I totally agree. She absorbs flight as a natural phenomenon, just one more remarkable thing humans can do. I never had such luck but I loved aviation as long as I knew it and enjoyed being a pilot more than almost anything.

I used to take my daughter flying at that age. She's now 25 and a licensed pilot herself. In my family she is the 4th generation to become a pilot, but she is the first girl to get her license. These are priceless memories to have with our kids, thanks for sharing yours with the rest of us.

That's awesome. I used to take my teen daughters flying back last time I was current, about 20 years back. They learned to fly, we all had a great time. It's a special bond 🙂

Wasn’t blessed with kids but as an international airline pilot and an occasional glider pilot, videos like this put a smile on my face.. congrats.. she’ll always cherish that day! ❤️ ❤️

This is exactly how I was introduced to Flying my dad had a cub 1947 I think. I know it had a Franklin engine. I was about the same age as this little girl. I sat in the front seat couldn't see anything out the front windshield had to look out the sides my dad was 6 ft 5 so i had his long legs next to me. I earned my pilot's license at 18 years old and ended up becoming a commercial pilot. I still remember taking my dad up few months before I had my license shortly before he died. I still don't regret bending the rules. No radio, no lights, no Electric System, a simpler time.

Two things that I remember was the fuel indicator. A bent wire that came out of the fuel cap on top of the engine cowling. When flying with the doors open. Your stall warning indicator was the lower door raising up as you were approaching a stall.

When i was little, my Dad took me flying in his Cessna 172 many years ago

It's wonderful that an 83-year-old plane can give so much joy to a young child. The result of an excellently designed and very well piloted machine.

My dad was a flyer in WWII. When I was about 3 (1953) my dad took me flying in a J 3 Cub much like yours. What a thrill. It changed my life. Thanks for the video and the memory. Your daughters will remember this forever. Beautiful, just Beautiful!

THIS ❤️ is what it's all about! I was actually crying tears of joy as I watched this video. It brought back memories of my grandfather and his love of aviation... a passion I share with him and his memory ❤️. Sadly, I never got to fly in his J-3 Cub. A terrible thunderstorm struck 8A6 Wilgrove Airpark while he was out of town on business, and many airplanes were destroyed by the extreme winds. His was one of them. Watching your sweet flight with your daughter made me think of what could've been for my grandfather and me once. 😊 Thank you so much, Joe, for creating and sharing this special video. Magical. your Dad skills are 10/10 brother. I have always had the dream of flying - but never had the opportunity. I encouraged our little boys -- now , not so little - we have a PPL in the family - and he's going for commercial now. We do things for our kids that we didn't have... "Are we flying now?" - love it from I'm scared to best day ever , this is fun - brings back memories of flying with my father when I was a kid. I remember the first time he made a bank turn. I looked down out the window and was scared. So I leaned way over against my dad. He said, "Are you scared?" - unlike this precious, honest girl who said she was scared, I said , "No, I just wanted to see out your window". I think I was 5 years old.

4 years ago, I took my youngest grandson Mike up in my RV6 for his first flight ever. The noise he made when I built speed and did a pull-up at the end of the runway made my 20 year build effort totally worthwhile!

The only thing better than every kid having a father... is every kid having a good father!

You had me after pancakes. Pure gold. Brought back lots of great memories flying with my mom and dad just a bit older than Amilia. We all need to take notes on her pure joy of just running around in a circle on the grass.

A moment to treasure forever. Daddy's and their little girls have a special bond and it's so cool to give them experiences like this. 🥰

My first aviation memory was information with my Dad’s 210. I was with my mom in her bonanza. My sisters was screaming for her mommy and remained just terrified. Meanwhile my mom was flopping the controls over to my side so I could see how the controls worked. I had to stand on the see]at to see outside. We flew up to Myrtle Beach to stay at a nice hotel on the beach. My granddad taught my mother in 37. My dad learned in a hurry to fly B17’s in 42. This month, I’ve had my license for 51 years. Flight kinda sticks to your ribs and you can’t stop. This lassie’s pink heads are so cute.

The way she touched her dad's face. Beautiful.

I can't believe this little girl is a spitting image of my daughter Samantha when she was 3......it felt like a lump in my throat to see this beautiful family....Samantha, she is 50 now...

I've never watched a video of yours. I don't have a daughter. This video makes me smile and feel filled with joy. What a wonderful way to preserve and cherish your memories...

Outstanding! My son and I rode front seat in a J-3 when he was 2yo. We flew over our house while the wife was outside hanging his little brother's diapers on the clothesline. My friend throttled back and she said she could hear him calling "Momma" from 300'. Great first experience in a string of many involving aviation that I've been able to share over my career as a commercial pilot. Like my son, that first flight surely has set the hook deep for Amelia for a love of flying.

Flying with Daddy is something this little girl will always remember. I am 61 years old, and my Daddy had a J3 Cub when I was Little and flying with him are some of my most wonderful memories.

