Nikon fanboy here too. I can't stop collecting these cameras, I couldn't afford when they were new. I love my F3 and have in all 5 digital and 7 analog Nikons. The latest (D700) still to arrive with DHL. I had a D750 but sold it some months after getting the Z6. It is as if my love for film cameras is spreading to older digital cameras

I use to shoot film and recently bought a D300 for $200. I really wanted one when it came out but couldn’t afford it. It feels like a steal - it was an $1800 camera body brand new. It still takes beautiful photos. Love the jpgs straight out of the camera.

The D700 shares the same generation cmos sensor than the D300, so why does it take magical film-like photos ? I can achieve really nice results from my D300 races but the jpegs are awful no matter the custom profile used, the ccd cameras like the Nikon D200 and D60 output some nice jpegs

@@fthprodphoto-video5357 The d700 and d3 have the same sensors. And the difference is in the A/D converters and software that comes after the sensor capture. The d200 has a different sensor.

I think we very much have the same taste in cameras. I shot an F3 for years, then sold it and am looking for another one. At the moment I'm shooting film with an F2 whose meter is shot. I love how tough it is, but I like the feel of the F2 better. I've owned the D7000, the D7100, and the D7200 and the only real difference I see in my photography is that for action, the D7100's buffer fills rather quickly. My hands-down favorite Nikon is my D700. I love it, and am thinking of trying a D3 or D3s since they are getting to be so cheap. I've been curious about the D800 series, but don't really shoot anything any more that requires 36mp, and I'm worried about it outpacing both my computer and my lenses.

Hi, nice and spontaneous video. I just discovered your channel and watched a lot of your other video's; my technical comment, if I may; please improve audio by a LOT... In a way audio is at least or even more important than video; I could watch a bad video with good audio but not the other way around. Great and similar choice/taste of camera's as my collection 🙂 The D3s has such an intuitive and easy button layout; I love this heavy beast. And every time I use the F3 I'm amazed by the silky smooth operation and ease of basics to get the picture. Thanks for your nice channel & video's!

Very entertaining man. I did love my Nikons back in the film days but their D1x was hard work. Canon crushed it when they brought out the full frame 1Ds with a great buffer (my first digital camera for shooting weddings) ..and I've been there ever since. Fair to say Nikon caught up and match them all nowadays or even surpass some!!

A very nice video. My personal list for less bulky cameras of this type would be: DX: D90 and D7200, FX: D700, D810/D820 and D750. I still own and use two bodies from this list, and I don't think I will ever sell my D750, even if it dies one day. And for film, my personal favourite is F100.

I am a long time Nikon shooter and currently own four Nikon 35mm film cameras and eight Nikon digital cameras. I have been mainly shooting with my D500, my D850 and some portrait work with the D780. I recently decided to go out with my D7100, which I hadn't used in about two years and when I returned and began to edit the images I was amazed at how much the color just popped and almost edited it self. I had become used to the editing of the newer models which now seem to require more attention. The D7100 is better over all than the D7200. I absolutely love the D7100 and will never sell it nor my D700. There is something very special about those two bodies. I also own two of the CCD sensor Nikon bodies and that color is also in a class of it's own.

D90, D300s, D500, D700, D3s. If the D7000 had a better AF system in, it would have been in there replacing the D90 or D300s for a slot. Unfortunately Nikon screwed up what could have been one of the best APS-C bodies ever produced

Since you never received a response I thought I would chime in. I would say you can go about iso 3200 on the D7100 but watch for banding. The D7200 gives you about 2/3rds of a stop better iso performance without the banding issue and better buffer. Both are great cameras, especially at the current prices.

It produces excessive Mosquito Effects, and Halos, if the sharpness is moved 1 notch above the defaults. It is also produces a lot of Noise in any Areas that are not at the point of Over Exposure. It has been back to Nikon Twice, but they say it is Within Factory Tolerances. I guess those 'Tolerances' are wide enough to drive several Semi Trucks thru, Side by Side. @@pjimmbojimmbo1990 I also realized that after the latest real pro bodies (D4s-D3s, D700, D3x and D200-D300) Nikons focusing issues started, this has nothing to do with higher MP bodies like some people claim but with real issues during the chain of fabrication and testing. I would understand if Sigma or Tamron lenses had focusing adjustments issues but not genuine Nikon lenses. The problem is that they are made by thousands in cheaper factories and are not tested correctly and evenly with all Nikon bodies. If every Nikon DSLR camera and lens had the exact same micro adjustment from start, there would be no issue. The main issue relies on the camera adjustment though because all previous and newer lenses work perfectly fine on pre 2010 camera bodies. After that, there was a huge decline, hence the AF micro adjustment option in their newer cameras, which are sometimes useless with zoom lenses and go beyond -20 or +20 depending on the focus shift issues...Even my cheaper D60s or D3000 (both ccd cameras with simple constraint focus) will focus accurately!
