@@dreamthedream8929 LOL Australia is not exotic at all. It's pretty bland and boring and very expensive. Good place to make money and work, nice beaches and nature yes but since it's so damn expensive it's just work work work work work like most places.
I emigrated to Sydney from England in 1970 at the age of nineteen. Very different then. On my first full day, my cousin's husband took me around parts of Sydney and as we walked back to our car around 11 o clock in the morning (not far from Circular Quay) a guy staggered out of a pub and vomited all over the footpath (sidewalk). Charming!
When I discovered Gabe years ago he was walking through an Italian city where I was living and I was appalled at how he blithely missed so many highlights. But I came to I realize that his spur-of-the-moment, in-the-moment modus operandi is what makes him special. He is YT's very best wisiwyg tour guide -- what I see is what you get.

Just adding to road kill in Australia.
In my mind, Sydney is the best large city. It just has about everything. If you spend two weeks in Sydney and don't have a good time, then you must not know how to have fun. Go see Bondi Beach, Manly Beach, ride the ferries around the harbor, go see the Blue Mountains, see Taronga Zoo and also Feeatherdale Wildlife, ride the light rail all over the city (which is a beautiful city) and just hang out. I could spend a month there every year and never be bored.
My wife and I have been to Sydney 3 times from Idaho, USA. We love Sydney. I first discovered Sydney in 1997 when I visited New Zealand for the second time and then went to Sydney to see an old running buddy. I used to run lots of races, including marathons. Doing that I made friends a long time ago with a few Kiwis. One of them moved to Sydney, where I visited him in 1997. I fell in love with Sydney. When I married my wife in 2000, we honeymooned in Moorea. We have been to Australia three times and both love it.
Sydney is our favorite city over a million people. We love the sight seeing, beaches (Bondi and Manly) and the shopping. In Sydney, there is always something fun to do. We especially love the ferries and the light rail. You can get around Sydney so easily.
Spent 3 weeks in Sydney last October for work and a bit of pleasure. I really enjoyed myself. The trains are great (compared to America) and the food was amazing. The bird sounds are so cool. Looking forward to another visit, if I am so lucky.

Hi Gabe, good to see you in Australia. That bird you saw at the beginning of the video is a White Ibis also known as a Bin Chicken for its propensity to scavenge food from anywhere, especially out of public rubbish bins. The day before you arrived it was 40 degrees celsius and sunny which would have made it uncomfortable for walking around.
Love Australia, on my bucket list for sure
We also love the Gold Coast. You apparently allocated one day for the Gold Coast on this trip. That is not nearly enough. You need a minimum of a week on the Gold Coast. We usually go there for two weeks and also do two weeks in Sydney. We could easily spend a whole month in each place.
Also, check out the coastal road south of Sydney it’s BEAUTIFUL! The rainforests are amazing. The canyons in the blue mountains are amazing as well. Loved our trip to the Sydney area.

Sorry that you didn’t get blue skies and a sunny day, because Sydney Harbour is absolutely lovely and can be a diamond day afternoon, one never gets tired of Sydney Harbour. Thank you for showing the botanical gardens and some of the lesser known streets, with the Victorian terraces. I hope you have a good stay. Yes we have an unusual plug system. The National bird on our coat of arms is the EMU. The kookaburra is part of the kingfisher family, and it’s call sounds like it is laughing at you.
The white bird is an ibis but as it happily lives in urban areas and rummages garbage cans (bins) for food, it's known as a 'bin chicken'. I don't think a lot of people, especially children even know it's called an ibis as they screech 'bin chicken!' when they see one!
