Decided randomly to sort my favourite books by genre and I found out that fantasy dominates the list. Therefore I decided to make a separate video on favourite fantasy books. Also contains some new favourites which shall also appear in my third "my favourite books" video (when I gather enough new favs to make said video).

Classical fantasy, metal and an Eastern European perspective! That made me interested right away. Will browse through your channel(s) and watch some more. If you do a lot of your reading in Russian, how do you feel about the translations? Are there any that really draw you in with their style of writing? I'm also a native speaker of Russian, but my fantasy reading is 90% in English. As a professional book translator and a book nerd, I find most Russian translations of fantasy novels a bit too bland or sometimes just lacking in quality.

Recently I got myself LOTR in Russian, Кистямур edition. It feels odd to read translated names and I don't like that Baggins is Torbins and Pippin is Pin, but I can tolerate that since this translation is easier to read than some others. Most of the time the translation is fine. Sometimes it's even better than the original. For example And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie was better in Russian than in English.
