Inspection for cars is quite a joke,often. My renault 21 had completly destroyed rear end bushings,completly separated,but thet sat at their place,normally. The inspector never saw that problem,even if he has the machine to shake and twist the whole rear end like a maniac. Nice work on your car.

Just changed the rear ball joints on my e36, a vast improvement in road feel and stability.

Heh, using a spring compressor, haven't seen that method before. My specially designed kit for this job has an old suspension sleeve stuck in it. Good to know there is an alternative.

Nice to see a video that shows the reality of snapped/seized/rusted bolts that are inevitable on cars of this age. Though I'm not sure why the inner control arm bolts needed to be touched for this specific job? Is it not possible to unbolt the suspension strut from the hub carrier so you can push it up to work on, rather than bending the swing arm down? Wouldn't that also save the need to have the alignment done afterwards?

Yeah it's lot of fun. But as usually as you would think. Because as you can see at the end, the snow gets eroded away, so the soon after snowfall, the roads are full of "tracks" that are bare asphalt. Which makes winter drifts impossible.. Of course every time it snows, roads are covered in snow for some time :) And the less driven countryside roads are almost always covered in snow.

It's all fun and games when it's fresh snow and it stays below freezing temperatures. But usually (especially in cities) they spill all that salt on the roads and on top of that if temperature rises to around 0 degrees (celcius) it gets all slushy and really ruins your car slowly but surely. So that's why "winterbeaters" are a thing here, if you really love your car you're not going to drive it during the winter.

It is the same in our country, even if snow is on the road is maybe couple of days they put salt and gravel on the road all the time... Even when there is just smallest patches of leftover show or a chance of snowing. People can't drive for shit. That is why I have E36 compact together with my 350Z, I don't want to ruin that car with rock chips and rust...

@@cryptorage7206 I filmed these few months ago so that's why there isn't snow when exitting garage :D I have very little free time to edit these so there can be quite long time between filming and published video.

Seized and rusted bolts. The bane of every mechanics life! :-/ I dare not even touch my rear suspension because of the state of the bolts!

tuosta käsijarrusta ku puhut, nii mikä väkänen siellä on, mikä on voinu taittua ku itellä on nelikutonen bemu ja käsijarru ei pidä juuri ollenkaan. vaikka on uusi levy ja kengät. viime katsastuksessa tuli nippanappa lukemat tauluu ku ite vedin kässäriä apparinpaikalta, ja sen jälkee oli muutaman viikon se käsijarrunpään nappi sentin sisemmässä ku normaalisti ja sitte pullahti vaa ulos. ja pieniki alamäki ni ei pidä yhtää se kässäri. onko vaijeri venyny vai mikä on

Nuo on oikeestaan kaksi toisiinsa liittymätöntä asiaa. Käsijarrun huono pitävyys korjataan tekemällä säätö kuten tuossa kerroin ja korjaamalla jumittavat vaijerit ja mekanismit. Tulee. Nyt vasta sain hommattua niitä varten tarvittavan johtosarjan, niin tässä joulun aikana ois tarkotus kötöstellä ne paikalleen. Ja joo olen miettinyt ja nuo viinamuutoksessa käytetyt suuttimet on sen verran isot, että ne mahdollistaa kevyen tehojen tuplauksen. Jotakin gt30 kokoluokan ahdinta mietin, mutta taitaa jäädä tekemättä, kun mulla on tälle autolle jo tehokkaampi korvaaja olemassa. Kunhan ensin saan sen korjattua ajokuntoon :D

Eikö se olisi helpointa viedä jollekkin ammattilaiselle kone säädettäväksi? Kun niin paljon on teillä mennyt aikaa koneen säätelyyn

Mitäpä sitä turhaa viiä jos itekkin osaa :D Näitä bemarin vakio ecuja nyt kovin moni ammattilainen osaa edes säätää. Lyövät vaan valmista softaa sisään isosta rahasta ja sillä selvä. Toki nuo turbovehkeet on käytetty penkissä hienosäädettävänä, kun ne on sen verran tehokkaita vehkeitä ettei sitä oikeen muuten voi tehdä. Lisäksi tämän auton ongelmat on lähinnä liittyny kylmäkäynnistyksen säätöön viinalle ja sitä ei oikeen muuten voi tehdä kuin ajamalla autolla ja hakemalla säätöjä joka kylmästartissa.

but it helps pulling it out. And this car needed alignment anyways (all cars need if you replace suspension parts) so making the adjustment work again was mandatory.

Heei, mites sait tuon nahkasen käsijarrukahvan tai suojan ehjänä irti? Kun ittel on tommone puinen käsijarrukahva mikä ei auton täysmustaan sisustaan sovi. Pitäs purkuvehkeest saada tuo suoja irti.

Kahva pussin kanssa lähtee vetämällä irti. Tiukassa on kyllä :D Pussi on nipparilla juuresta kiinni, ja sen näkee kun kääntää pussin kahvan päälle "väärinpäin"
