This song literally made Exo the million seller, the daesang king, the trend setter. This song made history in K-pop world. One of the most iconic song in K-pop. This song is a one shot MV. The vocals and style is on point. Even though I don't listen to this song much . But still I have immense respect to this song cz it made Exo super popular and I got to know about them . I will suggest you to go for their MV first plzzzzz... In order overdose , call me baby , love me right ,monster lucky one, Kokobop, power, tempo, love shot, obsession. This are some of their MV. You can exclude those you already did. But I will suggest you to go for their tittle songs before going to their B-side song dance practice. Or check their live performance first. This one shot video was so perfect but for only one thing, this had a ghost news before, fans noticed it but EXO Baekhyun mentioned that it was one of their light operator. It was basically THE song back in 2013, it made another building for SM. Probably the last time EXO had proper promotions as a whole. They preformed this song at the 2018 Olympics in S.Korea.

The performance version of EXO's "Growl" is a one take video, which means that it was shot all in one take without any cuts or edits. However, although it is a one take video, this does not mean they used the very first take, it just means that every time anyone made a mistake they had to start all over again from the very beginning. While filming the one take MV they had to dance the choreography about 7 times and this was the take the director and producer decided to use. They actually danced this choreography until they physically could not do it anymore. But, if you notice, not even this take were technically "perfect" because Kai drops the hat in the middle of the dance in the Korean version and he smoothly bends down and picks it up. He needed the hat at the end. But because it was done so effortlessly that most people don't even notice the mistake, or assume it's just part of the choreography, they decided to use this footage anyway. And if you watch the Mandarin version, if you look closely you will see Sehun steps on Suho's foot. :D. In the beginning of the performance MV you start out by seeing 6 of the members and as the camera spins around you see the other 6 members -- There are 6 members that make up EXO-K and 6 members that make up EXO-M and when they come together they are 12 that make up one group as EXO. in the Korean version, you see the EXO-K (Korean) members featured first in the two groups. and if you watch the EXO-M (Mandarin Chinese) version, you will see the EXO-M members featured more prominently. For every member in EXO-K there is a member in EXO-M that fills the same role. Each member in EXO-K has a counterpart in EXO-M. For example, D.O. is the main vocalist in EXO-K and Chen is the main vocalist in EXO-M; Baekhyun is the second main vocalist in K and Luhan was the second main vocalist in M; Chanyeol is the main rapper in K and Kris was the main rapper in M; Sehun is the lead rapper in K and Xiumin is the lead rapper in M; Kai is the main dancer in K and Lay is the main dancer in M; and then it's Suho is a lead vocalist in K and Tao was a rapper/vocalist in M (I'm not sure how these two really work together because Tao is more of a rapper and Suho is a vocalist, but because they are the last two they are put together.) That's why it's worth watching both versions, because, as you will discover, there is far more than just the languages that are different. ;D However, what is even more impressive about all of this, is the fact that they filmed 4 versions of the "Growl" MV, so not only did they have to perfect the dance in the Korean performance version, but they also had to do it again in the Mandarin version and then again in both the 2nd MV versions. And it wasn't like they could use the same footage because the Korean and Mandarin versions aren't exactly the same -- the EXO-M and EXO-K members had different parts in each of the MVs -- so that just adds another element to this. EXO actually filmed 5 different MVs for the song "Growl." As you saw, they have a Korean performance version, but they also have an EXO-M Mandarin Chinese performance version, and an EXO-K 2nd version and an EXO-M 2nd version, but there is still one more video that was released as part of their "Wolf" and "Growl" promotions. It's a drama version that combines their two songs "Growl" and "Wolf" and it's like a mini K-drama that is more like a movie or TV show with a complete story and the members playing characters. EXO got so good at this choreography that they were able to perform the whole thing live on award shows and music programs just like they did in the MV. But when the one take video for "Growl" was released, everyone began to take notice. This video was pretty groundbreaking, no group had done a one take video quite like this and it proved to the mainstream audiences that SM really did know what they were doing. Now everyone in Korea and around the world knows EXO and they have become one of the most popular groups that are one of the biggest money-makers for SM. "Growl" has become what they are most known for. EXO even performed this song at the closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics in 2018.

Thank you for your comment, I always love reading these comments with lots of CONTENT 👀 First off; I'm planning on getting to know them on a personal level soon, but when I got into BTS I ended up kinda regretting going into guides too quick, because they spoiled a lot of MVs for me 🙈 I'm actually planning to start getting to know the members indivudally after two more reactions (the eve next week and one more MV, not sure which yet 🤔) Also I'm already excited to go on a new journey and find my exo-bias 👀 I feel like I'm gravitating towards that Chanyeol-guy, just from his voice (I hope I remember the name right? people in the comments say I point him out a lot) 🤔 But then again with Blackpink it took me almost two years to be able to say I have a verrry slight preference between the girls, because I love them all so much! 🙈 With BTS it took me like a month to settle on Suga, just to be bias-wrecked about a month later and it's been Jungkook ever since, with honorary mention of Suga being my og-bias 😅 But yeah, it could take quite a while for me to settle on a bias, but I'm already excited to get to know them! ✨

The first face you recognized is D.O., the quietest yet most adorable member at times. He has won acting awards and has been in top films and dramas. Was the main guy in 1000 Days my Prince, has played a serial killer (and is terrifying because his cute face can make the creepiest expressions) and is currently in the military. Hes also the shortest at 5'8 arguably 5'7 by pictures (I'm taller than him ;^;)

However, critics and antifans claimed they were just a bunch of good looking boys without real vocal talents. Back in those days, vocals are the most focal point in KPOP and Big Bang was the frontrunner in that arena. @@Landyra no he wasn't in any of the video you reacted. He was from exo-m (but left in october 2014) and you reacted to the korean version of Mama so you couldn't hear him. He was only in the korean version of wolf and growl, if you want to hear more of him you would need to watch chinese version. It would actually be interesting for you to react to both version because they give different vibe. Try to watch kr & ch version of "what is love" or kr & ch version of "miracle in december" (both are slow songs featuring vocals line) or kr&ch version of "overdose" (upbeat song). But don't try to listen to any chinese version after oct 2014 because most of their chinese members already left so the chinese version wasn't as good 😅 Hope it will help you 😊 I'm really enjoying your reaction, keep the good work 💪

I enjoyed your reaction I like you notice Luhan voice he was one of the main vocalist, you also notice D.O. another main vocalist he voice is such great and also Chanyeol. Growl was a boom at the time it was realised and also reminds the happier times exo because they were all together.
