😅💦 Glad you didn't go there. I was screaming in my mind "don't go there, don't go there!" I was surprised that you went that far in that hellhole. I'm sure it was your guardian angel sent by your father who came to stop you. And thanks, you too!

I was a underground coal miner for 45 years, retired last year. I never believed in ghost or goblins. That being said I was working one Sunday setting timbers about 2 miles from the portal where we cut into some old works that were mined in the 20s. I just got the timber sawed and turned around to set it when I felt someone behind me and heard the word damn. I was the only one in the mine at the time. I turned to see who it was, no one there but some slick bottom boot prints in the fresh rock dust and the smell of carbide. I changed my mind that day.

Quick question. What was your wage as a coal miner. Second did you receive a pension and is it adequate. I have never got a chance to ask that question of a 45 year miner. Thanks for the comment.

I had a very strange situation similar to yours. A few years back I was exploring an old mine in the Utah west desert that was at the time still unblocked. A buddy of mine has been exploring mines for many years and this was my third time out with him. I was pretty deep into a vertical shaft and he was above me waiting to come down behind me. I heard him, clear as day say, “it’s time to turn around”, and because he is far more experienced as I am, I didn’t hesitate, I turned around and climbed back. As I climbed out, I realized he was way ahead of me, almost out of the mine, standing almost to the entrance, just staring at me. He said “where did you go?” I said “I was down the shaft when you told me to come out”. I thought it was really strange he left me behind, and he looked very confused, and said “I heard you call out to me…” and he pointed to the entrance of the mine. He said he heard me calling to him from outside the mine, and he went looking for me and couldn’t find me by my Jeep, so after a few minutes he went back in and heard me walking to towards him. We left the mine and just sat there very confused. He heard my from outside the mine, I heard his voice inside the mine… our voices were telling each other it was time to leave. We argued about it for a minute and decided to drive home. We argued this over the next few times we were together, jokingly blaming each other for wanting to leave early and wasting our day. We decided to go back, and this time we brought another friend to the mine, and the entrance had completely collapsed. Something tells me that it was something or someone looking out for us.

Right out of high school I went to work at a small underground mine in southern Arizona. The owner had assigned me to work by myself in the main haulage straightening track with a Jim Crow, while I was bent over reattaching the tool to the track I felt a tight squeeze and pushing motion on my shoulder. ( it's pretty common when your working in tight places with a lot of noise and tools to touch the person you passing behind to let them know you are behind them) anyway I assumed it was my boss. I stood up and no one was there. I walked further down the haulage to the powder mag and no one was there, checked the shaft station and walked out to the Portal. As I walked out of the Portal my boss came walking out of the day room. He was like are you OK. And I told him what happened. He took it in stride and said I'm not surprised, several miners were killed when they dug into a unexploded round back when the mine was originally opened in the late 1800's. He said they were probably letting you know they were still there. That was 40 years ago and I still don't know what to think about it.

I do not mean to take away the mistery and I am happy to believe you in full, yes, but I am a full-time construction worker and often have those similar 'twitches' or the feeling of being prodded by a stick or a finger around my shoulders, arms, back whilst lifting and getting on and off scaffolds/ladders, crawling under floors in wet sand etc. I think I know exactly how you must have felt, but it's just the muscles spasming with quick on and of tension, just as a result of a shock to your muscular system by the work you are doing. @@Dutch_bastard_23 staying rational won't explain what made that noise when it wasn't him. One day in sure you'll run across something that you can't explain by conventional means. I've messed around with enough things that you shouldn't mess with to know that the material world is a very very small portion of our existence. It's just a very persistent illusion that has a sturdy grip on your mind.

I do construction and have no idea how many houses I've framed in the 30 or so years. I can't imagine framing in these shafts, totally blows my mind and they did stuff like this 100 years ago. Respects!

It's pretty amazing. The thing is as they were dropping the we're adding the collars. So it was relatively close to them. Still heavy wood in a remote location with only hand tools.

Just to add some context to this comment; the Great Pyramids were built 2600 BC (roughly 4,500 years ago). I’d highly recommend you visit them in person because it will single handedly change the way you perceive ancient human intelligence.

I think it was a warning, Gly. Something was telling you "get out of here, this place isn't safe!" Nobody is more superstitious than a hard rock miner, and maybe there's a reason for that. Strange things happen in the deep places in the Earth.

First thing this morning, get up, second thing watch the Snozzleator 5000 in action after its hiatus. Glad you guys are back to exploring.

Gly, you definitely made the right move by getting out and re-grouping. It is WAY too early for an "In Memoriam" episode! Stay safe buddy....

I just can't figure out why I'm fascinated by these vids. as I have raging claustrophobia. It's not so much a terror of being in a tiny space as the idea that you can't get out the absolute second you want to, and here you sure can't !

