Sometimes my swing gets off track. It starts to feel out of rhythm. Instead of fighting my swing, I have a drill that helps me get my feeling back.
In this video I show you my "Shoulder to Shoulder" drill that helps me get the feeling back in my swing. It also helps me square the club face without thinking about it.
About the Single Plane Golf Swing
The Single Plane golf swing is not a quick fix golf technique. It is a system, beginning at address, that simplifies the most important moment of the golf swing - impact.
Starting at address on two planes where the arms hang straight down at address, the Conventional golf swing is complicated. Because the arms are hanging straight down, a conventional golfer must lift the body into impact creating stress on the back.
This upward movement to accommodate the two planes is unnecessary.
The Single Plane Golf swing simplifies the golf swing by eliminating the need for the upward movement by starting and impacting on the same plane.

Hello Todd. I started watching your videos a couple months ago and I gotta hand it too you. You do a fantastic job explaining everything. I have always been a very analytical person so I appreciate the way you teach. I am 72 years old and I learned to play with Jack Nicholas. I was a 4 handicap at one time and when I turned 50 I played in a Monday Qualifier. Didn't do so well and I actually quit playing for about 15 years. Seeing Moe Norman and the way you teach has got me interested in golf again. I would love to play one sub par round before I can't play any more and you have given me hope. Thank you

Great swing thought, I do the same when getting out of rhythm or off plane Left shoulder down pointing to ball / Replace Right shoulder down pointing to where ball was. And that’s it no other thoughts.

Good one Todd!! The swing is amazing this year my second year single plane, I finally started driving the ball better and hitting my irons much better I play in a nine hole league and I was able to take my handicap from a 12 last year to a 6 than 5!! But now I find myself back to a 12. I know it’s just a few minor adjustments and I can’t wait to put this into practice.

Hi Todd, I recently started watching your videos, bought and read your book, and have been giving an honest go at the single plane swing. By and large its been awesome - my shots are more under control and I'm playing with more confidence and less pain. There is one problem however, every fourth practice section or so, I'll develop a wicked pull hook. Apart from focusing on this video, is there anything else that should be looking at?

Your left hand position is causing a closed club face.

Great stuff, Todd! What about putting thoughts? I find myself focusing on swing path or ball contact and neither leads to a consistent (repeatable) result.

With so many struggles with putting, I developed the "LockNRoll" putter that locks to the lead arm. The only thing that I "try" do do with putting is feel like I am tossing the ball with my right hands. Since the putter is locked to the lead arm, the face stays square. gravesgolf.com/locknrollputter-2023/

I would seriously encourage anyone learning the SPS to get custom fitting measurements off Tim Graves - I'm over 2 years with the swing now but was just recently in a position to afford new irons and it has made a massive positive difference. It's as important a factor as the grip, sidebend, stance width etc. I'm no longer forcing the issue. Unless you have custom fit clubs you will never know for sure if there's an issue with your swing or not (as it might be the clubs)