I remember the first time I flew with my dad in our J-3 Cub.. I was 5 in 1949; we flew out of Hawthorne Municipal where had built his first hanger and machine shop.The Cub is still flying today out of El Monte Airport. I don’t remember how long we flew but I was hooked and continued to fly with him until he died in 1963 when I was 19. I never got my license or never went up in another private plane. The many hours I spent with him in our various planes and doing many hours with my hands and feet on the controls is and will be always the greatest time I ever spent with him.

My favorite memories are flying with my Dad and flying with my son. I wish those 2 could have flown together. That would have been perfection

@@gwenjones8 Thx, I just had to, I just feel a lot of parents now a days don't realize just how much kids unconditionally trust and respect their parents, I felt Joe was not taking advantage of that and he was continuing to ensure her she could trust him, he knows the dangers, her not so much. Around 1952, my older brother was in his teens and had a private pilot's license. He took little me up in a J-3 for my first ever plane ride. Vivid memory, as she will have. This video takes me back.

What a brave, happy, inquisitive, gorgeous little girl, what a wonderful 'vintage 'plane' to soar in the skies, and what a great Dad!

Nothing better than having a daughter... and being a daddy.

I remember a little brown eyed, curly haired girl I took flying 25 years ago. An old Piper Cherokee 140 (1965) in the summer from a grass strip. We flew to Tulsa for snow cones at the airport snack shack.

Super fun to watch. Good job Amelia😊

I have a daughter named Amelia too! Must be a pilot thing! I also bought her that same headset for her first flight! I wish it had been in a cub, but she had a lightweight car seat in the back of my Cherokee 180. Didn't get my super cub till about 4 years ago! Thats awesome that she had such a good time!!! This is how future pilots are made!! Love it Joe!

So cool, what great memories this will make. This reminds me of a memory of mine. When I was kid just a few years older than her I’d won the prize of being able to go for a flight like this from our Church’s Vacation Bible School contest for who brings the most guests along with you at the end of VBS. It was so cool, we got to go fly over the Church and our house. Man did I ever love that flight and VBS. Thank you Lord that was fun. 😊

Great video ! The Cub J3 I took my lessons in didn't have a throttle like that. It was an old fashioned window sash lock ! 1964.

@@2pugman You sure it was a J3? Pretty sure they all have always had that exact throttle locations and type. There are several 'similar' planes. I've been in many J3's. All are identical. Been around planes for 30 years. Anyway. The important thing is, you had a chance to fly! It's one of the most magical experiences in life!

That's awesome. My favorite thing to do is take kids flying. The nervous ones are always smiles when we lift off. The amount of responsibility is equal to the joy of sharing GA.

This world belongs to the children, parents are here to enjoy the process of teaching them as much as possible for when we are no longer with them.

Brings back lots of memories. Dad sat me on a boat cushion so I could see over the dash...8yrs old. I later soloed in our Cub, rebuilt it as an A&P. I lost several hats in that cockpit!

it's hard to get any better than this, best family memories are the small one.

That girl will have no problem whatsoever to find her way as a commercial pilot should she choose to become a professional pilot thanks to the wisdom of her father, so she can live up to the standards imposed by the economic system. Captain Costanza, there is a special and reserved place in Heaven for a Dad, aviator and husband like you. I remember an earlier video with your other daughter (Maddie?), and that too was such an endearing and moving video of love for aviation and sharing it with a sweet child. This as well, touching and what sharing what we love with who we love is what aviation and life is all about. Your girls (including your wife) are fortunate to have you -- a great, accomplished pilot and aviator and a loving father and husband. I loved how you allayed her initial fear, high fived her in the end, remembered to "wave to Mr. Allens", talked about getting pancakes and eased her concerns about getting sick or scared. I love your videos and this is another of my favorites. If you're ever at KLNS, I'd be honored to meet you. 🙂

You are living the EXACT life I wanted with my daughter! Only difference is my dream included a Citabria. But life caught up with us. I didn't put enough effort into it. I lost the wife, my grown daughter never calls. And I never bought the plane. Your video reminds me of when I still had a dream ....

Good job! I took my daughter with me flying when she was 5. We went to Lancaster airport for afternoon tea. She had a good time too.

Thanks soooooooooooooo much, brought back such great memories of my first ride in same type of Cub back in the 60s at Freehold airport in upstate NY. Grass strip and door flap open, such a trill, I will never forget.

Great video! She wasn’t the least bit frightened. You prepped her well. My first flight was with my Father in a Stearman bi-plane. Still flying, until I can’t. I’ll age out before long, but the memories will always be there. Your daughter will always remember her first flight, and it was with her Dad. Pretty special.

He took me up when I was about 5 or 6. I didn't get into the piloting side of aviation due to cost, but I figured if I can't fly them, I can fix them...and I've been doing that for the last 30 years now...

Thank you. My best memories are flying with my dad in a J3 Cub…blue with, of all things, leopard interior. He also owned a 172 Cessna. Plenty of hours in both.
