stylist. 😊

The thoroughly discussion of raw oils and butter. The patience, care of handling your hair, recommendations and overall honesty. I like how she told the truth about oil for growing back your edges. The oils along is not the magic formula out here to grow back damaged edges. I know that I have been a sucker for that hype many of times and people still today is throwing their money away. As they say fooled me once shame on you, but twice shame on me.😭😭😭😭 Jenn, I love the whole ordeal.

Beautiful and healthy! Wash n goes done well also last days. Less time in terms of trying to “manage” hair. Setting under a dryer also does the trick !

Thank you so much for this video. I definitely watched all the way through. The knowledge that your stylist gave was super helpful. Now I know that the front of my hair is dehydrated compared to the back. Amazing video as always

Thank you so much for taking us along for your hair appointment. I have learned so much from your hair appointment. Your hair cut is 🔥. You keep popping up for those who have done the 30 day detox. I was curious to see other people’s experience. But I have been binge watching your videos. Now I am subscribed!!!!!

She is right, she is getting old, we all get older day by day Why are people afraid of using the correct term for aging? Getting older is a natural process. You determine your well-being, state of mind and fitness level while getting older.

@@nathaliethomas9719 old and older are two different terms, and in my opinion, two different states of mind; however, I do respect your viewpoint on the matter. Love and light☀️!

Chile no wonder a lot of us don’t like doing our hair even when we figure out a routine...seeing the elbow grease used by the stylist to shampoo the hair...two stylists working on Jen’s hair to set it into the style, whew it do be a lot😩 for one lil ol person to reach up their arms and work on their own hair. Stylist was ace 💯 and it looks great!

she did take her time to care for my hair but note that the second stylist was only there to observe/learn (not a usual thing in her salon).

I always question why we care so much about length as well. My stylist ask me the same thing about what I care about most. Like you Jenn, I do not fight my shrinkage, and leave my hair in its beautiful afro state. So my true length never shows anyway 🤷🏾‍♀️. When my ends need to be cut I just let her cut as much as it needs to be cut. It's never that much since I go to her every 2 to 3 months. Please trimming hair regularly and properly makes detangling a BREEEEEEZE 😎