Gly That was a really brilliant episode this week mate, and I do believe that we all have our Guardian Angels watching over us. And that last segment you added was really touching 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🙏

Makes me wonder; absent a supernatural explanation - but that weight, that sensation of pressure, being something deep in your brain that recognized that situation wasn't right. Something subconscious in your brain recognized something, maybe a sound, maybe a vibration, maybe a crack in overhanging material, and that push was how it manifested "get the hell out of here, this place is going to kill you" Edit: I'm reminded of the anecdote of the time someone investigated the 'haunted' nature of Warwick Laboratory - reports of inexplicable fear, anxiety, a prickling of the neck, even a report of a grey blob that disappeared when looked at directly. He eventually found the culprit: infrasound. The lab extractor fan was resonating at just about 18.9hz, just below human hearing and about the resonant frequency of the human eyeball. Shutting off the extractor and the anxiety and fear just... stopped. Consciously, they didn't notice the sound resonating through the lab, but the rest of their body did. Earthquakes (or say, shifting rock...) can also produce infrasound 🤔

I think Gly was already expecting further collapse and it was making him nervous. And then when he felt something vaguely in that direction, he immediately reacted. Even before the event Gly noted that he had his adrenaline up. This kind of reaction was good and helpful in this situation. But i must wonder if it can also lead to tunnel vision, that is ignoring other things that are also dangerous.

You need to get an "RC Bob", a little RC rock crawler with a GoPro mount and a retrieval line tied on it to send into those collapsed areas.

@@grimpath I don’t think a wheeled vehicle would work all that well. The terrain is too extreme in a lot of cases. they have tracked archaeological RC drones now with treads that can articulate, rotate, and reshape as is appropriate for terrain. Started with the need for something to get into tiny passages in the Giza pyramids where a human couldn’t fit. Now they use them for that, as well as military purposes such as reconnaissance, bomb disposal, remote weapons delivery etc. DARPA actually just had a huge contest for people to build new and improved unmanned vehicles for much the same purposes, with a focus on subterranean exploration. There were some really interesting entries, some fairly traditional and some very creative, like a snake-bot that could climb ropes and such. Really cool.

I think it was your guardian angel saying "not this time bud! You've given me enough scares!" Lol, in all seriousness be very careful bud. It's good see you, Mr. M, and Randy back at mine exploration again! Have a great weekend and all of you take care.

Well … I can also attest to having guardian angels / spirits around and though the paranormal interests me , I will go the extra distance to debunk things but . I remember many instances of “ Divine Intervention “ that prevented my demise . Once out in the bush / mountains exploring I was tripped by something and landed flat on my face ( it was dusk and had a flashlight ) . Had I not been tripped I would have fallen off the side of an easy 600 foot drop . But ! There was nothing there , no roots , rocks or branches and my boots were still tied up tightly. I am grateful for my guardians and happy you are all safe as well. God Bless

Gly, my dad and I were close and unfortunately he passed away in 1999 at 64 y/o. I often times feel his presence which I am always thankful for. This was an awesome explore even with all the collapsed areas that kept you from going further. The fact you didn't die is the best part of this video.

I would go with the "dad grabbing me by the belt" scenario. For me at least it makes the most sense, although I would see it not as a physical event but rather as your brain "replaying" those same sensations to you as a warning that you would be sure to recognize.

This video is exactly the reason to never go into an abandoned mine, for every danger you can think of. And also, the outbuildings and other structures around an old mine can be just as dangerous. Old rotted wooden buildings can be a death trap too, or stepping on a rusty nail can be a tetanus shot. And critters can get you too. Even a modern operational mine is extremely dangerous. Stay out, stay alive.

Glad your alright, especially after a lifetime of this kinda thing... Whatever may be in that hole or any hole for that matter, just isn't as important as your own life. And as far as the imagery, memory and concept of your dad pulling you once again to safety somehow when you needed it... thats just really special regardless. =)

Gly I am so glad I stayed to the end of the video. Brought a tear to my eye. You can really see the appreciation in your eyes for what your mom has done with talk and pray. I never believed in the oogie boogie stuff either until a very significant event happened to me while urban exploring in a old abandoned victorian mansion that had at one time been a slave plantation out in the middle of nowhere, I won't get into the story, just to say, I don't believe a lot of the TV and KZread hype ghostly events and hunts, but I can tell you my experience leads me to believe there can be a paranormal event that can change ones mind..If it wasn't Dad it could it have been a old time miner trying to grab your pants waist or get ahold of your back pockets to pull you out, seems something of a natural reaction even the ghost of a old miner would react to if they perceived you were in danger. oh and welcome back!!

