On top of insane training it’s about perfecting your running form. I’m a total noob and currently run at 5.30-6.30/km, and i noticed that i got waaaay faster (about 25s/km faster) just by slightly improving my form and increasing cadence. I used to have 180 heart rate when running at 6.40/km with a 162-165 cadence, then when i improved my form and set to a 175-180 cadence my pace dropped to 6.10/km pretty much overnight (actually 2 days later) with 177 heart rate.

It's just like Larry Wheels's 675 lbs bench and Dmitry Klokov's 550 lbs "PAUSE" squat. But if you think they are all regular people on egg, veggies and protein shake then you are too naive. A normal man's (someone not on gear) heart (at that age) won't remain at 190+ for 15+ minutes. Even if it did, he won't be able to talk like that at the end of 10k.

Just that some of them are super moderate with the use, and many of them are experts at cycling it out of their systems before the doping tests. I've come across teenagers using EPOs, Test-E, Anadrol and what not. Lance Armstrong too had all the big claims until his castle of cards came falling down. Perhaps the only sports where the marquee players don't use any of these are billiards and chess.

Wow! I can feeeel the pain. Shut. Up. Legs! It’s so inspiring to watch people pushing their physical (and mental) limits AND going so fast. Your channel is great! Especially like seeing triathlon races behind the scenes, like traveling and race prep as well as the general training insights. Hope Montreal WTS takes place next year - we love traveling over the border to see you and Rachel race in person.

Not sure what kind of genetic background that you’ve got. But these kind of feats are largely mental. Certain people are going to have a higher physical peak, but reaching your peak is as significant. Same amount of work, same amount of dedication. You just have to convince yourself that the hard work and dedication is the feat. Not the time you get in the end. This guy isnt setting records. And that’s just it. His work and dedication has brought us all together anyways.
