“To the point where I think I enjoyed it more than most actual anime I watched this year.” THIS. Honestly couldn’t agree more. I think the main reason why Spongebob the Anime is so enjoyable and so.. genuine is because it’s basically a result of love. Now I don’t personally know Narmak but you can tell he loves Spongebob and he loves shounen anime, and he wanted to mix two things he loves a lot, even if the whole thing started as a silly meme. Spongebob the anime isn’t just a fun, silly animation, there was passion in the project, there was genuine effort from the creator to portray something that loves (Spongebob the cartoon) in another style and animation that he also dearly enjoys. I’ve recently became interested in animation, and as someone who has been there when the first Spongebob anime OP came out, seeing something like this actually come to life is so inspiring and motivating.

Blake Donovan know what exactly? That Narmak loves shounen anime and Spongebob? Well, it’s easy to see that he loves shounen anime because Spongebob wasn’t the only anime parody he’d done, he’d done anime Shrek parodies as well and made multiple JoJo references in his videos. As for Spongebob, before he started working on the anime he had done four Spongebob anime OPs, and I doubt someone who doesn’t love Spongebob would spend months working on animating, voicing and directing a whole animation dedicated to a cartoon.

It's the human element to my job that reminds me why I wanted to go into this field and why my job as mundane and pointless and chaotic it is sometimes matters

Doubt you'll ever see this, but just sharing that your content is one of my favorite things on the internet. Every time I see you post a video it helps me chill out, exposes me to new things that I'd have never seen without your work, and generally makes my day.

@@ButtslammerBob the sad thing is. The manhwa actually goes into a lot more detail that explain just about everything that happens. The anime decided instead of taking a more conservative route and adapting maybe 30-40 manhwa chapters into a 13 episode arc, like how most anime's do it. They instead decided to cram 112 chapters into 13 episodes. So a lot of what made the story entertaining is freaking lost in a swarm of fight scenes that are highly choreographed but meaningless.

One thing I'm also impressed by is the sheer volume of content you consume. I am unemployed and don't go to school and even then I barely watch/play/read even half of what you do.

People have been saying for years that he needed to turn heel, me included, but just HOW GODDAMN GOOD he is in the role has blown me away. The sheer condescension and nastiness he had in that promo going into Clash was great, and the match itself saw both men bring out so much emotion. It feels so good to hate this cruel, arrogant, violent bully they've made him into, and having Heyman around just makes it even more fun.

Personally I feel as if “just fun” anime’s are coming out of tradition, now we either have these boring isekais, stories that try to be deep, and then you have just anime’s that exist, but very few scratch that itch for me

Sounds like you have to watch this season's Akudama Drive. Isekai it is not. Deep it is definitely not. But there's lots of lovely explosions and pretty (crazy) people punching each other. Only 2 episodes out right now tho.

I really enjoyed the last episode though. I feel like the message of hopefulness that someday we can go back even if we're not the same people anymore was such a fantastic way to wrap up the show and was so necessary right now. But yes there was definitely subplot issues that.... exist.... and my biggest issue was falling into the trap a lot of survival dramas fall into where a lot of the problems are caused by the characters ignoring obvious warnings (sometimes literally) and basically becoming a trope horror flick cast. I think obsurd is fine, especially considering who directed this series... but it definitely left a lot to be desired.

This is unrelated but did you ever hear the sound you use for your alarm clock when you weren't in bed and not expecting it? I picked a soothing melody because I didn't want it to startle me.Hearing it creates a really strange and indescribable feeling, because that melody is so strongly associated with the dreadful moment when I wake up and need to leave my warm bed.

I just watched Japan Sinks, and man, it was so depressing yet uplifting. The end of the 8th episode had me crying my eyes for the entire scene. What an absolutely beautiful emotional rollercoaster of a series.

I watched the first episode of japan sinks on a black screen w/ subtitles thinking it was just a stylistic first episode. I was completely engaged by the sound effects and voice acting alone, not even realizing that there were supposed to be visuals.

@Kunoros Hound of Athreos Depends on the VPN. The ones that get hacked aren't usually the big name ones, because the big name ones don't log your data. Where as the smaller ones, most of which have the same parent company, do log data. So before spreading potential misinformation, I'd suggest you start listening to the Security Now! podcast. Since if anyone is going to highlight these kind of things and expose which VPNs are dangerous? It's Steve Gibson and Leo Laporte. Especially considering how much of a hacker and how plugged into the community Steve Gibson is.

Really? I mean a lot of them are dubbed if you just press play, but all of them I’ve seen let you switch to the original language with subtitles. You just have to tell it what language you prefer in the language menu

As a wise man once said "friends, it is October, which means we are obligated to get a little spooky", so as a life long fan of horror I'm gonna blindly wait for the Mega Die Patch Wolf's House of Horror to drop in a separate video. Rule of Rose has a great story...not great gameplay, let's not kid ourselves but great story and for that It'll always have a place in my heart.

Honestly, I really want to see a review of the anime 'Monster'. It's a show that's gone under the rader for far too long. You have a way for reviews that's so unique

I agree wholeheartedly with that slice of life relaxation and comfort idea in video games. For example when I was away from home for school, I remember I would just cut on breath of the wild and ride on my horse. The music, atmosphere, visuals, everything was just so spectacular. It’s kind of hard to describe. I guess it’s kind of like that nostalgic feeling you get when you remember a fond childhood memory. There’s this sense of adventure and need to explore and discover that’s not overpowering, like if you were playing an action game, but it’s a bit more subtle and it allows you to truly relax. And also I don’t know when you write your scripts but if you haven’t watch the great pretender do it, you will not regret it.

If you think the flipnote thing is crazy, there's a guy who has made a 34 minute anime OVA in the flipnote app! Apparently it took 4 years of work to make. It's being released later this year and there's a trailer up on the guy's channel right now! I'd post a link but youtube would probably just delete my comment for spam or something, so just look up "flipnote anime" on google. It looks sick as hell and I have no idea how one guy made that.
