I'M BACK IN IRAN - My favorite country in the world!! This video takes you on a journey through my first 24 hours in the country. I met up with my local friend, Amin (who’s also a fantastic tour guide), and we explored the North-Western city of Tabriz. We went to the world's LARGEST-covered bazaar, ate the most delicious street food and visited an ancient village where people are still living in underground caves. IRAN IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS, and I can't wait to share with you the next 5 episodes in this series!

Thank you infinitely for your video Drew! I went around the country in 2016, probably the most impressive and memorable trip of my life. People were extremely welcoming, the youth very well educated, and I witnessed the famous "taarof", this unique politeness tied to the pride of Persians and their ancient civilisation. One sad realisation is the hugely wasted potential of this country and its people, given the current regime and situation on the international stage (and media).

I am a foreign student in Istanbul and I went to Iran two months ago with some of my friends, visiting Teheran, Esfahan, Shiraz and the little island of Ormuz in the south. We spent there two weeks, it has been the best traveling experience for me. Lots of culture, good food, welcoming people... Incredible how western countries hold a stigma on Iran for many years and cannot get over with it. Edit: stop commenting about the government and terrorism and such things. You didn't get the point. Talking about the people.

Dre pls never forget that to visit the north of Iran which has similar landscape to the caucasus countries!
I, too, have been to Iran. Never knew we could go until we saw Anthony Bourdain's reporting there. My wife and I looked at each other and said "Let's go!" And we went. Amin was our guide too. None of our friends or relatives wanted to go, they were too afraid, so we went ourselves. So it turned out to be my wife and me and Amin and our driver, Cyrus (the Great!). We were all over the place: Tehran, Shiraz (a favorite of ours), Isfahan, and Qom. The country was beautiful and the people were amazing! Some of the friendliest people we have come across in all our travels. It ranks in our top 5 out of almost 60 countries we have visited. And to top it off, we were in out late 60s. We never had a fear and met some great people. In fact, I stay in contact with Amin and a couple of young Iranian guys we met on the way. We would go again!

@@MichiganUSASingaporeSEAsia Lots and LOTS of people typically associate the people of a govt. with the overall people and mood of one's country. Examples include Israel, Russia, Iran, Sudan, etc. All of those countries governments are either insanely crooked or heavily criticized; But, the people of those said countries, depending on where you are, are all people and they all deserve to be loved and respected in all ways!

Hello, Iranian viewer here, i'm very glad you visited Tabriz, it's my hometown! And I'm much happier that you've had such a pleasant time in there, I hope the rest of your trip will be just as great and safe travels.
I am amazed by Iran. It is such a beautiful country. Very clean and infrastructure is up to the mark. And Kandovan what a hidden gem didn't knew about it before. What a nice home that was . .

as a iranian living in us i thank you for showing the real culture and people of iran❤❤
My girlfriend is Persian and I've been going through many videos to learn more about her home. I really appreciate videos like this because, as we surely all know, this country gets a bad reputation due to the typical media coverage in western countries(at least here in Canada) and it's a shame. The people, culture and architecture are beautiful, the food is absolutely delicious, and I hope to visit there one day myself. Thanks for sharing your experience!

--- The huge Left-Centrist Western News-Media that continually rages about LGBTQ rights in Western Nations, does NOT like to tell how Iran publically persecutes and sometimes publically executes LGBTQ people in the streets of Iran to little or no public opposition.......... homosexuality is considered a sin in Islam, and it says so in the Quran........ much to the chagrin of Western Left-Centrist LGBTQ and pro-Islam activists.........

Russia is exactly what you see on news, they're no one's bestie or friend tbh, they're always looking for a way to manipulate every country around them, they're not even their own race and people's friend, look what they did to ukraine, they're also manipulating iran and making us persians more poor.
Welcome back. Thanks for coming back, we always enjoy your content and your contribution to shine light on the wrong news on the media about normal people in Iran is really appreciated. ❤🙏

My parents lived in Iran before the regime change in the 1970s. I have a beautiful silk rug that my parents bought at a market in the 70s, and a few others that I have purchased from traders at home subsequently. Persian food is defo amongst my favourite cuisines. As a woman, I wouldn't travel there, but I love many aspects of Iranian art, design, food and culture.
What an incredible country Iran is! Thankfully there is a video of you in there! As an anthropologist I've dreamt about going there for a long time. Greetings from Mexico.

even watching the hospitality and genuine care offered by dear Iranians is just heart warming. I wish to visit one day to feel such kindness myself. Love from India.

I'm sitting in the metro, sobbing after only one minute into the video. I've been to Iran multiple times, I spent there all together over 1,5 years, I speak Farsi and I am just so in love with this country and its people and culture. Me and my husband, he is Iranian, miss it every day. Last time we've been there one month ago, visiting the family and having a Roadtrip. Every day I'm not there my heart is aching. Thank you for giving Iranians a platform to show how they really are. Highly appreciated