I love how you have full on episodes. Some people might not like that because they don't have the patience but let me say it's so much better than the 15 minute exploration videos.

Yes, going down these mines is always risky and we all want you to keep doing it but we'd rather have a live Gly than one who took one risk too many! Playing it safe is ALWAYS the best option.

Unfortunately we (Mr M and I) not only have a very sick family member who is currently out of state that we were visiting, we also took a little needed vacation. Can’t promise he won’t have to step back again as our family member is going on hospice and the future is very uncertain. Gly, I worked in a building that was constructed in 1927 for 38 years and have had my share of unexplained occurrences. For me I usually do the same thing you did, I knew exactly what I was hearing until I realized it couldn’t have been what I thought. Honestly, I think it was your dad stopping you and you should just move on and not try do disprove what happened. If you are ever in the San Gabriel Valley area I would love to give you a tour of the building, It is an historical site with a major connection to early California and the Missions. Every time people talk about "unexplained" cave phenomena I think about the Whispering you get in wet caves. I tried to research exactly why it happens but nobodies studied it in detail, just vagueness about "our brains recognise water swirling as human voices" it always freaks me out because I expect to meet other people and theres never anybody there... I suppose it's like seeing faces in rocks, trees, etc, but the audio equivalent. Freaky

That was still a cool old mine to explore , I'm just happy to see you and the crew having fun !! That said that mine was pretty dangerous anyway , yeah it would of been cool if it went further but it was still cool as all get out to see ya know... Live another day to explore !!

Glad you're safe, Gly, In my days in the uranium mines I was always pushing my limits to the point where it was dangerous on a daily basis. I eventually had to get out of mining completely, and I was in it for 16 years. Don't feel bad for backing out, you went further than I would have ever gone in that caved area. And yes, I've heard the Tommy Knockers before. I believe they're real, and they scare the crap out of you.

@@emmahealy4863 hey im like super late with this but 39:53 is where they talk about them!! basically just an old legend about small playful gnomes that live in abandoned mines or caves that steal your tools etc but can get serious when you’re in a dangerous area. i read up a little more about them and people say if you hear them, that’s a sign you need to get out of the area you’re in, but if you see one you’re already dead :,,) ive never heard of them before this so it was interesting to learn about legends of them!!

You did not disappoint, I mean the beauty of this mine is just enthralling, those yellow veins, even though they screwed you up

There are many layers of reality that are not normally perceived by mankind. Ghostly experiences are merely one example of this.

That one is Familiar to me! The 80's me with my Marine buddy's the collar collapsed while we were going back up!!!; ) about six or seven of us Dangler's all we managed to get out alive! The floor wasn't that bad then we were coming back from the sump area pass the first drift your on!! Those other collapsed drift weren't collapsed then!!

My mom just got diagnosed with 3rd stage ovarian cancer and it’s been scaring the shit out of me lately, especially as she’s just started chemo, and that reminded me quite insistently to make sure to give her a call today. So thanks man. I don’t care what anybody says, it takes a big man indeed to say something like that and put it out into public awareness. Hopefully it will remind many other sons to appreciate their mothers even more when they see this, as it did for me.

Sounds like an exhale as you can hear the pitch change and it's timed when he would breathe out

After he says "we're gonna take this nice and slow" ,its a clear exhale and its a different pitch and volume than him . Weird,similar one at 21.53 though that could be him

Yes when I heard that I had to rewind to see if I was hearing something outside the house or in the show. Deffo sounded like a wile animal-a large cat.

some years back i was exploring a abandoned car home ,supposed to be haunted but i keep a open mind on such things .anyway it was a hot day and as i walked down 1 of the corridors i walked in to a intense cold spot ,literary like walking in to a freezer ,a few minutes later as i walked back it was gone back to the normal temp , very odd

Great episode Gly, Mr M and Randy. A great reminder to everyone to trust your guy instinct. I'm not a big believer in the supernatural, yet I've been to remote locations, some not that remote as well, in Australia and have had experiences that I can't explain. Stay safe guys, love your work.

It is amazing how little is left above ground in this area… it almost down to shafts and tailing piles. Would be so cool if you had a miniature drone or telescoping pole and camera that would let you look past the collapses. Humans… never satisfied.. always wanting to see what is on the other side. 🙂

I am catching up on unwatched vids (thanks life…). This is one of the best vids you have ever filmed. I love the commentary and the fact you chose to not go any further in this mine. Probably the adrenaline messing with your head - the mind is a complicated beast that can manifest all sorts of weirdness, but whatever the reason, if you don't feel safe you shouldn't do it and no rational person would expect you to - if anything I think sometimes you take too much risk for the videos. Glad you're back and feeling better.

Good video. I have felt the touch of ice cold hands when no one was there and heard the unexplainable roar of something that did not exist in this realm.

