I'm a concept artist, I literally wrote a huge blog post on my Patreon gushing about the artistry of puss in boots because it's so amazing. Fun fact: the artists purposely composed shots featuring Death as highly symmetrical, which is unusual compared to the rest of the film and makes him even more jarring and frightening when he shows up. Also, the white rim lighting they use on him adds extra graphical storytelling emphasizing how sharp and scary the shapes of his design are. It's genius.

I really enjoyed the narrative but the mishandling of the heavy themes still doesn’t sit well with me. Kiriko went through all of that and has 0 trauma or any repercussions as of the current chapter of the manga as to what happened with Robin, and while the anime did the scene more tastefully than the manga (which literally felt like hentai), it should have had a warning or something for disturbing content before the intro or should have been cut out entirely since they cut out more important parts of the story. The anime isn’t as good as the manga but the animation and sound design are great imo.

Hearing your story about how street fighter is apart of your life really connected with me. I remember when I first discovered Street Fighter through an emulator website. Everything about it blew my mind and since then I have become a proud member of the FGC. Thanks to Street Fighter, I've made lots of friends, discovered other games like Guilty Gear and The King of Fighters, and helped me through rough points in my life. Playing Street Fighter 6 for the first time was like going back in time to when I played the series for the first time. "Street Fighter is back" and its here to stay

One truly fascinating thing about Heavenly Delusion is that the mangaka, Masakazu Ishiguro, began it in part as an attempt to write something completely different from his previous series, the comedy slice-of-life And Yet the Town Moves, or SoreMachi for short. SoreMachi is a beloved series in Japan, literally winning awards, and Ishiguro had no idea how he could possibly follow it up, so he decided to go with an idea he'd been rolling around in his head for years, inspired by his love of Akira and philosophical ruminations on the nature of evil. So he wrote Heavenly Delusion. And the weird thing is, if you've either read or watched And Yet the Town Moves, the really warm and nuanced character writing and askew sense of humour all carry through. But Heavenly Delusion takes all of the tiniest hints of darkness and deep, intense strangeness that lurks between the lines of SoreMachi and amplifies them by countless orders of magnitude, and that's wild to me.

Although I’m not the biggest fan of Boy’s Abyss, it’s mangaka Minenami Ryo is one of my favorites. Their most successful work, Hatsukoi Zombie, being a bizarre and fascinating take on the tomfoolery of the shounen harem. The reason I specifically named that one is because it’s the easiest to pitch, but all of their work is fantastic.

you described perfectly why i loved Heavenly dellusion so much. Like when it finished i could not really say that was a flawless show (that scene mentioned really felt unnecesary) but what it did good was so great. i haven´t felt that level of awe of expectation for the next episode in a sesonal anime in years.

I’m tall and on the thin side, but an XL has a great amount of length and is tall in a way that I really appreciate. Sometimes getting a shirt that is long enough makes it way too baggy, but the shirt feels and looks great. Love the artwork too!

Yeah, that ending did a good job of making me want to read it to see where things went, because that, uh... "event" was such an unpleasant note to end on. The whole thing's pretty great. The worst thing about it is it's not finished yet, and the part where it leaves off...is frustratingly close to bringing all the pieces together.

Nice to see someone who shares my exact love and enthusiasm of John Wick Chapter 4. The opening punches felt like cannon fire in the theatre, and it set the stage for a movie that felt like something Zeus might have punished Prometheus for daring to bring to us humans. Mortal eyes were not meant to see this. It's not often an action movie can craft a first(ish) fight scene that feels like a legendary & climactic final battle, and then have the fights _still_ get better as the movie goes on. If you still haven't seen it, do yourself a favor, it takes all the lessons learned from every one of the previous movies and amps it up to 11. Everything from the neon lighting to the killer soundtrack is impeccable.

I think the nigh-universal consensus on The Last Wish is that it has absolutely no right being as good as it is, considering _what_ it is. A sequel to a largely forgettable Shrek spinoff, from which it's removed by over a decade of time, that's probably one of the greatest films released last year.

Puss in Boots also has one of, if not the best depiction of a panic attack in any children’s film. And as someone who had them for years in grade school and has had them very recently resurface after several years, it brought tears to my eyes that kids are finally being taught to try and understand a problem that is very close to an increasing amount of people’s lives, including children. And that’s just one moment in an absolutely fantastic film.

The MV for Fight Song is also a direct sequel to another of his MVs, How To Eat Life, which is another absolute banger! Eve also has a manga series that further expands on the world many of his MVs provide glimpses into, and that's called Kara no Kioku! He writes the story, while Newo illustrates! Speaking of manga, thanks for the recommendation of Until I Love Myself, I'm definitely going to have to track that down to read it!

I'm one of the weirdos who found out through the wrestling videos. I assumed outside of wrestling, this was an anime channel and I do not care about anime at all, so I was happy to pop in whenever you did a wrestling video and otherwise tune out. But KZread said i should watch this and I did. Starting this video I was already thinking my favorite thing this year is unquestionably Street Fighter 6. But MAN, I did not expect to see it here. Like you, I am also experiencing a profoundly difficult year. The death of the closest person in my life, combined with numerous other personal struggles has kicked my ass. I spent most of the year literally counting down the days til SF6 launched as I'm a huge SF fan. Even still, I didnt expect to love it as much as I do or it to be as amazing as it is. Feeling the love and passion that drips from that game straight up reinvigorated me and reminded me about how positive life can be despite how cruel it can be. So I guess I wanted to express this weird, surprising kinship we have over some of our interests and also just thank you for making these videos. You do great work and you always find a way to sensibly speak the jumble of thoughts I have about a topic (like calling the Tribal Chief story an "unreality of wrestling". Thank you. And hell, I'll try that one Boys anime you mentioned too.
