I fell out of tennis as I felt I got burnt out way too quick when I was in my juniors and going into private tournaments as a young adult. Tennis is an expensive sport and that can put a toll on you as well and we haven’t gotten to the mental part of tennis. lol. Thank you for allowing us to see your determination and strive throughout your tennis career and journey. It does motivate me to go back out and compete again. If you’re ever out in the Las Vegas area, hit me up 😎🤙.

    First great content and playing!!! From what what I've seen it appears your have the tools and fitness to beat these guys and that it's a mental shift. I would think a focus on getting free points from your serve, which is a great serve and sticking to your attacking style no matter what. Deciding ahead of time that your going to attack and come in with no hesitation. Sometimes when we have too many tools to choose from or past close matches over and over, it can cause too much thinking. So, i like the idea of sticking to playing your game no mater what unless, someone is doing your strategy better, and then other tools can be selected. Keep up the great work and be confident!!!!

    Great job Felix! Been great to see your improvement, keep it up! Two suggestions for you as an ex pro: 1. I would try to not spend as much time checking opponent's statistics and rankings. I understand it might be for KZread purposes but unless you have a full scouting report on your opponent I personally think it is not really beneficial, just puts an extra doubt in your mind. Every match regardless of the opponent you should have the "upper hand" mindset ("I have outworked this guy, I'm ready") 2. Focus on patterns vs. the outcome. Now, when you go play a match you got the tools in your box- the patterns you've worked on in practice. That will keep your strategy and your style of tennis very clear regardless of the match situation. Execution will get better as the match goes by and long term you'll be able to utilize your weapons way more!

    Great work and progress mate. One idea I have is if you add one extra layer of speed variety into your rallies e.g. slice more on BH, and have a slower deep FH shot which you can utilise early in rallies for instance to gain position before you get a ball to crush - benefits: (1) no speed for opponent to use (2) more time for you to choose next shot (3) massive change of pace when you crush the ball makes you unpredictable and throws opponent timing off

    I'd have a second think about drinking coffee before a game. Yes it can heighten your awareness and improve certain elements of your game, but I find it doesn't help with helping stay calm in pressure moments due to it's activation of the sympathetic nervous system, and therefore increasing your heart rate making you feel a little more anxious. Also coffee can make your shot selection a little poorer. When your heart rate increases circulation to your brain decreases, and judgement can become a little poorer. You are also more likely to fatigue sooner. If you really need the caffeine I'd recommend a green tea which doesn't give you quite as intense boost like coffee.

    Tough to play tiebrekers like the second one you played where the other guy just puts the responsibility of taking action on your side. What do you recomend there, what should you have done? Take the responsability and make things happen or outgrind the guy and bait him into some midcourt slices to see if he will try to do something with the ball?

  • @tomsd8656
    @tomsd86565 ай бұрын

    The level you need to be a top pro is insane. First, your technique on every shot needs to be good. That's a huge challenge in itself. Then you need to produce the shots, with good tehnique, on a consistent basis. Then you need to increase the pace bit not sacrificing consistency. Then you need to be quick enough to keep up with the pace. This is why the player ranked 1000 doesn't look much different from the one ranked 100 if you look at the practice session. But over the course of a professional match, the lower ranked one can't keep up and will unravel.

    I’ve always felt that player who has looser strings are able to control court a lot better. The second opponent had that easy power which I thought was from his looser strings but also allowed him to counter punch in extreme positions. His game was overall a lot looser and calmer than Felix’s. I feel like Felix has a relatively high string tension from the way the ball come out of his racquet and I know it all comes down to person preference, but he may benefit from a looser tension. Just my amateur opinion

    If you keep training and playing hard, I genuinely think you'll make it to Wimbledon or any of the other grand slams. I'm certainly not a professional tennis player but I really think you could benefit from a bit of variation in play style. Throw off your opponent, change up your play/strategy maybe 3 times during a match. You'll catch them off guard and they'll find it very hard to get into a rhythm. It's usually that rhythm that allows others to win. But congrats on a win nevertheless. Awesome vid!