So, I have a lot of lower back problems and I think I experienced something very similar. Years ago I was getting into a hay ride wagon and bent over slightly when I had a tremendous pain in my lower back and it dropped me to me knees and took my breathe away. It literally felt like a cinder block was dropped on my back. But after like 5 or 10 seconds the pain was completely gone and like it had never happened. When you described what your experienced it broke back my memory. Just a thought.

I was thinking the same thing, speaking from experience.

I used to live in a haunted house (the "ghost" wasn't a human, more like some kind of wood spirit). I'm likewise of the wholly scientific and skeptic bent, but... I have a number of stories about it, but wasn't really convinced until a client drove up and first thing she said when she got out of her car was "Did you know you've got a ghost in your house?" (Cuz once you get attuned to 'em, you can spot 'em instantly.) -- There are _things_ out there we don't understand, not supernatural-ghosts, but not quite what we expect in our universe, and when we encounter 'em... well, this is what we experience. The house ghost wasn't malicious, but there was something in the yard that was -- a "nasty" that lived in a tree in the back yard. Here I am out in the deep desert and visitors would NOT stand under that tree, even tho they had no idea why. They'd go under the tree, then pretty soon they'd look over their shoulder and get uncomfortable, and move out into the 115 degree desert sun, and roast instead of standing in the convenient shade. Next place I lived had a "hollerer". It had all kinds of fun with the concrete crew... they'd hear the foreman yelling and run to obey, but nope, wasn't him, it was the hollerer. My maintenance guy and I already knew about it so we'd "hear" it and see the other guys running and we'd just crack up. It had a lot of fun with my tenant too, until she figured it out. Now I live where there aren't any of these _things_ and it's kinda lonely. :)

@@williamevans6522 Probably not... tree was younger than the house. Guy who built it used scrap wood left over from building his feedlot, so it was odd.

That's so interesting. I'm fascinated by people who just accept that ghosts exist and can identify them (I'm too sciencey myself, not even religious) could you tell us more about how you knew there was a wood spirit, or a "nasty"? I like the idea of cohabiting with a non-religious spirit

@@emmahealy4863 I'm not sure. The nearest physical sensation is when you touch metal that isn't properly grounded, but isn't "hot" either.... it just sort of buzzes subliminally. Kinda like that, only much fainter. So I think what humans sense is actually electrical charge, about on part with what's in our own nervous systems. Remember when you were a kid and would sometimes insist someone was touching you, but they actually were several inches away? (two kids in the back seat of a narrow car :)

First off I am super glad you are doing and feeling better!!! Next when I watched you go in to the collapse I had to hide my eyes.... then heard you utter words you usually don't...I peeked and was like 👀 oh no what I heard and lack of what I saw along with the testimony of yourself.... got me knowing you were saved by an unknown force! Sooooo thankful that you are safe and very much alive!

Best ending monolog EVER!!! We should all be so grateful to our parents!

I do believe there are things that aren't explainable. Could be paranormal or not I don't know but, I've had experiences I can't explain what I had just seen. I do believe in guardian angles and I believe in this case there was someone or something telling you not to go further at that time. Another day with different equipment but not today. You listened and got back out safe and sound, though a little shaken. Glad you are safe and thanks for taking us along.

Like the apparition we saw disappear at the wall in the other mine Episode 85, this one could be a warning. I have seen balls of lights floating in the sky and they have warned me of a near future problem. The problem did occur later on and I avoided it. Last time for this mine!!! Mr. Patrick said below that he had seen things but had no pictures; I do have pictures of the balls of lights. I also have, "angel hair" strange matter that emanates from the balls of lights. Gly, stay safe; that is ALWAYS the number one priority.

@@mrsm513 I have that impression of Brent also, way too into himself. There are nonstop volunteers doing everything up there but he continues the poor lonely guy routine. How often have you seen other people’s faces on his videos?

It's a very strange feeling buddy someone is watching over you, I've seen and heard many strange things underground sometimes It's unnerving it certainly unsettled you buddy, I once was working on a long hole rig drilling a raise it was one Saturday morning not long after a buddy had been killed in the same mine just down the heading from where we were working, me and my no2 look down the drive where we saw a light coming towards us we watched it for a good couple of minutes and when it got to the area where Charlie had died it stopped then just totally disappeared in front of our eyes, we both saw it because we thought it was our shift boss coming to see us,we questioned him about what's he'd forgotten and no one else was in the part of the mine we were it strange and a little unsettling.

You are a brave man Gly, thanks for listening to your sixth sense so that we can continue to watch more episodes in the future.

Good to see that common sense (possibly aided by the possibility of something out of the normal ) availed you in this situation......Glad to see you all back together and prefer that all of you remain vigilant in future adventures.........loved this one.......
