@Hi_Nu Ver 0 Zero_Tester Most schools allowed you to make a club if you had enough starting members and asked lol. It's most likely that nobody tried to organize at your schools, so they just never came about. We had one in 04 but it was around only 8 members that got a period off each week to meet in the library lmao.

The only thing that makes Berserk ending beareble is that Guts can stay forever in fayrieland with his companions. No longer living in hate. Not a bad ending after all. Thanks Miura.

For real. About ten days after his passing, I was handling it very well... until, while sitting at a bar, I came across a wonderful piano rendition of Guts's theme in my recommends. I started tearing up, and had to go outside. It was then that I truly felt what it must have been like for a Nirvana fan when Kurt Cobain committed suicide. I had cried over Ryan Davis from Giant Bomb, as the newest podcast was releasing on my birthday, and that turned out to be when the rest of the guys made the announcement. But fuck. Honestly, I'm so incredibly happy to have found Berserk, and even to have gone through the struggle of such rare releases. It had heart beyond heart.

I understand how you feel. Berserk has honestly saved my life. When i was younger, I was very self destructive and really bad with abusing substances. Guts' journey was the kick in the ass i needed.

Not gonna lie, him dying is less traumatic than reading Berserk. Its a pity, yeah. Berserk reminds me of ptsd or schizophrenia for a bit of it. And I *had* Psychosis before. Whenever I read it, I was getting anxiety. Guts learning to form bonds again is great. Its hard for me to not be somewhat removed considering I had full anhedonia during my psychosis time before.

Disco Elysium is one of the best games I've ever played, and almost definetly best written. Only thing that makes me angry about it is how well it puts to words some ideas and thoughts I've struggled with in my own writing and that I've never really found way to bring out.

I haven't felt about a video game the way I I feel about Disco Elysium since... hell, Fallout 2? The writing was impeccable.

It's tragic indeed that kentaro miura has passed, berserk is just an absolute titan inspiring so many great things I grew up loving. Even though it'll never get finished there were some pretty big threads that got resolved and the journey is completely worth taking. Also... even though I don't think i'll ever be able to get into fighting games I still end up buying so many fighting games... curse your beauty guilty gear strive... it just looks so amazing so I know one day I'll end up getting it

Do we have confirmation it's over? Last I heard he'd trained two assistance in finishing it in the event he died and if their work (Check out Duranki it's stunning) is anything to go off of they're more than capable of doing it depending on how many notes or how much of Miura's vision was shared with them.

I only started recently binging my first read through of Berserk. I thought it would have been overhyped, but actually, it broke every expectation and surpassed them, it is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Omg hazel got featured on Wolf's channel, I think my day got 3x times better already. In this corner of the world was really beautiful, it showed how everyday life is never gonna change, you gotta live it through no matter the knockbacks it hit ya with. Even when a delayed missile explodes taking the life of a kid and your entire right arm & purpose in life.

As i said on your tweet when we heard the news about Miura : The more I think about it, the more satisfied I become with how Berserk ultimately ended. The most forward themes of the story were always about finding peace, and finding your own reason to live, and in a way, having a very comedic chapter be what we were left with feels right. The sprawling demon armies and battles that Miura could create were always impressive, but the most breathtaking panels he made were the ones of calm, when I look back the scenes that stand out the most arent the creating of Griffith's kindgom or Guts' first encounter with Zodd, it's pages like this one, of the characters having quiet moments of peace with one another, and having this story end, in its current form, with Isidro flipping skirts as carefree as he could be while puck makes a sheev reference couldn't be any less fitting.

Anybody wanting an excellent anime this summer, look no further than To Your Eternity, a heart-rending and beautiful story about an inanimate orb learning how to exist in the world, slowly becoming more aware as it interacts with various people in several small-scale vignettes that have some of the most likeable characters I've seen in a long time.

What I liked most about Elfen Leid is their visual representation of telekinesis that was different from anything I had seen up till then.

As a manga reader, thing the about Jujutsu Kaisen is that the plot only really starts going after where the anime stopped. Reading it, I only felt meh about it until the arc that comes right after the last parts we saw in the anime. After that, and it's probably my favourite shonen next to One Piece and Chainsaw Man. And that's really saying something.

Thank you so much for shining a light on Odd Taxi, for how incredible it is it’s criminal just how little attention it’s been getting.

In this Corner of the world is one of the most devastating films I've seen in years. It literally made me whisper "no" at a certain scene...

Yeah I'd like to see media from the POV of a rural family that doesn't get too involved in politics seeing the atrocities committed by their own government as well as those inflicted upon them by the US, highlighting the hopeless realization that your fate is molded by men with far greater power than you will ever possess. But at the same time, we can't ignore that many Japanese civilians supported their governments actions out of blind nationalism, so I'd like to see that portrayed too.

Disco Elysium is easily one of my favourite games of all time

OddTaxi is one of the most underrated shows I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing and I’m glad you recommended it. It’s become not only one of my favourite anime this year, but just of all time!

I was convinced by a friend to pick up Berserk. 187 chapters in, news broke of Miura’s passing. The story isn’t finished and probably never will conclude, but it’s a masterpiece all the same. Thanks for talking about it.

I just finished her Elfin Lied video and I can absolutely see why SEW reccomended it. It's like the Breadsword Gurren Lagann video, but the female counterpart to that video's clearly masculine leanings (not in a bad way, masculinity will always be a piece of any good Gurren Lagann discussion). It's so well-done in how it goes from an analysis in a vacuum to building every bit of personal context around Elfin Lied.

The dialogue for Odd taxi is so beautifully done it feels like I’m listening to a real conversation usually a show like this would bore but the suspense and twists are spaced out JUST right to keep me hooked and holy crap that final episode 😯

Of course he loves Todo. Eyepatch's type of woman is Lady Dimitrescu, a tall woman with a big a-.

I'm so glad you recommended Hazel's Elfen Lied video, it's an amazing exploration that definitely sent my on a nostalgia trip back to my earliest days as a weeaboo (and how in denial I was about it, since anime wasn't "cool" yet and I desperately wanted to seem 'normal' to others). But at the same time, curse you for reminding me about Miura's death ;_;

Man, I finally subscribed to your channel after watching "Why you should read Berserk" when it came out. I then came to love both Berserk and your channel and it really pained me when I heard about Miura, it was a tragic loss but even if his story ends it definitely is worth a read (or several) and will continue being one of my favorite works of art.

@19:35 That’s one of my favorite screen pictures in the entirety of berserk. When I was in middle school I had an iPod touch (first gen), and I used it to go on the browser and read pirated manga (I purchase manga these days -_-). I had just watched the horrific finale of the anime, and immediately found that there was no animated continuation… so I started reading right where the anime left off. That’s when I found out just how beautiful the manga art was. Eventually, I came to this moment. They all get to the coast and it’s just such a precious fleeting moment. I screen captured it and held onto it for years. Nowadays I see every single reviewer use that moment in their videos and I feel validated knowing that we all recognized together how great it was.
