Stopping by to say I relate so so hard to the study exchange thing! I've been struggling with my budget recently (working less so I can finish my grad degree faster) and was thinking about how a few years ago I had depleted my savings I worked so hard for for my study abroad semester and if I had that money now it would've grown so much, and literally thought to myself "Nah I'd rather have had that experience than the money now". Some things are priceless and we are so lucky we get to experience them for sure!

Hi Zoe! I've been affected by a massive Tech layoff in June 2023, but I've been watching your videos wayyyy before then! While I was job searching and trying out Upwork for the first time, I saw a lot of scams online. Do you have any recommendations on red flags? I am thinking about going the Teacher route and going back to school for my masters. You truly inspired me though! Hey! My bachelor's and I were laid off in January (real estate lay offs) and I've since done a bootcamp and am working on getting into product design! If I can get in and make some actual money (old salary was 40k in LA) a master's or at least some NNG training is a big consideration. Just wanted to say you're not alone and these jobs can't not-hire us forever 🥹

Hey if you have lost friends because of your choice to improve yourself, it's a great thing. It means you are growing when the people you lost are not. Throughout life your group will change if you keep growing yourself, it would be scary if you had the same people from high school when you retired, it means you didn't progress at all and are the same person. I'm not saying you won't have a handful of people, just saying the bulk of the people change as you develop. Good for you for doing what's necessary for you.

Not to get all woo woo, but after graduating a wrote down where I wanted to be in terms of income and networth. I reached both milestones 6 years before I thought I’d be there (I was probably thinking small, but also realistic) I have obviously worked hard for this, but I think there’s a lot of power in writing down our thoughts and intentions

Five figures a yr isn’t enough

I did the activity and if my dream life is my own apartment in LA, updating my car, traveling more, saving more, and eating better - AND I'm taxed at 30%, then my dream salary is $127k per year 😅

Hey Zoe! Love your content! I’m more interested in the financial/career aspects of your channel. However, would you ever consider incorporating some non-fast fashion brands into your videos? I want to continue supporting you but Garage as a company makes me uncomfortable because it’s contributing so much waste to the environment and has such poor working conditions for the people making the garments. i used to go thrifting alll the time, especially during covid so I have some old hauls of thrifted stuff 🩷 BUT it’s definitely a good idea to go again and I can include a haul in a vlog!

Do you need to wear glasses 😭? Almost all the girls with large beautiful eyes need to wear glasses these days because of the homework and exams 😭

I think losing your big friends group over time happens for most of us anyway as we get older.. but the saving and choices you are making now will make a huge difference in your life down the line. Your friends might regret not saving earlier in life.
