    I'm sure this doesn't work for everyone but I usually wear a "regular" bra under my camisole no 5, but I use one of those bulb shaped stitch markers to pull together the straps in the back. It hides them fully for me! ✨

    While watching this video I am realising how much you have influenced me. I have made 4 of the tops you showed in this video (camisole no 5., square neck camisole, twist loop top and the anker tee) and already have the yarn for your Tombo Tee. I just love your style of knitting and your videos, they always cheer me up!

    OMG the last top is so pretty! Love the square neck silhouette combined with just plain stockinette, I don't think I've ever seen that before. Would definitely be interested in a pattern if you decide to write it up :)

    I have a square neck camisole knitted out of drops flora. (and am knitting a second one) I like to wear it in spring/autumn with a cardigan or as a layering pice underneath Mesh/Lace Jumpers.

    Use a butterfly clip (it’s specifically for bra straps, to pull them in at the back), to help with the tops that come in at the arm pit area. Works wonders 🥰 the come in packs of like… 3 or 5 typically in a few neutral colours

    I happened to see this video as I am attempting to knit a summer top for my daughter. This presents many issues. I wish you made a knit-along of the Twisted Loops top. I’d certainly follow along with you. Right now I a going through Love Letter by Kika. It is my first top ever and I am challenged. Besides that, it is quite a hope that the size will fit my daughter since she lives so far away.

    Beautiful knits and I love your yarn choices. Did you use elastic thread to reinforce the neckline of your Anker Tee? Maybe that's just for the Anker Summer tee because of the yarn it recommends, but it was a must for me.

    Such a nice selection! Can I ask why you don't enjoy the cotton merino from knitting for olive as much as the merino? I was eyeing it for some summer tops, since I thought it would maybe be a little cooler while still having some stretch, but would love to know why you prefer the merino!

  • @handmadebyflorence

    I think it just has a bit more cotton in it than other blends I’ve tried, so as someone who prefers merino to cotton it doesn’t suit me so well! I like it more than 100% cotton for sure, and I know a lot of people like it

    Please, explain me: why you knit a summer garments from wool? Do you live in North where summer is cold? Or is it better than silk/linen/cotton/viscose? I barely can imagine myself wearing wool on a hot summer day, but maybe I am missing something.

  • @handmadebyflorence

    @handmadebyflorence

    I live in the UK, so summer is usually 18-30°C but generally humid and uncomfortable over 24° or so in my experience. I don’t like the process of knitting with plant fibres and I don’t like how uneven the finished fabric looks. I also think the garments stretch out a lot, whereas wool holds its shape. Some wool I can’t stand in summer (eg anything with alpaca, anything at all scratchy) but merino I find quite comfortable Obviously will vary by person, but nowadays I know I like merino the most so see no purpose in using anything else! When we had a 40° day a couple of years ago I wore a full hand knitted outfit (top and shorts) and had no issues at all :)

  • @IamVel

    @IamVel

    @@handmadebyflorence Thank you for your reply! I live in Finland, it is also pretty cold here most of the year, but I cannot wear anything woolly if it is warmer than +15°C. That is why I was wondering how it is possible to wear wool for others in the summer. But maybe it is just my thing. Now I am trying out linen yarn, and it is a difficult one to knit, indeed it is! I have experience with knitting viscose/linen mix and that was lovely, but 100% linen is a nut to crack! :) Still want to work on the tee with it, if needles won't do, I'll go for the crochet.
