I do the partially frozen tripe or liver in small chunks, as a snack or in kibble. Pupsicle,, yes! He loves it, as it is so hot right now and probably really refreshing. We live in our Rv full-time and travel all the time so its hard to do a complete raw.. We just mix. Definitely we'll try the frozen sardines too. Basically our 1 yr mastiff wants to eat everything in site. We should of named him Hoover. Thank you for all the information you pass down to us. It's so helpful.

Thank you so much, Carol! If I lived in an RV full-time I would do the same thing. I can’t imagine having enough space for raw food for a Mastiff, let alone two! Good for you for doing it partially! Definitely try the sardines!! He will love them!! ❤️

Lol I appreciate it much yes my dogo loves tripe I open that bag of raw paw lamb tripe sorry I grab the bag and she knows exactly what’s she getting, it is stinky stink stank thought lol, but she loves it, definitely will have to get some more for her cause she if picky and finicky eater sometimes, what’s the best and cheapest place to get fresh tripe, I get the raw paws but it seems like it goes fast. do you remember the raw food co-up you used in pheonix we just a neglected saint bernard who’s underweight and is a very picky eater he’s otherwise healthy other then being underweight and doesn’t like kibble loves chicken and only certain types of canned dog food

Add a doggie gravy, also try believe it or not a handful of cat food.

Thank you for the suggestions! I have seen people use gravy and really like it. And with cat food being so rich, that doesn’t surprise me.

Hey there! It’s me JMJ.. I officially updated my name now that I spend all my time reading raw feeding. Thank you for all your suggestions!! I have some tripe in delivery route that I’ll mix up. I have been freezing or searing his organs and meat. Bones.. well if they’re like a chicken leg he literally looks at me like, “you gonna pick that up for me?” I agree with the non schedule. I think I was forcing that back when I tried and he just doesn’t eat like that. If he’s hungry, yes, if not nothing entices him. I have to relax! It’s totally me thinking.. he’s a big dog gotta get big., eat, eat😆 I still worry, but I’m trying. Either way kibble destroys his skin no matter what he eats! Thanks for answering my questions and for great helps!!! So here’s a question. Max didn’t eat breakfast he just ate 3lbs of food. He’s “supposed” to eat total 4.5 lbs. should I be concerned about this total recc amount?

Thank you so much! You are so much like me, it's crazy! Totally overthinking all the time... 😂. I wouldn't worry about the amount this early on if you are still working on introducing him to it. As he's hungry and willing, you can try to feed more. You could also offer the 4.5 pounds over two meals and see if he refuses any of it. That will tell you a lot. The calculators always say I need to feed my boys more than I do... and they could stand to lose a few pounds each. It's not a perfect science. I hope that helps!

@@BigDogMom definitely working on calming down I mean I can’t force it down him🤣 some days he may eat a lb in morning but he’s not that hungry. I know he’s active looks healthy so he must be ok. Oh we’re getting a girl pup in September!! Gonna raw fed her from the get go. Got any videos on new pups?

@@BigDogMom I just finished the book Raw Meaty Bones by Tom Lonsdale, he says “ establishing the quantity to feed pets is more in art than a science. Parents, when feeding a human family, manage this task without the aid of food consumption charts. You can achieve the same good results for your pet by paying attention activity levels appetite and body condition” How true

I absolutely LOVE that! I spoke about some of the information from Thomas Sandberg as well sort of along the same lines - pay attention to your dog and think about his/her health holistically. So much of that mindset should be a relief to most big dog owners who worry about diet.

@@BigDogMom sometimes I think well I managed to feed 5 kids, why does this need to be so hard?? I admit many days I kind of know how much he’ll eat now without weighing. I always give some meaty bones( he says meat should always be on bone) and sprinkle in other stuff. The only organ I make sure to weigh is liver, his kidneys etc I don’t freak about. The book was very freeing because as you know the “formulas!!!” Oh boy!
